  1. I want to know how extract part of a field. For each record, I want to extract the last part of an email address. For example if the email address is mike@world.com, how can I extract 'world.com'. Your reply is much appreciated.
  2. Hi, when I open a file through the web browser, using IWP, I'm immediately presented with a 'record not found' dialogue box, and in the status area the record number is given as zero. Any ideas?
  3. Thanks. I was looking for an explanation of why this did not work - the constrain found set[] replaces perform find []. Just one more question. It appears to make more sense to put the constrain found set [] after the first find, rather than at the end of the second find, does it not? My logic was to constrain on the first find and then do a second find on the constrained set.
  4. Thanks. It worked fine. I think I overcomplicated it, thinking I had to constrain a found set first and then do another find on that set.

  6. I am a new member struggling with the following problem. I want to search on two fields and I’m using the ‘constrain found’ set to do this. However it is not working. Can you help? The script is as follows. Enter Find Mode[] Set Field [Customer::User;Get(Accountname)] Perform Find [] Constrain Found Set [] Enter Find Mode [] Set Field [Customer::DateCreated; Get(CurrentDate)] Perform Find [] The above script returns the records by CurrentDate, but not CurrentDate and User. I would appreciate your thoughts.
  7. I would like some advice. I would like to build, for my customers, a web site displaying a catalogue of their products. Presently I use Dreamweaver and Filemaker Pro 8 and have been looking at the option of using Filemaker Server 8 Advanced (using Custom Web Publishing) as a solution for building a database driven web site. However, at over £1,600 (approx $2,500) Filemaker Server 8 Advanced is very expensive and it's not possible to get a trial version of this to see whether it suits my needs. Furthermore, I can't find an example of a web site driven by this package. I spoke to Filemaker UK today and they said www.eatpret.com was an example, but having looked at it, it's nothing like a web site I wish to build. I was intrigued by Lasso. I have looked at their web site and it looks like it might be a better solution. Whilst it is pricey, it's not as expensive as the Filemaker option and it supports both Filemaker and Dreamweaver. Furthermore, it is possible to download a trial version. What do you think I should do? I would be grateful for any comments. I might just add that I have used the Instant Web Publishing feature in Filemaker which is incredibly simple and it turned me on to the idea of Custom Web Publishing.

  9. You know a lot. The router needs to be reconfigured I imagine, as you say. But I've lost the software. In one of my tidying up purges I removed it from the hard disc and I can't find the Broadcom Control Suite CD to reinstall it. Whilst it's possible to download the driver, I'll have to save my pocket money, because the suite is not on their web site to download, just their drivers. So my only recourse is to buy another router with CD. At least now I know where I'm going. Many thanks
  10. Thanks for replying. How do I tell my router to forward web traffic? I've looked at the Local Area Connection, but find no way of 'forwarding' traffic. Incidentally, the Microsoft firewall on the Local Area Connection is set to except filemaker files.
  11. Is it possible to use IWP so that it can be viewed from a remote site? It works fine over the LAN, but does not appear using a browser from a remote site.
  12. Hi, What's a TOG? Thanks for the offer of inspecting the files. I have uploaded them. I much appreciate it. You can email direct to me if you like at uptodata@homechoice.co.uk. Thanks. New_Compressed__zipped__Folder.zip
  13. Thank you Soren for your reply. You are absolutely right. The sum is a line total of numberOfItems*Price. The Price is a lookup from the product table. Is this the reason that I am drawing a blank? If so what should I do? Regards.
