  1. Thanks Lee. I finally found the Filemaker article that addresses compatibility between Filemaker 11 and 12. Thanks again http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10087
  2. I am not able to connect to my server ( Filemaker 11 Server) on my iPod touch with the (free) FileMaker to GO 12. I am able to connect with the older paid version of Filemaker To go 11. On my ipod touch in Filemaker go to Open File Browser then to my server's address - no databases appear -( although they do show up fine when using Filemaker to Go 11 on the same device/settings/etc)
  3. Thanks for the input! I see that I can use FM's field validation to limit the number of characters. However I want to limit the number of lines in the response. Currently users will type too many lines in the HTML form.
  4. Is there anyway to prevent users from typing more than a few lines of text into a text field box in a form from an IWP database? (I have a feeling I may need to ditch IWP and use custom web publishing instead.)

  7. Hello all, I cant seem to find a solution for my problem though I have RTFM'ed for a couple days. I have two databases with two groups of customers. I want to be able to search by name through both groups of customers. Is there a way to do this with filemaker relationships? Also it would be good if the results would also tell which database the customer is in. Thank you. Jeremiah
  8. I would like to automatically/dynamically generate a new field from the social security field of our database that only contains the last five digits (and no hyphens). Is there an easy way to do this?
  9. Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this so please tell me if it is not. Anyway, our school district runs a filemaker database for student attendance. All of the schools connect to the district office over high speed (6Mbps) leased lines. A G5 xserve hosts Filemaker 8 Server and all the clients are Filemaker 8. The problem is that 2-8 times per day the clients get disconnected from the Students database. Sometimes they get an error messgae stating they have been disconnected. (connection with server has closed). Other times the database just closes with no warning. (none o
