  2. I have a website that is displaying FileMaker data using the PHP API. Is there a way for the web site to display the basic text formatting from a FileMaker field? For example, a few words in the comments field are bold in FileMaker and I would like them to also be bold on the website. Thanks for any ideas.
  3. Hi all, I'm new here so I hope I get everything right. I've done a search already, but I can not find my issue listed. Sorry if it's been covered before. OK, here goes..... VMWare Server running on HP Prolient G7 tin 2 Virtual Cores 4Gb RAM Windows Server 2012 R2 DataCenter x64 IIS v8.5 (Default for 2012 R2) FileMaker Server 12 FileMaker Pro 12 Advanced with Bonjour JRE v7 This is a brand new build specificity for this use. I've installed FileMaker Server 12 on to the above setup with Custom Web Publishing using PHP I followed the deployment wizard and deployed for a single machine setup. I allowed FMS to install the provided version of PHP with it's own configuration. There is NO SSL configuration on the server at present. The admin console shows three green ticks to indicate that everything is happy. However, when I run the PHP Custom Web Publishing Test, I get the page displayed correctly, (PHP is working) and it identifies the name of the server, but below the main information box, I get the following error message: The PHP connection to the FMServer_Sample database failed. The PHP test was not able to communicate with the Web Publishing Engine. Make sure you have PHP publishing enabled and the database has the fmphp extended privilege enabled. (Error 22; Unknown error) The sample database is installed and it is listed in the admin console, status, normal and dots across the line. I can't imagine that it wasn't installed with the correct Extended Privileges for CWP and I would not be 100% confident to know what I should check for. I am viewing the CWP Test webpage on both the server and a client and getting the same error message. Can anyone suggest any further areas that I should be looking at? Cheers in advance, Barry.
  4. Greetings - I got my start with CWP using FMwebstudio as the front end library to the FileMaker API (Dreamweaver). That library is no longer maintained. One of very cool things about that library was a dynamic field capability, fmsLiveInputField, where the changes you made in a web page were updated into the database in real time. I used it for event registration where the total attending and fees due automatically updated. I'd like to replicate this functionality ... display the total due, a show a few other live calculations. I prefer a PHP solution but realize javascript might be a better approach these days. I'm not a javascript guru so your help pointing me in the right direction would be helpful. And I do not want to use WebDirect due to the public pacing nature of this site and unpredictability in users active. Thanks!
  5. Hello! Another post... Please help me out. I am trying to create an array from a value list within Filemaker Pro (Using PHP API) The idea is to create an array of names from a value list I have set up... Then put them into an option tag. e.g. $staff = array(FileMaker Value List) ^^ I know that's incorrect, but it shows what I want to do Then with that array I want to be able to Create a HTML option list (I know how I would do that) --- I am just really struggling with creating the array... Here is what I have $database = "comms__web"; $hostname = "###.###.#.#"; $username = "web"; $password = "################"; $layoutname = "Web"; $valueListName = "MIS"; //CREATE FILEMAKER OBJECT $fm = new FileMaker($database, $hostname, $username, $password); //GET THE LAYOUT AS AN OBJECT. $layoutObject = $fm->getLayout($layoutName); //GET THE VALUE LIST $valueList = $layoutObject->getValueList($valueListName); However it doesn't actually appear to pick up the list... Please help me out Thanks,
  6. Hello all So I'm pretty new to Filemaker and CWP - I have created a form which people fill out and it stores the data in a filemaker solution. The idea being a script is then run which will notify a user if the form has been submitted. Now I have the script for that and all the Filemaker side completed, as well as the data entry from the PHP form, but I am really struggling with running a script with a parameter... It runs the script, but not the parameter attached. For a bit of context, Someone fills out the form and it is entered into the database, a script is then called with the parameter being an ID, the script then checks the ID with the parameter ID and then sends a notification to the user with the details from the record where the IDs match... but it will not pass the ID parameter into the script from the web application. Here is my script require_once ('FileMaker.php'); $fm = new FileMaker(); $fm->setProperty('database', 'comms__web'); $fm->setProperty('hostspec', 'http://192.168.X.XXX'); $fm->setProperty('username', 'web'); $fm->setProperty('password', 'XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX'); $newPerformScript = $fm->newPerformScriptCommand('Web','TestScript','test'); $result = $newPerformScript->execute(); Please help me out here... Been trying to research this issue and nowhere really actually helps. Cheers Jack

