  1. I have FM Server 7 running on Windows XP. It's been stable for a a while now. Recently when I try to work on the server, I've been unable to login even directly from that machine - Iget a "login failed " error message, or just a failure with no error message. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any suggestions about how to get back into the administrator panel? Thanks! Matt Short MEMdata

    Exporting XML via XSL

fenton: Thanks for the insight. I found using the variable helpful. Do you know of a template available that builds this into a table? That's what I'm after. The HTML table that I've just created has all values for each data set run together in the same cell. I'm new at the XML / XSL game and am trying hard to learn what I'm doing. Any templates that I can study will help me get over the learning curve! Thanks again! --Matt

    Exporting XML via XSL

Has anyone experienced XML that has multiple "data" lines for each "col"? How do you get the XSL to take that into consideration? For example: Client 1 CLIE1 Jim Bob Billy Sue Client 2 CLIE2 Billy Ray Susie Q I can get the XSL to display Jim Bob, but skips Billy Sue and proceeds to the next client, Client 2 and displays Billy Ray, but not Susie Q. Anyone else have this problem? What was your work-around?

Relating by ID, but display by name?

How can you have 2 relationships seperate from one another (one being ID to ID, the other customer name to customer name)? ---- Matt Short FM7, WinXP (not by choice)

    Limiting Access?

Mr. Blackwell: Thanks for your reply. I've been trying to digest it. Perhaps we do have an architectural issue here, but I don't know how else to link key points of data other than by the "Company Name." It certainly does create a headache when a company changes names or is acquired by another. That said, what other fields can I link other pieces of data from other files if I can't use something that changes frequently? Matt Short

    Limiting Access?

I have a three file database in which users are accidently "deleting" records by not choosing the SEARCH button to do searches. To alleviate the problem, I set up access so that people cannot edit the "COMPANY NAME" field of the database (the key field in which the relationships exist) unless they created the record today (tomorrow, they can't edit it). This poses some problems like not allowing people to edit other fields of other records. How can I allow all users to create and edit all records and fields except "COMPANY NAME" if they did not create that record?
