  1. Hi everybody, I'm not sure I'm posting in the right section, so forgive me if I'm wrong. I need to send a part of the databese to a client but don't want to let him see the information concerning other clients. I have tried to export the files after a search to another file but It only sends the principle table of my database and no layouts. Does anyone have an idea about how to do that? Thanks in advance

  4. Thanks to both of you. The changing information is in a seperate table but I have no idea how to make the layout show the old data and allow for inputing new data.
  5. Hello, In the system I am creating I need the user the user to be able to see the history of information while creating new data. For example, for a given event, he has to update the probability and the impact each year. so I need him to be able to see the previous info in the new form and create new records. Previously the company was using a word table with last year's info and current info.I searched all the documentation I have for filemaker but can't find anything about this. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

  7. Thank you very much.This works very good, I was confused beacause I have a french version and the vocabulary is different. I have another question: Is there a way to have the choices stocked in seperate recordes instead of having a record store 2 or more values. Thanks again ;)

  11. Hi everybody, I have a problem with check boxes.They are normally used to select multiple choices but I can,t check more than one box. I have to uncheck it to be able to check another one. Can anyone advise me about this? Thanks in advance for your help ;)

  13. Hi bcooney, I am doing a risk management system. I need the user to be able to select a consquence for a given risk. So I have a table for risk and another one for consequences and a join table.As I said I have filled in the table for consequences but whenever I select a consequence for a new risk (for example: consequence on reputation)another record for consequence on reputation is created. I also have the same problem with a check box menu for a nother relationship.

Hi, I want the user to be able to select records from a table through a drop down menu.So I have created the recrds in the table and created the drop down menu that shows the items but the problem is that when I select the item it creates a new entry of it. for exemple if I select "client", it creates a new entry with client as a type and a new serial number. Does anyone have an idea about what makes this happen? Thanks in advance
  15. Thanks for your answers. I deleted the old layout and created a new one based on the updated table and it seems to work fine.
