  1. Does anyone know a trick to capture a signature without the popup menu? Seems like it would be a pretty logical script step, but I can't seem to make it happen. I've tested with FMPA12 and FMGo12, still not an option that I can find.
  2. I haven't resolved this problem, but I have noticed something weird, the FileMaker Server actually IS running. I can access the sample database from my laptop, but the admin console still refuses to start. I did try copying the console to my laptop and editing the address so it connects to the server, I get the same error.
  3. Larry, did you ever resolve this problem? I am having the same issue now. No errors in the logs. Tried uninstalling everything, then reinstalling, but didn't resolve my issue. I am running Windows Server 2003.
  4. I have been reading some similar posts, but can't seem to get this to work. I have a db where each record is tied to (by using the same name) an external ods (Open Document Spreadsheet) file. I want to be able to click a link and open that file from the server. The files can be accessed by everyone in our office by visiting 192.168.1.80OfficeWorkOrdersWO-XX-X.ods Is there a way to create this link automatically? I know that container fields can hold references, but I would rather have a simple button link to the file from the time my record is created.
  5. I couldn't decide if this belonged here or under scripting, but decided to go with this since others may want the same info. I think this is fairly easy, but I can't quite get it. I want to chart a calculation so here's an example: X - Date Field Y - Dollar Amount Field, but only where Owner Field is =1 This way I can have a separate Y line for each "owner".
  6. Hi. I'm trying to create a report, but I can't figure out how to do it properly. Let me start with an overview of my db. This is a basic project management db for a small group. There is a users table, which simply sets a user ID based on login. A Projects table and a tasks table. Tasks are a child of Projects. So I can have projects without tasks, but no tasks without a project. Here's my issue, I want to create a report that lists all Projects and its tasks. If I do this by basing the reports off of the child (tasks) any project without tasks doesn't get listed. I al
  7. I don't know where to post this so I thought I'd start here. I work for a small company (7 employees). Each employee has their own contacts either in Outlook or Mac's address book. The contacts are not all unique, we all have some in common. We also have a FM database with everyone's contacts combined. Some of our employees are getting tired of adding contacts in two places, and want to know if they can sync their contacts with FM. Who's already doing this and how?
  8. My issue with that is I have over 1500 customers, but only a handful have items assigned to them. Do I have to cycle through each customer, and if so how do I stop the script form generating a pop-up each time a customer has no found items?
  9. I have script that runs a grouped data report that is sorted into a page for each customer. Each customer has one or more items assigned to them. The script then enters preview mode. So the report is 10 pages if there are 10 customers. I want to create a PDF of each individual page, not the whole report and not a single record. I want the name of the PDF to be the name of the customer. Can I do this?
  10. I want to create a report where there will be a check mark if a container field has data. I figured I would do this by creating a container field and a calculation field to go with the first. How would I you write that script to check if the container field has data? What do I set for the IF statement to automatically fill in a check box? Say IF ( Container; has data; XXXXX )
  11. I'm trying to write a script that searches for records that match a certain criteria (that's done) Then I want to make a copy of each of those records and change one or two values. I thought I could do this with a loop, but my loop just keeps copying the first record over and over, even though my script says: Go To First Record LOOP Duplicate Record Go To Next Record Exit when hit last record from original search (done with variable) End Loop Why does this keep copying the first record instead of going to the next record and eventually stopping?
  12. This should be simple enough but I can't figure it out. I want Field A to be Checked against Field B and changed if it is a lower number. If A is lower then it automatically becomes B. I'd like to do this without any popups or error messages... IF (A > B; :
  13. Never Mind, I fixed it, I was just adding one too many steps.
  14. I have about 4000 items in my database, what I want to do is filter a portal down to just the Items I want. So first I want a button that that filters the category list, then choosing a category filters the portal. I will be sorting first by a field named type, then by a field named category. In other words, you choose between Fruits, Breads or Drinks. When you choose fruits a second list displays Apples, Bananas, pears. Choosing Apples shows a list of apples. On catch is that the category for some of the breads MIGHT be Apple, and they shouldn't show up under Fruits -> Apple. Do
