  1. Does this work with FMP 6 as well? I'm trying to get this to work but maybe I'm doing something wrong.
  2. Thanks everyone for the input. I will ask to see if upgrading is an option, but for now I will have to do the best I can with FMP 6. Kinda hard with no background in this kinda stuff.
  3. Is there a way to customize buttons so that lets say a button represents a cage of mice and there are 3 mice in the cage, for the number 3 to appear on the button to display that there are 3 mice in the cage and also if there is a way to customize buttons so that if a new button is added, to differentiate between types of cages (breeder/stock) based on color. This might sound confusing so if there is anyone who is knowledgable in FMP 6, could you please email me for some help and so that I could clarify my problem more clearly. Thanks for your time. -David Lee email: dhlee@rics.bwh.harvard.edu
  4. I was wondering how to create a button that removes an entry from the database and automatically archives it in a separate file linked to the database. The only function that I could find was removing an entry entirely, but I was wondering if there was any way to move the file to another database rather than delete it.
  5. So our lab is currently using FMP 6 and have been using our current database for quite some time now, however there are a lot of problems with the database right now and I am goign to create a new one. I was wondering whether or not it is worth upgrading to FMP 8 and if the features in it make it worthwhile to upgrade or not. Thanks for looking!
  6. So I was given the duty to create a database for our lab with no experience with Filemaker Pro 6 except for the tutorial online and need some help with using the program. I have already created a very simple database with a couple different layouts, however for this new database, I am going to need a lot of help because of the complexity of the functions that I'm going to enter. If there is anyone out there that is in the Boston area and is willing to help out a noob, I'd be more than happy to buy you starbucks and a treat for some pointers on how to use the program a little bit better. Please email me if you are in the area and can help. -David Lee email: dhlee@rics.bwh.harvard.edu
  7. Need help from someone very skilled in Filemaker Pro ver. 6. There seems to be a reference problem in the database files that we use to store information regarding out mice colonies. Should be a very simple solution for anyone who is familiar with the program. Located in the Longwood Medical Area so if there is anyone that is able to help, please contact me at dhlee@rics.bwh.harvard.edu with your availability and rate. Thank you very much.
