  2. ok.. Ive seen this case before in the Timesharing market, they sell like listings of people who want to buy/sell... I was thinking any kind of data really, but say for example, people that sell Yellow Pages of specialty markets, its a database,Ive seen loads of these PhoneBooks CDs , or Recipes ... this would be on the low end of course... on a higher level I can imagine all sorts of Scientific research databases...

Hi , I was wondering about the data collecting business model, I cannot find any companies that sell data, im not in search of anything particular, im just curious for this market, i find lots of companies that sell templates, or customized databases, but not with data included. is there any links you can give me on this ?   6. But that only applies to 1 pop-up list, or am I missing something ? The 2nd pop-up list should display only the relevant records from the 1st pop-up list. We are saying that both items in both pop-up lists are fields of a table and that I created 2 valuelists that take elements of the fields. Its just the calculation between the 2 because the relationships are made. Dan

Hello, I know this must have been posted a thousand times. just point me to the right answer please, Imagine the case, you have a contact database with 2 tables, contacts and locations. im entering data, i get to country , i choose my country with a pop-up list and then I want the Province to be only the provinces of the previous selected country. I've already set up the locations table with its fields. But I dont know the calculation needed to filter down the results. At this point, I have to remember that the selected province really belongs to the country when I enter data. Any help would be appreciated. thanks a lot, Dan
  8. Thanks! I see what you mean, I managed to fix it by cleaning the relationships, Now in the contacts form, i can see through a portal, which package has been sent to that contact. In the projects page, I can see through a portal to which packages this project belongs too. So its working ! Its basically a system for tracking down Movie Screenplays or drafts and to keep track to whom we have sent the package, Youre right its an abstract package, as the projects can be mailed more than once. Now you said that each package can have multiple projects, well I guess I could live without that because it doesnt really matter in which physical package it travelled, only the date and destination count. So if I send a package with 2 projects, i guess I would see it as 2 packages... Ill probably brainstorm tonight for this... By the way, I was yesterday reading your tutorials on your site, good stuff ! Dan
  9. I managed myself.. making a relation was easy as soon as they matched the same content. they appear in the created portal ! yippii
  10. Hi ! First of all im not so sure if Im doing it the correct way but I need some help if possible. im probably totally out of track.. I have 3 Tables, Contacts, Projects & Packages Now, Ive created my custom contact database , projects and packages, In each contact form , at the bottom i want a list of packages ive sent to them. On the packages database ive made a relationship to the projects table, so when im adding a new package to send i can choose from a pulldown menu the list of projects ive entered. Ive also created a list view to see a list of packages , Im just testing a scenario where like say each project gets sent to like 200 companies (there are like a 1000 on the DB) so we need good tracking of packages sent. So, how do I link the packaging data with the main contacts form? Ive also created a portal, selected table > Package Tracking > and the fields i wanted displayed but of course I need something else. I need to be able to mark or something.. Im sorry but Im a bit confused... i hope you understood what i meant. Dan
