  1. Hello, I am getting an error while sync, "Last sync failed: com.prosc.sync.AbortException: Failure while recording changes from FileMaker Server 192.168.8.150/sync_Information: java.sql.SQLException: IO error: position 13016373" Is it possible to skip this one particular table in MirrorSync sync to test the other tables?
  2. If I wanted to script a mobile device update process, is it possible to directly access the download link and not have to go through the intermediate trigger page?. I would like to grab a copy of the hosted file and insert it into a container. Currently hitting the download link returns the "Download file is ready and should automatically start downloading now." Then later a JS forced download. C
  3. I tried to install MirrorSync 3.17 today on a MacOS with 10.12.3 and FMS 15.0.3.308. The installer is hanging at about 80% progress at "Running package scripts..." Is there an installer log file that I can examine? In addition I noted in the docs the restriction against multiple users sharing the same file on the same device: http://docs.360works.com/index.php/MirrorSync_advanced_topics#Can_I_share_a_device_among_multiple_users.3F I am wondering about the details of this restriction and is it possible for multiple users to share the same db file on the same device if there is no record filtering or record-level access features enabled?
  4. My use case is such that mobile users need some records that have containers. The hub has containers stored externally. Deploying to the mobile device breaks the container. Triggering the Server side record will 'refresh' the mobile container and display its contents (after a sync) Can I force a table (or found set) to sync from the server to the mobile device WITHOUT forcing those images to download to all the other mobile devices?. Each iPad will have its own set of records. What are some options here? Am I forced to tickle the containers server side forcing a download or any device that would normally download them? Is there a way to force a download of just this one table and not affect the others? or the modTimeStamp? cheers
  5. We have recently released versions 3.14 - 3.16 of MirrorSync with improvements for recovery mode, high-volume syncs, and rebuilding sync data. Overall, the reliability of MirrorSync has greatly improved, and the speed of SQL and server-to-server syncs have increased significantly! Immediately after the release of 3.14 and 3.15, we were able to identify and fix a few quirks resulting in an even more reliable version with 3.16. In 3.16, we even added a few additional features including the ability to pre-populate databases for server-to-server syncs with non-FileMaker databases, faster initial syncs, and new support for re-importing a new configuration over an existing one, which is very useful in a vertical market solution deployment. This is a free update for current users. For those new to MirrorSync, the server license is free and ships with one free configuration of FileMaker Pro or FileMaker Go syncing with FileMaker Server and one free device allowance. All additional configurations and devices are available for purchase. MirrorSync can sync between any combination of FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Go, FileMaker Server, SQL database (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or any database that supports JDBC), Salesforce, and Amazon RedShift. To download the current version, please visit the MirrorSync product page For a complete list of changes, please visit our MirrorSync changelog

  7. After a quick search, I couldn't find anything about MirrorSync and FileMaker Cloud. Is MirrorSync compatible with FM Cloud? Found it in the MS documentation, yes with an asterisk.
  8. Hello there, I'm just investigating on 2 issue I have on sync 2 DB, 1 on the server and 1 on the iPad that are set to use a Spoke Db in the middle tier. Basically the sync is set to copy ALL the data from some tables on the server to the local db and send some data from the local db to the end server db. For some reason, on a large table, called Articles, with more than 130k records, the sync does not copy all the record for some users. There is no 'filter' based on user on the end db, and I run a pre-populate sync on the spoke db that copied all 130k records. When the sync is run for that specific user, the final result on the iPad is that the sync DELETES 12k records for no apparent reason. In addition, there is a Global table that has always 1 records and is get from the server to the client. But I found some times that there are several records on that table (more than 10) on the server, even if the sync is set to write on the spoke and not viceversa for that table. I have the suspect that are written from the sync. Is it possible? Thanks in advance, Gianluca
  9. Hello there, Is there a way to download the mirrorsync link directly on an iPad? In my final workflow I'll send the link with the newest version and users will open it directly from the ipad. Is there any integration with even other 3rd parties software to download the file on the ipad and then run it from Filemaker? Thanks.
  10. After upgrading to MirrorSync 3 from 2, I can no longer sync container fields. During the reconfiguration process, I get the tooltip in the uploaded image below. The tooltip says "Neither field is writable. This could be because they are calculation or summary fields. It could also be caused by field-level validation or custom access privileges.". These container fields are not calc or summary fields. There is no field level validation or custom access privileges that I know if. They are full access, and the fields have not changed since my last MirrorSync 2 configuration. Please help!
  11. Hi, I have MirrorSync(2.6) configuration with FileMaker Server to FileMaker Server Configuration. I Stop the synchronisation, I stop FileMaker server spoke , I transfer on the new one... I have to change the ip configuration on the Spoke Server but MirrorSync ask me to install with a clean DataBase .... But it's impossible because we have a lot of Container Field ... and it will take to much time... What can i do to not have this problem. Thank you Marc
  12. Is it possible to sync data in a Filemaker portal to an external MySQL database? For example, an invoice listing multiple products stored in another table (assuming I only want the information in the portal, such as qty, name, price). Or do we have to manually sync all related tables behind the scenes and then re-create the relationships using joins later? Thank you!
  13. With MirrorSync 3 set to come out at DevCon, what is going to happen to people who have existing MirrorSync 2 licenses? We're about to buy a MirrorSync license. Do we need to wait for 3 to be released first in order to avoid an immediate upgrade two weeks later? Thanks.

