  2. I'm very new to FM Scripting so would be very grateful for any help in getting this off the ground. I have a FM database which I've connected to a MySQL DB via ODBC (Opencart). So far I have one table (Brands) which contain data which I need to populate two tables called oc_manufacturer & oc_url_alias using an automated script. Fields are: Brands::ManufacturerID (e.g 1) - copies RecordID to oc_manufacturer::manufacturer_id Brands::ManufacturerName (e.g Apple) - Copies the manufacturer name to oc_manufacturer::name Brands::ManufacturerLogoURL (e.g image/brands/apple/apple-logo.png) - copies the logo url to oc_manufacturer::image Brands::ManufacturerSortOrder (e.g 1) - copies the sort order to oc_manufacturer::sort_order Creates a New Record ID in oc_url_alias::url_alias_id Brands::ManufacturerSEOKeyword (e.g apple) - copies SEO keyword to oc_url_alias::keyword Brands::ManufacturerSEOKeywordQuery - copies SEO keyword query to oc_url_alias::query Any help much appericiated. Thanks J

    ODBC Data Source Name (DSN) Missing

    Thanks for your replies. I resolved this issue by reinstalling the ODBC driver and restarting my computer. Tested and now works great. Thanks for your help
  4. Attempting to connect to my MySQL database via ODBC but unforunately the DSN is missing so I can't connect (Filemaker 13 Pro) I've searched the forums for the solution and have come across a simular issue regarding 64 bit drivers but I am running a 32 bit O/S (Windows 7) therefore can only install 32 bit drivers. Looking at this post http://forums.filemaker.com/posts/4c08106b66 "To setup DSN for 32-bit application you must use: %WINDIR%SysWOW64odbcad32.exe" however I do not have a SysWOW64 directory. The ODBC connection has been tested and works ok so I am convinced it's FM related. This is the driver I am using - http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/ Any ideas? Thanks

    Filemaker Match/Find

    ok, I've gone in a slightly different direction and have changed my database so I have four tiers of website category (Grand Parent, Parent, Child & Grand Child) So now I have those fields in the same table (Categories) Categories::Grand Parent Name Categories::Parent Name Categories::Child Name Categories::Grand Child Name I also have four other fields for the RecordID Categories::Grand Parent ID Categories::Parent ID Categories::Child ID Categories::Grand Child ID Now I want to create a calculation which lookups/matches the Categories::Grand Child Name from Categories::Category Name and returns the RecordID of that record. What's the best way of doing this?

    Filemaker Match/Find

    Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I've removed the Parent Category field and replaced it with the Parent Category ID which now gives me the right data that I need to export/relate to the another fields. Superb However in the previously in the Parent Category Field, the categories were listed in order of assignment for example: Tablets & Mobile Tablets & Mobile > Ipads Tablets & Mobile > Ipads > 16GB Tablets & Mobile > Ipads > 32GB Tablets & Mobile > Ipads > 64GB Now my list just lists Tablets & Mobile Ipads 16GB 32GB 64GB Which unfortunately isn't good for when creating a new product. To be able to recreate these assignments I would need to relate the Parent Category ID to the Parent Category Name. So now i'm back to square one, attempting to match the Parent Category ID to the Parent Category Name. My apologies, I should of given this instance in my first post.
  7. Apologies if this is a simple question but i'm not having much luck finding a solution. It's late so it may just be my brain not working. I have a table full of website categories called "Categories). Here are some two example records: Parcent Category Category ID (123) Category Name (Tablets & Mobile) Parent Category (BLANK as N/A) Parent Category ID (BLANK as N/A) Child Category Category ID (456) Category Name (Ipads) Parent Category (Tablets & Mobile) Parent Category ID (123) Currently both the Parent Category & Parent Category ID fields are entered manually (Parent Category uses a drop down list). However I am trying to get the right calculation so when I select the Parent Category, the Parent Category ID is automatically populated. Something like ( If Parent Category = Category Name, Parent Category ID, "BLANK" ) Any ideas?

