Browser Autofill

I would like to use the Autofill feature that is built into browsers. In Safari if you go to a form field that has a name tag like the following:

<input type="text" name="FirstName" />

When you start typing your name, Safari will ask you if you want to Autofill the rest of your info. If you choose Autofill it will fill in all the fields that your computer knows (Last name, address, email, phone).

The problem is that in my PHP code the name tag has code for connecting to FileMaker, like the following:

<input type="text" name="<?php echo getFieldFormName('hh_pt_name_first', 0, $record);?>" value="<?php echo $record->getField('hh_pt_name_first', 0) ;?>">

So the Autofill will sometimes pop up and if you click Autofill it puts the information in the wrong fields.

Does anyone know how to make the Autofill work?

You would have to make the actual field names in the database match what AutoFill is expecting... Then, when the PHP is rendered to the browser, it would 'see' name="NameFirst"

      This is a wide open question without a correct answer. Maybe it will foster comments & suggestions.
      Over several years, at another job in another state, I cobbled together a FileMaker solution that's now an essential part of the way that business operates. That project consists of several haphazard fixes and relationships held together with baling wire and chewing gum, because we kept ading functionality as it occurred to us, and because my skill level was changing as the project grew.
      Now that I'm in my next life, I'm ready to start the project from scratch and try to license it as an off-the-shelf database to businesses in this line. I'm convinced that the right form for such a project is a browser interface.
      So my question: is there such a thing as a solution, sitting on an FMS install, that's solely accessed (by its users) via a browser window - and doesn't feel clunky?
      If I were a newborn, just wanting to make this project, I'd assume that the best thing was to learn PHP & Ruby & JavaScript. I'm not assuming FM is the best way just because it's what I know, but et cetera et cetera.
      All input, as always, is welcome.

      Is there any way to get autofill in the browser to autofill the username and password? I've created a guest landing page for the user to be able to input their login info, but it still doesn't autofill.

      It is the number 1 complain of the users of my solution. I really wish that I could solve it.
      (Please don't tell me it's a security issue, even both of my BANKS let me save my user id, if i'm so inclined)

      CLOSE the connection when close the browser tab:
      Mac:   Firefox, Chrome, Safari.
      Win7:  Firefox, Chrome, not tested on IE.

      DO NOT CLOSE the connection when close the browser tab:
      IOS last Ipad mini 2:   Chrome, Safari.

      Hello
      Let's start with the famous introduction "I'm not an expert" but I've been around filemaker for a while.
      I'm on a Mac FileMaker Pro ADV 14.
      I would love to know HOW can we populate automatically the Estimates Bill To and Ship To information as soon as we select the "Company" (Account) since this information is already filled in the Account Layout. Can we do exactly the same based on BillTo_Name_First or BillTo_Name_Last ? But WAIT, there is MORE:
      I have Business as Clients and each Business is an represented by ACCOUNT
      I have people as clients (CONTACTS) from different places
      Individuals (Contacts) classified grouped under ACCOUNT "eBay Clients" Individuals (Contacts) classified grouped under ACCOUNT "Website A Clients" Individuals (Contacts) classified grouped under ACCOUNT "Website B Clients" I want to be able to autofill Estimates Bill To and Ship To information based on the CURRENT ACCOUNT (from the field labelled Company) BUT be able to choose different CONTACTS from the same company.
      I believe this has to be done via a "script trigger" (something I learned from the videos) but I believe it should be 2 scripts that will execute based on whatever I have no idea !

      WOW - that was a long one, SORRY about that but ANY HELP will be much appreciated.
      Cheers

      Can't seem to find this out --

      If I am viewing a web page in webviewer (in Filemaker) is there any way to get that exact URL from the webviewer and open it in an external browser (i.e. Safari, Chrome)? I know the starting page already, but the user may have navigated away from that page when they want to open the external browser.

      I have searched this site for an answer and also other FM resources on the web. Maybe I am using the wrong search terms? Seems like a straightforward thing -- I am viewing a page in Filemaker and I need to open that page in a stand alone browser. Click a button and voila! (?)

      Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
