  1. Thanks, that was exactly the problem. After I changed the path text to begin with "image:" instead of "file:" everything worked. Thanks again.
  2. When I export the image (on a Mac) to $FilePath, it somehow looses it's jpeg'ness. When I subsequently set the container field to the $FilePath, it treats it as a generic file insert. This displays a generic icon instead of the image for the container field. When I manually insert the image from the original jpeg file (not $FilePath), everything is OK. When I manually insert the image from the exported file $FilePath, only the generic icon displays. Export Field Contents (Table::Image, $FilePath) Set Field (Table::Image, $FilePath) What am I doing wrong?

  5. I hope this is under the correct topic. I have a company and contact table, not all companies have contacts. CompanyA Contact1 CompanyA Contact2 CompanyB CompanyC Contact1 CompanyC Contact3 CompanyC Contact4 CompanyD etc... (This is essentially a partial join of Company to Contact). What's the best way to print a report on all companies with their contacts (if any)? Using sliding portals is awkward and limited.

  8. Thanks for your advice. Do you have a recommendation on how to limit the modification (not using record locking) of a check box field on a layout? The modification lock is based on another field in the same record.
  9. I can prevent modification of individual text fields on a layout by using the OnObjectEnter ScriptTrigger to sense when the user enters a particular field to redirect the user. This doesn't work with radio button or check box fields because these fields are already modified by the time the OnObjectEnter ScriptTrigger fires. How can I prevent modification of individual fields (especially radio-button/check-box fields) of a layout without using record locks?
  10. Looks like you need to implement a Bill of Materials (BOM) module which maintains products consisting of other products. ItemA ItemB ItemC ItemD is consists of ItemA, ItemB and ItemC ItemD is consists of ItemA and ItemC etc...

  12. I still somewhat new to FMPro. I hope my question makes sense. When setting up table relationships, is it possible to economize table occurrences? For example, if I have the following relationships: Relationship A. Part table --> Image table Relationship B. Sales table --> Part table When creating a Layout with Relationship B, I'm not able to access the Image table defined through another relationship (in this case, Relationship A). Is the only way to do this is to add the Image table occurrence to relationship B as follows? Sales table --
  13. Using permissions alone cannot prevent the addition of new detail records of a locked sales record. Perhaps the best way is to have two layouts, an open-sales layout and a closed-sales layout (view-only). The question now is how to coordinate these two layouts for the user to easily use.
