Hi...I have created a database using a "modified" anchor buoy method and so far everything works great...but...I have a portal in a "join table" that works fine...however, my button that is supposed to open the record in the portal row does not function...it returns nothing. The records are indeed related (see RG) as the fields show up from the related table without relational conflicts, but this button that is supposed to open the "library" table with the related record pulled up simply does nothing. I have attached the DB. Also a screen shot of the table where the portal is (it is actually a join table layout, this may be the problem). I don't understand how the button (with the little arrow) does not go to the table that the actual portal record, which IS related because I see it show up on the portal row...what is not right here? Thanks! Todd **MusicalAmericaPRESUB copy.fmp12
jraquel posted a topic in PortalsHi, New to this so not sure what is needed to help me. I have several portals in my database and they all have filter and sort settings. All the settings are the same on each portal (just pulling from different layouts). Each portal has a button with a script in it that has it "go to the related record." All of my portals and go to related things work great and quick an no issues. Yesterday, I added a new portal and a new go to related and updated my relationships, etc. everything mimics the same settings on all my other portals. BUT for some reason this one portal and go to related are lagging big time and everytime I do anything that affects that portal I get the "find in progress. processing query..." and it takes several minutes to process. I do not get this my other portals and I'm a bit confused and feeling frustrated that I'm having trouble with JUST the one portal. HELP! What do you all need from me to help me with this?
I'm having an issue where when I use the GTRR script step it sometimes, but not always, returns Error 101 even though it found the related records it was supposed to. Anyone else had this issue? Since Error 101 is returning false positives, is my only way to check for no related records being found by GTRR to check if it's in the right table following the GTRR? Thanks!
I have created a "Student" database with the following tables... Student Groups Grouplineitem See attached picture of layout Working from the "Student" layout, I want to create a portal on the left side of the layout and have it list all the students names who are in a certain group. For example, if I want to view just the "Band" members, I would have a global field with the name of the group. Once selected, it would then view just the "Band" students. I have been able to get this relation set up. My problem is I want to click on a students name and have it go to their record in the current layout which is the "Student" layout and table. I cannot get this to work using the "Go to Related Record". I really need to keep this on the Student's layout using the student's table. Any suggestions? Thanks, Sam
