  1. When updating any 360works-plug-in it is deactivated after any update. Sometimes it does not even is replaced. I have created batch-scripts to shut off FileMaker and then remove any 360works-plug-in. After that my user(s) have to restart the application again and the new version of (any) 360works plug-in is installed correctly and activated automatically. I also use other plug-ins by Troi, Dacons en Goya simultaniously and these work perfectly fine and also will be updated and activated when a newer version is being installed. Only the 360works-plug-ins fail to update everytime. I use the script-step "Install plug-in file" so nothing exotic is done there. The problems occur on windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 2008 and 2012. On the 32 and 64 bits versions (2012 - 64-bit only) Any suggestions or anyone else has the same trouble?
  2. The FMP 15 crashes randomly after every 2-3 days on windows systems. I have checked the issue for the fault module in event log (Fault Module Name: mshtml.dll) and some place i checked it was suggested to reinstall the application, which i have tried multiple times. But the crash still occurs. Is there any possible solutions to avoid it ? Does it have anything to with the application running a hosted filemaker files or is it a system issue ? Thanks for help in advance. 4. Hi everyone, We have a newly deployed OS X 10.10.5 Server with FMS14 installed with only 3 databases hosted, all accessible via Web Direct. Now some of our customers are experiencing difficulties with even accessing our solutions, which we have narrowed down to local network problems at our customers. The problem is, the login window is not showing, and therefore they can't access the databases. Now, the problem is somehow browser based.. I went through the login process with a customer, which was sitting with Windows 8.1 / IE.. Now when trying to connect to the database the customer gets the following message "Failed to load the bootstrap javascript ./VAADIN/vaardinBootstrap.js" I then tried to connect to the database through Chrome, which worked perfectly fine! Is there something I can do for the customer or on our Server, to prevent this message for future customers? Best regards Christoffer
  5. I am trying to install supercontainer (2.93) on a Windows server 2012 R2. The Windows installer did not finish, so I tried a manual install with the instructions provided at docs.360works.com. When I try to save the URL rewrite rule I get an error "The data in the page is invalid". When I try to use the option to start SuperContainerServer.jar I get an error "Problem starting server". Any suggestions on what to do here. Thanks Joost Kingma
  6. I'm trying to execute a windows cmd script server-side from client machines. I've got this working locally using Send Event, but I found that this command isn't compatible with server schedules, which I believe would be the best way to do this in conjunction with a flag. The specifics of the script I'm wanting to deploy are: We use Google Apps for our user accounts, of which we have thousands. We currently use Google Apps Manager, a cmd tool for making remote changes to accounts and other aspects of Google apps, on a linux server as part of an automated workflow that is triggered by Filemaker/ODBC etc. However, occasionally the process trips up, or a user needs changes to be made to their account so I'm wanting to create an interface in Filemaker that the team can use to execute a server-side script that performs actions on a record-by-record basis. E.g., one of the script steps is Send Event [""; "aevt"; "odoc"; "cmd.exe /c gam create user " & Enrolled Courses::Gmail & " firstname " & Contact Details::First Name &" lastname " & Contact Details::Last Name & " password " & Enrolled Courses::Password] - this works when run locally on the server, but not from clients due (I presume) to the Send Event step. We can't install the command line tool on each of the client machines due to security implications, and also because they're a mix of macs & PCs and the server is Windows, so I really need to be able to execute the cmd.exe server-side (although there is a Python flavour of the tool, if that opens up any options). If there any way to do this that also allows passing the required variables? Many thanks in advance. Paul
  7. San Diego, CA - April 12, 2016 - Productive Computing, Inc., a Platinum member of the FileMaker Business Alliance, is proud to announce the release of Vessel Service Solutions (VSS) version 2. This vertical solution was designed for the marine assistance industry and operates as a virtual command center to manage vessel assistance orders. VSS version 2 offers additional features and modules, a completely redesigned UI, and improved processes for users. What is VSS? VSS was built with a “paperless and efficient” philosophy and allows users to fully digitalize the entire tow order process from beginning to end. As soon as distress calls are received, dispatchers have the ability to send mobile orders straight from the office to in-field captains. The captain receives the order on an iPad and, after assisting the boater, updates and submits the order to dispatch for final processing. VSS also allows invoices and items to be pushed directly to QuickBooks via the FM Books Connector. What's New? VSS version 1 provided companies with a customizable framework they could employ to achieve a paperless solution. Version 2 has been crafted with industry input and takes the entire tow order process to the next level by offering the user a truly comprehensive solution. Dispatch can send, receive, and submit orders for payment without printing a single document. Using FileMaker Go, captains can receive, update, and send orders from their iPads. They can even perform data entry while at sea without an internet connection. Version 2 has expanded functionality to allow users to maintain fuel logs, maintenance logs, maintenance schedules, time sheets, and pull various reports. As with most FileMaker products, this solution allows for customization, including the ability to personalize all terms, disclaimers, notes and signature requirements, company information, tower ID, and company logo in