    Error handling for web viewer

    I have found an alternative solution for this issue which if you host your own images is probably more beneficial as uses little or no bandwidth upon your website. Having copied my website images to a local directory I then I installed MooPlug and use the Moo_FileExists ( sFile ); function which checks if the file is valid. Either returns a 0 (Not Valid) or 1 (Valid) For example: Image directory is C:My WebsiteImages Example image located in C:My WebsiteImagesApple2014Ipad-Mini_1.jpg Function is Moo_FileExists ( "C:/My Website/Images/" & Products::Brand & "/" & Products::Model Year) & "/" & Images::Image1 )

    Error handling for web viewer

    Been trying to get the GetLayoutObjectAttribute to give me some results. I've definately got the right webviewer cell however it does not return any data using GetLayoutObjectAttribute ("webviewer" ; "content" ) or GetLayoutObjectAttribute ("webviewer" ; "source" ). If I use GetLayoutObjectAttribute ("webviewer" ; "bounds" ) I get data back (110 -157 198 -77 0) Is there an option I need to enable somewhere? This is what my webviewer looks like: "data:text/html, <html> <body> <body style='border: 0; margin: 0'> <img src='http://images.mywebsite.com/" & Products::Brand & "/" & Products::Model Year & "/" & Images::Image1 & "' style='width:100%; height:100%'/> </body> </html>"

    Data Extraction Number/Text

    I can confirm that the measurements present will always be followed by "mm" but can't guarantee that they will appear at the end of the record

    Data Extraction Number/Text

    Apologies, I am wishing to extract the sizing information from these records (they are individual records) For example Fork TS Air 27.5", Remote Lockout = "0" Fork TS Air 30 27.5", Remote Lockout, 100mm = "100mm" Fork TS Air 30 27.5", Remote Lockout, 120mm = "120mm" Fork TS Air 30 27.5", Remote Lockout, 140mm = "140mm" I have created a new field called ProductSpecificationSizing which will include this information. What I am looking for is the calculation so I can attract the information from these records and 1000's more.
  12. I have data within a field which consists of measurements that I want to extract. for example ProductSpecification Fork TS Air 27.5", Remote Lockout Fork TS Air 30 27.5", Remote Lockout, 100mm Fork TS Air 30 27.5", Remote Lockout, 120mm Fork TS Air 30 27.5", Remote Lockout, 140mm Doing a simple PatternCount is fine for say "100mm" but how can I do this for an entire range (between 0 and 500mm). For example PatternCount ( ProductSpecification; >500mm ) Thanks

    Error handling for web viewer

    Got the javascript to work however doesn't seem to function within my FM "data:text/html,<html> <body> <body style='border: 0; margin: 0'> <script> var im = document.getElementById('imageID'); // or select based on classes im.onerror = function(){ // image not found or change src like this as default image: im.src = 'new path'; }; </script> <img src='http://www.mysite.com.au/media/import/" & image & "' onError="this.src = 'http://www.mysite.com.au/media/import/404.jpg'" /> </body> </html>" I think it's the quotation marks here that's the issue onError="this.src = 'http://www.mysite.com.au/media/import/404.jpg'" /> I would like to be able to use the result in a field which I can run a report/script on. e.g If (webviewer = "http://www.mysite.com.au/media/import/404.jpg";"No" ; "Yes" ) Here is the original javascript <html> <body> <body style='border: 0; margin: 0'> <script> var im = document.getElementById('imageID'); // or select based on classes im.onerror = function(){ // image not found or change src like this as default image: im.src = 'new path'; }; </script> <img src="http://www.mysite.com.au/media/import/image.jpg" onError="this.src = 'http://www.mysite.com.au/media/import/404.jpg'" /> </body> </html>

    External Image Hosting

    Thanks Man. That has worked! although I did have to amend my Product::Image1 fields to include http:// infront of the images.website.image1.jpg like you said but that was easily done! I'm very much beginning to like FileMaker! Thank you for your help

    External Image Hosting

    Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum and also pretty new to Filemaker 13 so please be nice! I am using Filemaker to help manage my inventory of a website (ecommerce) but finding it hard to find details on using an external image server (aka image directory of website) So far I can managed to get the images to display from my external server (images.website.com/image1.jpg) using the Web Viewer and also managed to removed the borders and fix the scaling by adding in HTML code into a field called ImageCode data:text/html, <html> <body> <img src='images.website.com/image1.jpg' style='width:100%; height:100%'/> </body> </html> Now I would like to link the field content of Product::Image1 (this is where my url is located) to replace "images.website.com/image1.jpg" link which I manually entered into the ImageCode field. Can anyone advise the best way to do this? or if there is a guide for designing filemaker db's for use with external image servers. Thanks J