  8. I am in the process of modifying a FileMaker CWP site where a user was allowed to view a video hosted outside of FileMaker. The company upgraded to FileMaker 14 from FileMaker 11 allowing the usage of the getContainerURL method and uses embedded video file in a FileMaker container. My issue is simple, when I use the method I am prompted to authenticate. The authentication prompt is not a total surprise because I “suspect” that the method call is a new session call to FileMaker. So is there a way to use HTML5 and play the video from FileMaker without the prompt? Note: The prompt is presented across all browsers. I cannot imagine this is a new question but for some reason I am unable to find a possible direction to the solution. If anyone can please point me in the right direction or point out the flaw in the simple code below it would be greatly appreciated. Below is a simple version of my code: (filemaker.db.php) require_once('FileMaker/FileMaker.php'); $DB_HOST = 'http://127.0.0.1'; $DB_NAME = 'FRM_DB'; $DB_USER = 'username'; $DB_PASS = 'password'; $fmDB = new FileMaker($DB_NAME, $DB_HOST, $DB_USER, $DB_PASS); (index.php) include_once("filemaker.db.php "); $webLayout = "[WEB] fm_layout"; $workOrderNumber = "1234"; $containerField = "z_Rough_Media_Store_con"; $layoutFind = $fmDB->newFindCommand($webLayout); $layoutFind->addFindCriterion("Work_Order_Num_n","==" .$workOrderNumber); $result = $layoutFind->execute(); if(FileMaker::isError($result)){ echo("<p>Failed to find Work Order: " .$workOrderNumber ." from Layout: " .$webLayout ." Error: " .$result->getMessage() .”</p>"); exit(); } $record = $result->getFirstRecord(); include_once(“headerFile.php”); ?> <br> <div class="container"> <h2>HTML5 Video From FileMaker 14</h2> <video width="320" height="240" controls> <source src="<?php echo($fmDB ->getContainerDataURL($record->getField($containerField))); ?>" type="video/mp4" / > <p>Your browser does not support HTML5 Video</p> </video> </div> <br> <?php include_once("footer.php"); ?>

  11. Hi everyone, I just signed up here and have a question that is probably really simple. Question: I want to know how to map a website like crm.mysite.com to my FMS14 custom web publishing site. Details: The domain is through GoDaddy. Right now I have created a subdomain and setup forwarding to the public IP - which works for the outside world but when on the internet network it can't load the page because it's pointing to the public IP. I'm not very good with this kind of stuff, I just want to be able to use the url crm.mysite.com to get to the solution no matter if it is inside or outside of the network. Thank you in advance, and sorry if I didn't provide enough detail. -Dan
  12. CWP XML Authentication

All, Getting my hands dirty with CWP XML for the first time. Running FMS13 What i want in the end to for FMGo to exchange data with FMS13 via xml rather than having to open a FileMaker session as such on FMS13 from FMGo : very shaky internet connection on both ends... So i'm finding that activating cwp xml is not so terrible in the end and even getting to like the way it works. The only thing i cant get to understand is authentication: >tests from a web browser accessing a URL in the vein of http://someHost/fmi/xml/fmresultset.xml?-db=someDB_db&-lay=myLayout&-findallworks okwhen granting xml permissions to guest account > expectably, disabling permissions on guest account and granting on some named users (or directory based group) prompts Basic HTTP Authentication to bring the usual login dialog up; Works fine when inputing adequate credentials: the xml feed displays as it should. > Now, what if the client was not a manned web browser but a scripted application ? I have tried a very basic script in FileMaker Pro to "Insert from URL" the very same feed: if Guest account is xml enabled, it works a snap.. If guest is xml disabled and named acocunt is xml enabled, then i get an error : 1631| Connection failed. So..... How the heck does one specify credentials along to open some kind of a secured session, as - of course - leaving the ******* guest account open for free browsing is just not an option... Is it feasible or is the feature simply limited and I should turn to paid products such as restFM or 360Works-MirrorSync ? Many thanks ahead!
