  1. Hello, I am trying to create a field that will sum data from another related table. I have 5 tables, one for event info, one for daily individual costs by event and date, one for daily totals by event and date, one for event totals by event, one for accounting totals by event. The daily individual costs have a department field and various other financial information. In the Daily totals table I would like the department field to calculate the total of the individual costs broken down by department. (for ex: all operations expenses for the specific date would total in the daily operations field in the daily totals table) I am not sure how to do this and am confused by sum field field input that comes up. I need the sum to be calculated for department by date. please help. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
  2. Hi. This is probably so easy, but i'm just boggled right now. I have 2 tables, one for daily input and one for totals. the first table have event name, event date, cost per day per department etc... the second table has profit and totals. the department total field in the totals table needs to calculate the sum from cost per day per department when the event name is the same (some events run multiple days so i need to calculate the total per event). what is the easiest way to do this?

Hi, I have a database for purchase orders. i have created an accounting view that lists the po's in table form becuase they do not need all of the fields. the fiels are all repeating due to multiple lines. is there a way to make the empty lines disappear in the report/layout? pleease let me know if there is. thanks.

  5. Søren Dyhr , The script works in FileMaker Pro but not in IWP. I am testing it with administrator privileges and it just stays on the same layout in IWP. Please help. thanks.

Aaah i understand finally! ok, i put everything in, but am having problems properly inputting the following line in the script Set Field [Date; globStartDate & "..." & GlobEndDate] I put in Set Field [Date] because that is all i can put in and i keep getting errors. "There are no valid criteria in this request. Type a valid request before clicking find. Can i email you the file though this? let me know.
  8. That actually confused me more! I do not want and static dates in the script. I want the user to input them when running the report script. does that still apply?
  9. I got the find to work without the global field, but it does not work in web companion.
  10. What should the globStartDate and globEndDate fields be? just empty or should they be calculations or something? please elaborate on that aspect. thanks.
  11. Hi. I am trying to create a button which will perform a find asking the user to input two dates which they want the records to be between, then to switch to the other layout with the found records. When i go to scriptmaker, i have perform find as the first action with the find request being "Date >= ?" and it won't accept it. how do i get it to ask the user for the dates they want?
  12. I guess i can put the start time as HH:MM AM/PM, Hours as HH:MM and end time as HH:MM AM/PM. how would i do that if using hours as a time instead of a number? The above calculation did not work. It only output the start time.
  13. Hi. I recently bought FMS Advanced and installed FMS with no problem and can host the files with no problem. When I installed WPE i followed the steps in the manual but disabling IIS authentication and restarting. I then created a web admin account.
