  1. Here I am with yet another problem. I have a customer database and a salesperson database that are related with a "Key" to allow relations between all records. Problem: In the customer database, the sales slips contain a field for the salesperson's name which is selected through a value list related to the salesperson database. I want to be able to calculate sales for EACH salesperson based upon a date range. So far, every employee is showing the TOTAL sales for the store and NOT broken down by employee There doesn't seem to be a calculation function that can calculate a range of records with a conditional based on "salesperson" and "date range" in real time without some form of user interaction or having to "sort" the sales slips. I need to have all slips in an index at all times. Pretend I have said nothing and have never touched FM Pro and am asking "How would you create a sales slip database and then create sales reports broken down by employee?" Any help would be greatly appreciated
  2. Thank you very much! I'll add this bit of code to at least three of my databases!
  3. I am trying to do the seemingly simple task of creating a script that will search customer files at the beginning of the day and display a list of customers who are celebrating a birthday on that day. Filemaker doesn't seem to like wildcard characters of any sort when doing a find function in a date field. I have tried the today whatever/today whatever/ yadda yadda yadda stuff, but can't seem to figure out a way to negate the year. Anyone have any simple suggestions on how to find month-date-"Any year"??? Thanks! P.S. why can't claris make filemaker a bit more versatile? You can't format a phone number without a 3rd party plug in or 90 lines of code! I have vented...you may continue with your day LOL
  4. I am trying to script a routine that will take a list of "available" salespeople and put them in order "on deck". When with a customer, I want to move the top person "on deck" to an "On the Floor" list. When the person is finished with a sales opportunity, I want to move his/her name to the bottom of the "on deck" list. If you are familiar with furniture sales, you know the routine! Sounds simple, but I've been racking my brain for well over 12 hours trying to figure this out. I have a database of "Employees" and a database that acts as the interface for my "Up Board" If anyone can help, please email me with any ideas. Thanks! manganese25@aol.com
