  1. Hi folks, I'm modifying a customer's application in FMP 4.0 and am stuck on an idea that just doesn't seem to fly. Basically I start the application by clicking on file1.fm3, on one of it's forms there is a button that calls script1 to open file2.fm3, when file2.fm3 gets closed I would like script1(file1.fm3) to do a re-lookup based on a particular field and can't seem to get it to fly... I tried this in script1(file1.fm3) 1 - open file2.fm3 (file2.fm3 auto runs a script to display one of it's forms that has a close-file button on it) 2 - go to a layout 3 - re-l
  2. Well Bob, my experiments with printing-to-file via PS were not very fruitfull since the PS drivers don't seem to generate what is expected of your logic. But, in the mean time, I found MetaDataMagic and was blown off of my seat. The demo only allows for 3 files max., well I only have 3 ) It did the job [color:"red"]extremely well and supports FMP 3.0, 4.0, 4.1 and 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0 Thanks for your help Marc
  3. Bingo! Thanks Lee, MetadataMagic seems to do the trick and the demo is limited to 3 files.... guess what: I only have 3 files Merci!
  4. Hi again Lee! I had found most of these tools a while back. Since I'm using the customer's copy of FMP6 to do the changes, buying FMD5.5/6/7 for this one-time modifications is not very economical. Analyzer 3.6 - Quote: "Analyzer is the perfect FileMaker Pro assistant" (false... One needs FMD5.5/6) Analyzer Lite - Vanished from the face of the earth Brushfire 2 - Needs FMD5.5/6 Aerie Demo - Link is dead Visualizer 1.0 - Mac only MetadataMagic 2.0 - Downloaded Demo, Will take a look at it. Thanks for the help!
  5. Hi Folks, Does anyone know if Bob Weaver's "SoftDoc" has evolved since it's first appearance sometime around Oct 2002 ? The Thread Are there other ways to get a FM project analysis/dependencies if one does not have DDR and/or FM Developer? FM seems very popular but it lacks constructs that would make modifying someone else's work a lot more easier I think. Thanks for any help. FileMaker Version: 6 Platform: Windows 2000
  6. Hi Bob, (reviving a somewhat old thread) Have you revamped SoftDoc since Oct 2002, I'd be interested.
  7. Thanks Lee for a prompt response, I will try this out, it may save me a headache or two. Merci
  8. Hi Folks, New user, Long time programmer, new to FM. Kenneth2k1 (back in 2003, msg #83872) mentioned that Bob Weaver had posted a technique to generate an analysis of an application without the use of DDR and/or "FM Developer". Can anyone point me to that article, I'm having trouble finding it. I'm trying to modify a client's application which was developed by another person and need to determine what the dependencies are as I seem to break more things than I fix Thanks Marc Champagne Montreal, Canada FileMaker Version: 6 Platform: Windows 2000
