  1. I had this same error message, and found that I needed to specify the home directory to make it work properly. Without the home directory the OP's message will popup.
  2. If your computer has access tot he internet, will be up 24/7, and it's for temporary use than why not use LogMeIn? It's free, secure, and works on cross platform. Typically, you don't even need to play around with your router either.
  3. Hello Atalanta, You cannot run two of any version of FMS on the same server, but you can run two of any FMS version on the same network. I currently have clients running FMS 5.5 and FMS 9/10/11 on the same network with now issues.
  4. Hello Tusif, I understand the script isn't working as intended... Could you tell us me what error it's giving you? Thanks
  5. The only foreseeable problem there is that he will most likely run into a problem with Medicare when they decide to change around the form, or decide that they want different information to be sent. If he here just going through clearing houses this wouldn't be an issue.
  6. DJ - There is a thread about FMs security and privilege sets you may find interesting... http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/184468/tp/1/
  7. That will depend to which companies you are sending the claims to. I have worked with electronic claims going to various clearing houses, and I don't remember any of them specifying a specific file format. I believe we send all claims in a .dat format, and the clearing houses have been able to read them with out any issues. We use the Troi-File plugin to create these files.
  8. Thanks for the reply Steven. I've researched the various 3rd party apps that can crack the passwords, but I'd rather not. I have tried the obvious passwords, but it wasn't that easy. Do you or any other FM Forum members have any ideas, or am I out of luck? Thanks
  9. Hey Guys, The subject line says it all! I have a new client who would like me to do some work on their system, but they do not have the master password. Their IT guy, who quit..or was fired I don't know the story, never gave them the master passwords for the files he had created while working for them. I'm aware that FileMaker did an excellent job encrypting the files...Is there a way to get the old password or reset the existing password. P.S. They tell me the IT guy just disappeared and they are not able to contact him. Thanks for looking/replying Chris
  10. I'm wondering if it is possible to execute a script in FM9a after a link is pressed in the web viewer? On the same note, is it possible to execute a JavaScript command in the web viewer without user interaction? In this case it is a search button that needs to be pressed. I prefer to do these tasks without a plug-in, but will resort to one in required. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!
  11. Hello, I've been given a website that I need to stream data to from the FM9 database. Once the data is streamed we will be receiving an acknowledgment from the site..I'm assuming this will also be streaming. This is new territory for me. I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction to accomplish this.
