    FQL UPDATE

Thank you for your response and thank you for the free plug-in. So from where or how is it that the UPDATE statement is meant to be used (https://fmhelp.filemaker.com/docs/13/en/fm13_sql_reference.pdf pg 19)?
  3. Hi guys, can anyone tell me what is wrong with my statement? I'm not getting any results and the variables are not empty. ExecuteSQL ("UPDATE CustomerDB SET CustComments = ? WHERE CustomerID = ?"; ""; ""; $CustEmailBody; $CustomerID)
  4. Thank you for your response. On a particular script that I'm working on... I need to pull certain information one record at a time. Because some of the records will have the field blank the work around seems inefficient especially when I have to repeat it several times in different parts of the script: Set Variable [$CustomerIDs; Value:ExecuteSQL ("SELECT CustomerIDs FROM Customerdb"; ""; ""; "")] Set Variable [$CustomerID; Value:GetValue ($CustomerIDs; MainPage::RecordNum)] Set Variable [$CustomerName; Value: ExecuteSQL ("SELECT Name FROM Customerdb WHERE CustomerID = ?"; ""; ""; $CustomerID)] What I was wondering is it possible to do the following: Set Variable [$CustomerName; Value: ExecuteSQL ("SELECT Name FROM Customerdb WHERE ROW = ?"; ""; ""; MainPage::RecordNum)]
  5. Is the following query possible? If yes, what is missing from my format. If not, what are my alternatives to a achieve the same goal? ExecuteSQL ("SELECT Name FROM Customerdb WHERE ROW = 1"; ""; ""; "") or ExecuteSQL ("SELECT Name FROM Cutomerdb WHERE RECORD = 1"; ""; ""; "") Thanks in advance.

    SQL "AS" statement

I did not know File Maker had tab stops. How I did not see it under "Appearance" is beyond me. I will look into it further. Thanks again.

I'm VERY interested in "tab stops set" do you have any links where I can learn about this feature? Thanks again.

    SQL "AS" statement

Thank you eos, it works very well. Question, is there an easy way to have the header align with the data rows? I ask because the result that I'm now getting is something like: ID Serial_Number Date Name 123 J-804-KL 4-22-2014 Joe Doe 654 M-465-NO 2-01-2015 Marry Jane
  9. Hi, I'm querying some results and would like to title the column (first row). I wrote my sql statement as follows but I'm only receiving the results without the column header: ExecuteSQL("SELECT CustID AS ID , SerialLS AS Serial_Number, DateNTime AS Date, Operator AS Name WHERE SerialLS = ?"; " "; ""; Serial_LS) Am I doing something wrong? What I was hoping to get is: ID Serial_Number Date Name 123 J-804-KL 4-22-2014 Joe Doe 654 M-465-NO 2-01-2015 Marry Jane Instead what I get is: 123 J-804-KL 4-22-2014 Joe Doe 654 M-465-NO 2-01-2015 Marry Jane

    FQL SORT BY Date, Time

eos, Thank you for your reply. I already tried that and the results are the same as if I wrote it as ODate, OTime DESC. It seems to be a bug. Do you have any other suggestion for a work around?
  11. Hi, I'm trying to sort my FQL by date and then time ExecuteSQL("SELECT DISTINCT OrderID FROM Tests ORDER BY ODate, OTime DESC"; ""; ""; "") but for some reason it is not working. It gives me the list of OrderID's but not the Descending order that I asked for. Instead, it gives it to me as if I had placed ... ORDER BY ODate ASC. It sorts correctly if I have ODate DESC by itself but... I also need to have it sort it by time. Other information: It's a Specify Calculation Filemaker Pro Advance 13 Windows 8 Thanks in advance
  12. Thank you Ryan It's working perfect now.
  13. Hi Ryan, Thank you for your response. I downloaded the zip file but when I extract it's contents I get an error message "The compressed (Zipped) folder is empty". The zipped file size is 22.9 MB so it does not seem to be empty but instead damaged. I am using Windows 8 unzip (I don't know if that makes a difference).
  14. Hi, I've been using ScribeDocLoad to load Excel sheets into Filemaker Pro 13 and ScribeDocReadValue to read it's values. It has been working very well for me until it hit a column with scientific number formatting in Excel where it returns "Error" as it's value. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to take an extra step to bring in Scientific numbers? There are thousands of Excel documents, so, going in and changing the formatting for the column is not an option. Any Help will be greatly appreciated.
