  1. Lines jumping to other positions

Hey jDu98a, thanks for the video, and figuring out what triggers it. This also helps explain why it has hasn't been affecting me as much lately, as I have become a lot better at navigating strictly with my keyboard, but it's good to know what causes it to help avoid line jumping till they fix it. Hopefully they fix it sooner rather than later, and some of the other bugs I've been experiencing. Like selecting a layout but being taken to the wrong one! But that is an issue for another post.
  2. SVG Icon Manager

Hey Bruce, this should help you out. Replace the calculated text field Icon::Generated_SVG with the calculation below. Then you need to replace field contents of the same field with the same calculation below, and all of the icons in my program will turn red, but still be able to be styled by Filemaker. "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?> ¶<svg version=\"1.2\" xmlns=\"http://www.w3.org/2000/svg\" xmlns:xlink=\"http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink\" ¶ x=\"0px\" y=\"0px\" width=\"50px\" height=\"50px\" viewBox=\"" & X & " " & Y & " " & Width & " " & Height & "\"> ¶<path fill=\"#FF0000\" class=\"fm_fill\" d=\"" & PathData & "\"/> ¶</svg>"You can replace #FF0000 with any color you want (Also works if you just type in css name colors like "blue"), but If you did white they wouldn't show up in my programs web viewer, and if you did black obviously they won't show up well in your button icon picker, so red is a good all around color that should work well for everything. I'll think about adding this by default if I ever get around to updating the file.
  3. SVG Icon Manager

Hey LaRetta I really love that idea of using a button bar to import icons from solution to solution. That is a much better way to transfer an icon library from one project to another! Thanks for sharing. Clause thanks for the tip about changing the fill color but still making the icons color changeable in FM I didn't know you could do that, but you might want to reconsider choosing white as the default fill. I know that the overwhelming majority of FM Developers use Mac, but on a Windows PC white is invisible as you can see in my screenshot. But like you said I'm sure I could manually change the fill to whatever color I want. Thanks!
  4. Lines jumping to other positions

I haven't had any problems with the calculation engine, just the new script workspace. It seems like it might have something to do with what version of filemaker the file was started in, as it seems when I work in older files.

They show up as black on windows too, but windows has a white background so they're really easy to see. I think it's probably just another quirk with FMP 14 that they hopefully fix soon. Also If you add them to the DefaultGlyphs folder in Filemakers system folders they show up as just another icon in all files, and they show up as grey just like a default, but it's probably not the best idea to mess with system folders.

I've also experienced this. It is really frustrating. It seems like Filemaker Pro 14 for windows is a lot buggier than it is on OSX. I can't believe how bad some things are in the Windows version. Hopefully they can fix them in the next update, because at the moment I haven't recommended a single client to upgrade yet.
  7. Hey Art, svg's are a new feature to Filemaker 14, so if you are using Filemaker 14, then to add svg's you need to go through the button setup dialog and then clicking the plus button to add new icons to the list.
  8. SVG Icon Manager

Oh that might be it. I haven't really tested adding svg's to already hosted files. Honestly I'm finding Filemaker 14 pretty buggy so I haven't been using it a ton, hopefully they fix a lot of the bugs soon. I don't know if anyone else is having problems with random scripts jumping around in the script workspace but it has been the bane of my existence! I figured out how to get a transparent svg icon for you. Not sure if it is the correct way to do it or anything but it seems to work for me. If you want to have the blank icon available in the icon manager you can just manually go to the "Utility_Icon" layout and adding a new record and setting the fields like the attached image shows. The only really import fields to set are highlighted. And if you just want the svg file I've attached that as well. Hopefully that helps! Thanks again for the kind words. Blank.svg
  9. SVG Icon Manager

Hey Charity glad you like it! Voltron is unfortunately not my real name, If it were I assure you I would definitely be a leader from a galaxy far far away! I just tried what you described on a Mac and PC, and they both show up fine after closing and reopening. I even tried deleting the SVG from it's folder and it still showed up in the icon picker. I'll see if I can think of any reason why this might be happening on yours, thanks for the feedback!
  10. Hey Pixi, thanks for the suggestions. I thought I had all the buttons tied to "Perform Script" and not Single Steps. The only one I can find is setting a favorite, which your correct I should change it. I'm not sure what you mean by the SVG resetting if it is grown to a certain size? It might be a Mac bug or something. I'm mostly developing on a PC. I'll have to pull out my Mac and test it a bit more on it as windows explorer and safari render very differently. I originally was going to show the icon sizes, but they don't really mean anything. Some have huge numbers, and some have tiny numbers but they all display exactly the same in filemaker, so it was kind of confusing to show the numbers. The only important thing was how much padding they have, and generally you don't have to edit them at all. I really like the idea of adding new Icons, it honestly didn't even cross my mind, but that would be very useful. Thanks again for your suggestions!
  11. Hey all, thanks for the info. It was helpful for setting up a little SVG Icon manager that I think a lot of people might find super helpful. If you want to check it out, the file contains around 4,000 icons and could be a very useful tool for developing I hope! You can get more info and download the file from here: http://www.indats.com/2015/06/15/indats-icon-manager/
  12. Hey everyone, I love how open the Filemaker Community is, and how much is shared freely, so I wanted to contribute. I created a database to manage SVG icons. The icons are all royalty free provided by Syncfusion and there are about 4,000 icons, all with search tags to make finding them super easy. You can find out more about the file, and download it here: http://www.indats.com/2015/06/15/indats-icon-manager/ Please let me know any feedback you have on the file, thanks!

  15. Comparison Operator Issue

If I'm understanding you correctly it should be a really simple fix. You just need to change your "and" to an "or". It sounds backwards but if you really think about it, it makes sense. test::Colour ≠ "Red" or test::Shape ≠ "Circle"or if this makes more sense to you, you can do the following which is a little easier to understand in my opinion. not (test::Colour = "Red" and test::Shape = "Circle")
