  1. i found it, if anyone else wants to know how to do it let me know
  2. I went through the IWP documetation and I couldn't find anything about how to increase the timeout time when using Server Advanced. It only talks about modifying it in Pro. This doesn't seem like it would work using Server.
  3. I'm noticing a problem with any version of FileMaker after 7: In IWP, when a field is defined to have a scroll bar, it displays very oddly on the web page. It looks like a box within a box, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Do have to just live without scrollbars on the web? Inquiring minds want to know.
  4. have you guys had any luck creating a hyperlink on an instant web publishing page? I tried using the Open URL script. but this only seems to work if there are no pop up blockers of any kind. It seems like there should be a better way. How do you guys do it?
  5. i noticed when i view instant web publishing pages being served by 8.5 Pro, any fields with vertical scroll bars don't display correctly. when viewing through internet explorer, it shows where the field is and then a smaller field inside that field. The smaller field inside shows the vertical scroll bar. btw this only happens when the page is in edit mode. when it is in display mode it shows everything correctly. does anyone know how to correct this problem?
  6. Has anyone been able to publish/view IWP pages on the IE that comes with Windows Mobile? If so, could you provide some insight into how this could be accomplished. I tried and all I get are blank screens. Thanks

    Run script on page load

Sure. You could have a main script that then runs other scripts when it is run. This script step you use to run another script is 'perform script'.
  8. I don't think either of those is doing the trick. I've tried Ctrl, Alt, Tab. Nothing. Maybe I'm doing it incorrectly.

    Run script on page load

Hi. The obvious answer is to run a script when a file is opened. This is done through File -> File Options. If you are referring to event-based scripting. This is an entirely different animal. This is not supported natively in Filemaker. However, there are some fine plug-ins out there that can accomplish this. Waves In Motion and I think Troi both jump to mind. It sounds from your subject that perhaps you are referring to web stuff? This, of course, would be a different can of worms. good luck
  10. Hi folks. I did a dumb thing. I made a script that is now closing the application as soon as I attempt to log in. Anyone know what key or key combo prevents opening scripts from running in FMP 7? I can't even remember how to do it with FM6. Thanks in advance. John

    Can't Start Instant Web Publishing

fixed my problem. I 'forgot' that i had FM Server 7 installed on this machine. I went to the task manager and stopped any process involving FM Server and IWP then started up fine.
  12. I'm using FM7 on Windows XP... For some reason I can't start Instant web publishing. As soon as I open Filemaker, I get the message that Filemaker cannot share files over the web because instant web publishing cannot be started. I've tried playing around with settings to no avail. I'm sure this is something simple that I'm not getting. Any help is appreciated.
  13. I thought I saw this question on this forum already, but for the life of me I can't find it. Here's the problem... Sometimes when a carriage return is entered on an IWP page via the web, an unkown character shows up (the little rectangle). It only shows up when viewed in Filemaker, and it doesn't happen all the time - which I find strange. Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can prevent it? I'm using IE 6 with windows xp pro. Thanks, John
  14. Is there a way to get a field to scroll in IWP so that the entire contents are viewable -- without allowing the field to be modified? In other words, I want a vertical scroll bar to appear on a field in a given layout and want the scroll bar to work, but I do not want the user to be able to modify the contents of the field from this layout. I've been messing around with this for some time and I can't get it to work. Any workarounds or tricks would be welcome. Thanks!
