MikeKD
Hi folks, I'm going to roll out my database to another user in the next week or so. I've solved a few problems to do with this, but it would be good to see what I've overlooked! Auto serial numbers - I'll need to add 1000 or something to theirs so we don't clash when we merge data. To update the solution I'm planning to create a clone, copy it to their computer and copy their records to it. - this seems to be the most beginner level way to do it! (will this actually merge out data, or would I be better of creating a blank clone?) At the end of the year we'll hopefully have wifi so will be able to use common data through a server solution or separation. What've I missed?! Cheers, Mike
Agnes Riley
Hi Mike, Maybe GoZink or MirrorSync are better options. What you described in number 2 is a recipe for headaches. Do you have no Internet at all, where you are for the two computers?
MikeKD
Basically no internet - we can connect through ethernet, but that's no good as we need to be mobile; following kids round the dept and giving them grades etc..
MikeKD
I've had a look at MirrorSync & GoZink. They look excellent TBH - is either more highly recommended for a novice than the other? MirrorSync is cheaper!...
