  1. Ok. I just wrote an If statement and tested it in the script debugger and it works. If [(Get(CurrentDate) - GetAsDate(Field Name))) > 10] Send Mail: [To:"mail@mail.com"; Message: "This is a sample email." End If So now I need to know how do I trigger it in the Field Name field.
  2. Hello, I hope you guys can help me. I have created a date field that needs to trigger an email 10 days after it has been populated. First off is this possible using conditionals and if so what is the best way to write this? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Well it looks like I may have too much data to handle this setup. I have over 5000 entries going back to 2005. Any suggestions?
  4. Thank you so much for your help. I am implementing what you guys suggested. I will let you know what happens. Sorry for not thanking you right away. FileMaker Pro Advanced 9 stopped working on my PowerBoook G4 this morning. Luckily I have it running on a MacBook. I am still trying to figure out what happened. Cheers, Kasei
  5. I hope you guys will be able to help me. I have a field that takes dates only. In this date field I have set the conditional formatting to turn the field red when more than one day has passed beyond the date entered into the field. Is there a way for me to determine the percentage of time the field goes past the posted date? I know it sounds a little strange but I am trying to create an analysis report that shows how often project go beyond the completion date entered into the date field. You help is great appreciated. Cheers, Kasei
  6. Hello Guys, It has been a while since I've been on here, but I am back and have a couple of questions. Has anyone here every used FusionCharts? I am trying to setup one of their charts in FileMaker 9, but I have my calculation field is not working for me. I need to calculate the total number of jobs in the database and break that down by year and month. I know I can setup a report with totals and subtotals to do this but I need all of this to happen in just two fields in list mode. I have been trying to put a calculation field that will give me the follow example. 2008 Jan 298 Feb 829 Mar 90 Apr 193 May 75 Jun 478 etc. Can someone help me with putting together a calculating that could take the data enter into a submission date filed, get a total for each month and break it out in list form? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I recently installed Brian Dunning's ChartMaker Pro 7 to add some pie charts and bar graphs to my database, but I am having a lot of trouble putting together a calculation to pull my data together. I have drop down menu which contains the following selection: active, non-active, new, routing and on-hold. I would like to be able to create a pie chart the shows the number of jobs in the database for each. Is there a simple calculation to do this? I really appreciate your help.
  8. Back again... I am in the process of adding some charting capability to the database I am working on. However I need to get a breakdown of one of my fields. I have a field called Status which has a drop down menu in it containing; Active, On Hold, Routing and Printing entries. I need to get the total number of Active Jobs as well as On Hold jobs from the status field. I've tried using the Aggregate Functions to get a total for each, but I am missing something. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Fenton, Thanks for the help. The import worked out great. It is so nice to be working in FileMaker 9. Cheers, Kasei
  10. As some of you might already know I built a large database in FileMaker 5.5 Yes is was quite painful and as suspected we upgraded to FileMaker 9. I am using FileMaker 9 Advance to perform the migrations and upgrade of the 5.5 system. I have a question regarding repeating fields. I have a section of repeating fields and I would like to import that data into newly created portal fields in FileMaker 9. What is the best way of going about moving repeating field data into portal fields? Thanks for your help. Kasei
  11. Lee, Thanks for the help. It turns out I was making the calculation much harder than it really needed to be. Thanks again for the help. Cheers, Kasei
  12. Thanks Lee, Working with FileMaker 5.5 requires a lot of workarounds and thanks to you guys I have been able to remain sane during this project. I'll have to go through FM and see if I can find what I am looking for. Cheers, Kasei
  13. Thanks... This is the problem I have been running into working in FileMaker 5.5
  14. I am sure this has been covered, however I am working in FileMaker 5.5 and I sometimes run into trouble using FileMaker 8 calculations. I have two date fields "Target Launch Date" and "Launch Date". The Target Launch Date must be less than the Launch Date. If the Launch Date is greater than the Target Launch Date I need for the field or Text to turn red. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
  15. LoL... I was afraid of that. Thanks...