the modules. "We're quite excited about the new and improved VSS, because this dynamic solution enables users to efficiently and digitally dispatch, track, and manage tow orders, eliminating the need for time-consuming paperwork, resulting in improved accuracy and turnaround time. We've had a lot of support from industry leaders, and we're pleased to be delivering something we think will continue to greatly help the boat towing industry" - Marc Larochelle, Chief Executive Officer, Productive Computing, Inc. 8. I am having trouble connecting to the admin console from another computer. I know that I need to connect with https://ipaddress:16000, but I'm not having any success. When on the server computer I can connect using localhost:16001. The problem seems to be that https isn't starting. I am running the server that is included as part of a TechNet membership on a Windows 8 64 bit computer with 4 gb of RAM. I didn't have a web server setup on the machine originally but the install seems to have started it. When I checked the settings in IIS manager the FM Web Site didn't have https activated. I changed the advanced settings but it still doesn't start https after a reboot. I think it is also preventing me from uploading a database from FileMaker Pro. I have attached a screenshot of IIS Manager with the settings. Has anyone had a similar problem or know what I might do to correct this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

  10. Hi My scenario is, when I used to RUN a Import (Folder with Import only the reference) script from a iMac mini to remote Windows File server, it used to take 4-8 hours. But when started using the same script from Same server(Windows), it started to take more than 24 hours. Only things I have changed: Import from Windows FS ( Files of type Windows from OS X) Modified the Folder location to local server. Any suggestions or known issues.. Pls note: Previously we used Filemaker 10-11 now using 13-14 in both client server. The old Mac was OS X (10.5.8) with FM Advanced 10. And the old remote server was a Physical windows 2008 server with FM 10 server running as well as Fileserver to hold the files which where been imported as reference.
  11. I have a client that is running Windows 8.1 (fully updated). FileMaker Pro 14.05 (64bit) is also installed. The program will open and show you the Launch Center. However, when you click any solution in the Launch center or use the "Browse" button to open a file, The launch center disappears but the FileMaker file never opens. Only an empty screen is shown. No error message is given. FileMaker is still running in the TaskBar, but the only way to get back to the Launch Center is to quit FileMaker and open it again. We've tried running all software updates for Windows 8.1 and uninstalling / reinstalling FileMaker Pro. Any ideas as to what might be causing the problem or what to try next?
  12. Hello, I am using Windows OS for my solution. I have a layout in list view showing events. An admin user is to add groups of people as attendees of these events by pressing a button to run a script. The script Freezes the window, changes layout, adds the attendees in the relevant table and returns the user to the original layout. This all works well, except for when the script returns to the original layout and unfreezes the window, the scroll position of the active row (the record that the user is editing) jumps to the bottom of the screen. I would like the scroll position to remain static or be returned to where it was before the script changes the layout - so a change is imperceptible to the user. The Window Scroll options seem limited to top, bottom, pg up, pg down. I have also tried having the script open a new window before changing the layout, but you then see the script working - if only briefly - as the new window comes to the front. Has anybody got any suggestions on how I can return the scroll position to exactly where it was before the script executes? Thanks in advance, Ben
  13. I'm using a web viewer to display a html webpage that allows the user to interact with it via java scripts. The web page works on a Mac running FM13 and FM14 with Mac OS X 10.10 and 10.11. When I try to view the web page in a web viewer on Windows 7 running with IE11 installed, the webpage doesn't allow any interaction with the java scripts, and the web page renders incorrectly. I'm running FM13 and FM14 in Windows 7, and they both render the webpage incorrectly. When I copy the HTML out of FileMaker and paste it into a file and open it directly in IE11, I get a security warning on the bottom of the window that says "Internet Explorer restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls", when I click Allow, the page renders correctly. If the Allow button is not clicked, the page would render exactly like it does FileMaker's web viewer. So it looks like FileMaker is suppressing this popup and just showing the web page with the scripts disabled. I checked Internet Options in IE and all relevant scripting options are enabled, but every time I try to display the page in IE directly, I get the security warning. So I'm assuming if I can get the page to display in IE without the prompt I can get the page to display in FIleMaker. What options need to get set to allow the scripts to run? Why does it work on Mac OS X and not Windows 7?
  14. Has anyone else experienced any installation issues of the latest FM14 64 bit windows ODBC Driver? Now matter how I try to run the installer, it seems to flash on the screen and then kill itself...If I can get this to work, Next will be the connection string
  15. I develop in an environment with a 50/50 mix of Macs and PCs and have many scripts that either export or save records out to a directory on a server. On PCs, this is very straightforward: just enter the output file path and the file saves, no other interaction required. On Macs, the only way this works is if the specific drive the directory is in gets mapped to each user's computer. This is problematic for a bunch of reasons, namely that it means extra steps and we have users who regularly delete the mounted drives and then wonder why the scripts stop working. Is there a trick for Macs that I'm just missing?