  15. Hello Is it possible to use MirrorSinc with an App built with iOs Development Kit?
  16. Hello there, I installed today mirror sync as a trial on a filemaker server to give it a try. After Installation and reboot of the server (basically it wasn't responding) I logged in on mirror sync and start creating a new configuration, but It gives me an error when I try to access to the database server. What am I missing?
  17. I'm sure this is covered somewhere but my search didn't turn anything up. Is there a flag in MirrorSync that I can use to trigger a script if there is a successful sync? I believe I saw this somewhere but can't locate it. In particular I'm looking to trigger a script on FM Go. Thanks!
  18. In case you haven't heard, FileMaker Inc. has released a new tool which allows you to create a native iOS application from a FileMaker solution. To learn more about the FileMaker iOS App SDK, read this FileMaker help article. We're pleased to announce that we have tested MirrorSync with FileMaker iOS App SDK and it is fully compatible! MirrorSync is already the easiest way to add sync to your FileMaker solution, and the process of integrating MirrorSync is no different with the FileMaker iOS App SDK. We are really excited about this new tool from FileMaker, which now allows you to: build a custom native iOS application for your client or company to use with iPhone or iPad distribute the application to users without the need to first download and install FileMaker Go distribute the application directly to user devices with Apple's Mobile Device Management (MDM) and TestFlight, used to distribute beta versions of the application There are a couple of things you will need to create your native iOS application: FileMaker Developer subscription, which will give you access to the tool itself Apple Developer subscription, which allows you to set application identification and provisioning profile used to actually deploy the application onto an iOS device A Mac with the latest version of Xcode installed: Currently the process of putting the application together can be done only on a Mac Let us know if you'd like our assistance in turning your FileMaker solution into a native iOS application - we would be happy to help! Just send a message to infobox@360works.com

  20. Does anyone have a link to a short reference on updating MirrorSync settings after making changes to the Filemaker solution (other than the original MirrorSync documentation)?
  21. I have a client with several iPads in the field. One today failed to sync, though the others have been syncing fine. I had him close the FileMaker file, quit Go and all other apps, and restart his iPad before syncing again. Same error. I restarted the WPE and the Tomcat server. Same error. Had him restart again while I restarted WPE and Tomcat. Same error. Others had since synced fine. Below is the error we are getting. I redacted the domain and client's IP address. I told him to click "Report Bug" so you should have that.
  22. Using the following configuration: * FileMaker Server 13 on Mac Mini, FileMaker Pro v13 on remote MacBook Pro, MirrorSync 2.406 build 8009 We are seeing the following message when trying to sync using MirrorSync. 'You will not be able to successfully sync. MirrorSync is out of date or missing some script steps. Would you like to save changes anyway?' I have deleted the configuration and started over, then repasted the script steps into the MirrorSync script. I have not been able to repaste the layout as MirrorSync does not request it second time over - does this contain some reference to the original configuration and if so, how do I reset it. Any ideas?
  23. I have a solution where the master database is copied and deployed to 3 laptops and 3 iPads for offline use. I need to add new functionality that will only be used on the laptops. If I add that functionality and it requires new fields to be added to the database and the MirrorSync layouts, can I copy the master and deploy it to the laptops only, or do I need to deploy a new copy to all 6 devices? In other words, if didn't deploy a new copy to the iPads, would the sync from the iPads to the master fail after adding the functionality?
  24. I'm looking for some sort of instruction on setting up a sync between Microsoft SQL Server and a FM Go solution on iPad. I spoke with someone from 360works last summer. What I remember from that conversation was that it was fairly simple. First setup the sync on Filemaker Server, then somehow port it over to SQL Server. But after going through the Filemaker Server setup, it just doesn't seem apparent to me how to follow through with the next steps. Also related to this, I remember tinkering with this last summer and ran into a roadblock. We are running a fairly old version of Microsoft SQL Server and apparently some driver was missing from MirrorSync that would allow it to communicate with my older SQL Server. (we are running MS SqlServer 2000 - 8.00.2039) Does this ring a bell with anyone? Because of other applications running on this server, we cannot update it at this time.
  25. In the past few days, something has changed that is making conflict resolution not functional. We've created a demo video that details the issue below.  We've set conflict resolution to user managed (see screenshot).  When detecting a conflict, MirrorSync correctly brings up the conflict resolution window, then opens the web viewer (on iOS) or browser (on Mac/PC). But the screen is blank ie. the url is unreadable or unreachable.  To our knowledge nothing has changed on our server. We've tested with 3 different Mirrorsync configurations, and we get the same issue on all three.  To replicate:  1) Create or modify a record on iPad, sync. This works fine. 2) Modify a record on iPad, and modify the same record on server. This fails, as per the above (white screen of blankness).  Thoughts?  thanks!    Demo of issue: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o0qo26fi1dtt785/mirrorsync-resolution-bug.mov?dl=0   Conflict Resolution email:  michael     Jan 29, 2015 5:13:07 PM com.prosc.mirror.config.server.SyncServer doSync CONFIG: === Sync detailed results ===  Changes to FileMaker Server 50.255.20.185/Sync_Content in 50.255.20.185 / ContentManagement_mirrorsync-delete (FileMaker Server) Inserts: 40D6B1EA-72FC-47E3-83B2-2ABCD7C9EF01    Jan 29, 2015 5:13:07 PM com.prosc.mirror.config.server.SyncServer$4 call INFO: Sync for MirrorSync / ContentManagement_mirrorsync-delete between 50.255.20.185 / ContentManagement_mirrorsync-delete (FileMaker Server) and Michael Ashley’s iPad's Go_iPad 13.0.8( username 'Admin', running Go_iPad 13.0.8 on 10.1.10.27, ping time: 188 ms, machine name: 'Michael Ashley’s iPad' ) 1/29/15 5:13:07 PM: Finished sync with no warnings or errors in 1.946 seconds.
