You can go into layoutsetup and use the script triggers there to do onlayoutkeystroke and set it run the "trigger" script.. for those who want to implement something like this on an existing solutions with hundreds of fields.. lol it will apply it to the all the fields on that layout :-)
  2. Oh great!! It is a bug! Thanks! For a second I thought I was losing my mind..LOL So yeah Laretta, maybe this can be used to our advantage but if it's fixed that might just break our advantage..LOl Oh well, as much as a pains me to go through an extra couple steps I'll just use the go to object...Thanks everyone!
  3. oh..i thought maybe it was my computer, but I'm not crazy i don't think...lol I have walked through it with debugger..looks like it does the step but doesn't leave your cursor in the field. I thought it was strange.. but it didn't seem to work and it's not a complicated script.. Just use "go to field" step..ie on a field that has cf on it.. my cf was basically highlight yellow if two criteria are met.. one of the criteria was through a relationship, ie, the cf was to indicate that a link(relationship) was established. I did get to finally work with go to object but thought it was really strange behavior...
  4. I applied CF to a field. I had a few scripts that would end with script step "go to field". After applying the cf, A user stated her button wasn't leaving her in that field as the last step anymore.. the script ran and ended it but didn't perform the "go to field" step. I tried, Insert calc.. just to leave cursor in that field, I tried set selection, insert text. Finally the only thing that I was able to do was name the field as an object and then use the "go to object" step. Anyone else encounter this?

    Conditional Color Repetition?

Yes Laretta, it's refreshing because of the conditional formatting.. check out variables, and conditional formatting webex seminar on filemaker site.. instead of having the calc in a field, you can actually do your calc in the conditional format area and it refreshes first.. http://filemaker.com/support/webinars/seminars.html#cu10

    Catch 22!

May not be the right forum.. but have a notes database, the emp pushes button it goes to the last portal and into the Notes field they type.. meanwhile before this step they've click a button to start a timer.. "Which is only a stamped start time and end time and a calc to get duration." however the catch 22 is that my boss naturally wants the notes to be secure so no one can modify them.. however when the user clicks the button to end the time.. this commits the note record which is setup on an Event Script to autopopulate other fields.. and time taken for writing note must be caputured. See my problem? I heard somewhere that they're may be a way to run a clock from within a field using PHP or fx.PHP? Any ideas guys?
  7. That was my first thought exactly... I built one, and am actually looking for a solution to show a "RUNNING TIME".. mine is basically like yours except I have start and end time as one record. This makes it far less confusing as to when a call was started and ended.
  8. Did filemaker respond to you on this yet?.. I am having the same problem.. I created a spreadsheet or rather modified it so the data was in a format filemaker could read( by row) the only way I could do this was to create another worksheet and for each cell calculate it back to the original form cell within the same workbook.. It worked great the first few days.. but now I get the same error that it's skipping it.. yet it won't tell me why?.. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

    Spanish solutions

I don't know what exactly you're looking for but I am bilingual and could develop a database that you could use in a spanish speaking enviornment. dataworks_consulting_inc@yahoo.com
  10. This really looks like a interesting project and would be great if telecommuting is possible?.. I'd be willing to travel if you run out of luck, spend some time with your staff to better understand your needs, and then telecommute from then with occasion travels. I have experience with Filemaker and have been developing since version 4 and I especially love the new features of FM 8. Let's talk if interested. dataworks_consulting_inc@yahoo.com

    CUSTOM Button Shapes

actually you can place a graphic in a tab panel... It was one of the first things I tried to do.. the trick is to get the graphic( in my case OSX Aqua Look) in just the right spot.. where the graphic barely covers the tab.( in some case you may need to name these tabs specific to the size you want them as they're dynamic to the label).. Then on top of that for instance if you want a two tab panel you must in essence make use 4 graphics.. 3 tabbed.. 9 graphics.. etc.. I've learn to create the graphics, then however many copies I need for extra just copy and paste below and start putting each layer in it's place.. Pain in the but! but my boss likes it.. I'm sure you can accomplish this with global fields as well to make it more dynamic.. as well.