  16. LS, Since FM12 I deploy plugins with the install plugin script step FM provides. This works like a charm in 12.x and 13.x. 14.x refuses to install plugins with these script steps under Win7 and Win10. Has anyone else had problems with this ? I now just manually install the plugins for my test machines, but this kind of sucks. There seems to have been a change as well in the way/time the plugins load as I now get Troi Dialog saying it is not registered, but it it registered when my start scripts is finished loading. Using all the latest versions of my plugins. Thanks in advance !
  17. Hi all, In light of FileMaker 14 (the 64-bit version in particular ), I have had to update some custom plugins that were created with ScriptMaster. However, the new plugins will not show up in FileMaker: First, I upgraded to ScriptMaster Pro 4.42 and used the new UI file. I transferred my functions' code and relevant .jars. I then registered and exported the plugin for Mac and 64-bit Windows. The Mac version worked right away, ruling out problems with my java code. The .fmx64 file however, would not show up in Filemaker at all. I tried installing from a container in a hosted solution, copying the file to the application directory, and copying it to the other plugin locations. My question: Is there any issue with 64-bit Windows plugins and FileMaker Pro Advanced 14? It won't show up in the Preferences > Plugins list at all. All of this was done to fix FileMaker's rejection of my old 32-bit plugin. Thanks - Joseph
  18. When FileMaker sorts records it happens on the client machine. Consequently, sorting can be a very painful process for users over a slow connection to a database. In this article we show a very fast way in which records can be presented to the user in descending creation order, without sorting delays... Read the Full Article Here…
  19. How do you configure your 'automatic update' settings for Windows & Java? Why? The OS I'm currently managing is Win Server 2012.
  20. Although the likelihood that any of my clients are using Macs has increased in the last decade, I still have a few clients who use Windows. The only time I launch Windows (running within VirtualBox on my laptop) is to test software. I absolutely never use it for anything else. Usually I'm testing FileMaker solutions, although there are occasions when I'm testing web sites as well. I used to keep up a bit with the Windows world, but that's no longer the case. Given that, I have absolutely no idea which version of Windows I should use. I'm using Windows 7 right now, and would like knowledgable opinions on which version I should use, 7, 8 or 10. Whichever version it is will be running in VirtualBox and only used to launch FileMaker 11/12/13/14 or one of the various web browsers. 90% of the time it'll just be FileMaker 14 Advanced. Given the above, do any of you Windows experts out there recommend moving beyond Windows 7? Thanks
  21. I would greatly appreciate any knowlege about the feasibility of a potential project: Is it possible to build runtime solutions for both Mac and Windows that incorporate XML imports? (Assuming the requirements for both runtime and XML import are met in the Filemaker App.) If anyone has experience with this, could you let me know if it's: Not possible. Possible but you really don't wanna go there. Relatively straight forward.
  22. Hi all, I am having issues with seeing the databases and schedules listed in Admin Console on FMS13. The white box on the bottom of the screen seems to have enlarged covering the listed items. I have tried switching browsers with no luck. Any ideas?
  23. 24. I wasn't sure exactly which forum to drop this question, but here goes: I would like for my users to be able to connect to a remote database directly from an icon on the Windows desktop. Is there a way to pass in the (remote) file to open to make that happen? Thanks! Ryan
  25. I have an old FM3 application for an agriculture program that has been migrated to FMP11 via FMP5. In the app there is a record layout in one file (Exhibitor) that includes a portal allowing modification of related child records from another table in another file (Animals). There is a button in the portal layout to take a user from the portal in the Exhibitor layout to an Animal layout in the Animals file, showing the record from the Exhibitor's portal. The script fired on the button click scrolls the records in the Animal file to the current record in the portal, then runs Select Window to switch focus to the other layout, with the fields populated with that record. This target layout also contains a portal to ANOTHER child table in another file (Classes), with related records for the Animal item in this layout. Sounds simple, and this configuration works fine in the original FM3 and converted FMP5 versions, but when it was updated to FMP11 (.fp7), when the user attempts to alter records in this Animal layout, a warning dialog pops stating "This record cannot be modified in this window because it is already being modified in a different window". It seems that the Animal record is still locked for modification from the Exhibitor portal and changes cannot be made to either the Animal record or the Classes table via the portal. The current workaround for this is to run the script on a button in the Animal layout that returns to the Exhibitor layout (the reverse of the script that got us here), which seems to unlock the record. I've looked into Commit record but that doesn't seem to work, and I tried moving the Select Window command to a script in the Animal window and calling the script from the Exhibitor file. If anyone knows how/why the record remains locked after changing layout contexts I would appreciate any insights! Dave