  13. We have just released a new plugin called "Synergize". This is a revolutionary plugin that allows you to use full web technologies within FileMaker Pro, including PHP. It supports the SQL command set supported by the FileMaker engine when using ODBC. You can use it for creating portals without the need for relationships (just name the database, table and fields you want to display), or use Javascript and PHP for creating graphical environments for charting, scheduling, (seehttp://fmscheduler.com/) a graphical webmail client, bar codes (including QR Codes), or any other web based technology within FileMaker Pro 13. Synergize has is it's own webserver integrated within the plugin. There is also a 64 Bit Server Based Synergize plugin that alleviates the need for the FileMaker Web API for Custom Web Publishing and is 2.5 time faster. More information, a video overview and a demo download can be found here.. here: http://www.synergizefm.com/
  14. We have a (fortunately) backup server we are trying to bring up and we testing our PHP/CWP solutions on it as the last step. Up to this point, everything seemed to be working fine: all the canned server tests (well, IWP and CWP) had worked OK; a couple of add-ons appeared to be working fine; client access was good; custom IWP solutions were good. Then we ran into a problem with the CWP solutions that we have. We have a login system where you start at an Index page, it reroutes you Login if you aren't logged in. The initial redirection and showing of the login page works OK. But when you log in, it apparently fails to authenticate you and just returns error: "XML error: Not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1" (or something like that). The failed login attempt doesn't show up in the FMS logs, either. So it is almost as if it isn't even contacting the server. These CWP pages are working fine under the live server (thankfully), which is configured very similarly: Windows 2008 R2 FMSA 12.05 SSL two plugins that run as tomcat processes IIS 7.5 (using URL re-write for HTTPS redirection) We have even had them running on an OSX based server without problems. I think that I discovered the apparent cause of the CWP problems, at least, but I would like to know WHY, and how to fix it if someone knows: I had to remove the 'hostspec' definition from the dbaccess.php file we use. remove the 'hostspec' definition from "dbaccess.php" = works define 'hostspec' in "dbaccess.php" = fails remove the 'hostspec' definition from "dbaccess.php" = works I found this because the canned FMS CWP test does not use a 'hostspec' definition. I suspect that it may have something to do with the php.ini or various other FMS configuration files around there. You see, we didn't have SSL installed at first, but installed it after FMS was setup. So during the installation of SSL, I have previously discovered that there are a few files you have to manually adjust (I posted about them here), even if you do a redeployment. But, it could also be because of some IIS redirection issue, it seems. Any ideas? Thanks, Justin
  15. Introduction to FileMaker CWP I've started a new blog on my site where I'm going to be making posts related to the Atlanta FileMaker Developers Group meetings as well as other FileMaker tips and techniques. Our meeting for July was about FileMaker CWP, so I've written a getting started guide for CWP as my first post. Please let me know if this is useful or if you have any feedback. Thank you!
  16. SSL breaks PHP/CWP?

Having a new problem with setting up FMServer 12. Whenever I turn on the SSL-redirect on the web server (using Server.app - i.e. all HTTP traffic goes to HTTPS) the CWP/PHP test breaks. Turn it off, it works fine. Turn it on, it breaks. PHP/CWP Test is arrived at from the FMS Admin Console 'Technology Test' page: localhost:16000/test. It can be opened using the button on the Admin Console, too. Somewhat curiously, the IWP test works fine under either condition: IWP Home page also loads correctly after logging out. Any ideas what is going on with the SSL to cause it to break? Seems like it might be a configuration issue with the web server, but we have a 2nd server configured nearly identically (as closely as two OSes can be configured after going through the various install processes) and it works fine with this setup (HTTP redirected to HTTPS). Thanks, J
  17. We have a CWP website that is successfully hosted remotely. We have a brand new Mac Mini Server with FMS 12 installed. Everything seems to be jiving correctly, API calls work, etc. We are moving this site to our internal server for modifications/testing. However, throughout the site, the previous programmer(s) used a lot of $_SERVER['document_root'].'/PathToIncludeFile' syntax to specify includes and requires. This is not working properly on the internal server. When the $_SERVER['document_root'] is called I get this: "Failed opening required 'cms/db_cms.php' (include_path='.:/Library/FileMaker Server/Web Publishing/publishing-engine/php/mountain lion/lib/php')". As you can see, the include path is completely wrong and looking into the FM install, not the website root. I have spent many hours trying to resolve this issue. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!!
  18. We have a two machine deployment on Windows Server 2008 R2 with IIS running FMS 12 v4 and our php apps quit after about 10 minutes. After restarting the worker system it works for 10 minutes and then again quits. The error message displayed in the log viewer after restarting for Web Publishing Core is "webuser PHP 401 565 when querying the database. This continues for about 10 minutes and then the browser displays a 500 internal server error and all 3 of the php apps stop working. Any suggestions appreciated.
