  1. Yes MacQueen, FM Pro is located on the same machine. I actually used Pro to develop a file that I only access to via my iPad (except to modify the layout, ...). I have no other machine to try it on, could you let m e know how I can check if the port 5003 and 5353 are open? Thanks
  2. Both the computer and the iPad are connected in WiFi, on the same network..
  3. Hi, I'm struggling for hours with a Filemaker Go connection, I'm going crazy here so any help will be appreciated... Here is the problem: I have FileMaker Server 11 running, on Windows 7, with a database, Clients.fp7, uploaded an opened. If I use FileMaker Pro (on the same computer) and try to open a remote database, no problem, I can find the host (FM Server) and my database Clients.fp7. This is how I can be sure the database is accessible. The issue comes when I want to open the database from FileMaker Go. When I look for hosts I can find my Server without any issues, but when I co
  4. Ok, thanks a lot.. I guess I'll have to go through Parallel until an update comes up.. Cheers.
  5. Hi, I recently moved to OSX Lion. When I open the FileMaker file I have been using before, the export scripts do not work anymore. I get the message that PowerPC applications are not supported on Lion. Is there a way around it to be able to export my records in xls? Many thanks.
  6. Hi, Not sure if I have to post this here or on FileMaker Server..... I have recently installed FileMaker Server to host a database that I want to be accessible on 2 iPads through FileMaker Go. It works wonders but there seems to be no password or security to open the database. Anyone with an iPad and FileMaker Go in the range of my network can potentially connect to my database. How can I set up a password when connecting to the database from FileMaker Go? Many thanks!

  9. ok, thanks for the example, this is what I was looking for.. but I've been struggling with an issue for a few days.. I copied the idea of the sample, with the table LineItems, and the various variables I had to create. But in what is my Invoices Layout, I can't enter any information in the lines of the portal that links to the values in LineItems.. I've looked at everything (or at least it seems to me) but I can't find out why... Would you have an idea? Thanks
  10. Hi, I have an issue with some relationship, not sure how to create the below: Consider 2 tables: 1) services and 2) appointment. In the table SERVICES, I have ServiceName and RRP (recommended price). In the table APPOINTMENTS, for each record I want to be able to make 3 services. I have therefore the following fields: Service1 (drop down list) / Price1 (manually entered) / RRP1 Service2 (drop down list) / Price2 (manually entered) / RRP2 Service3 (drop down list) / Price3 (manually entered) / RRP3 My issue is how to link ServiceName (from table Services) to the 3
  11. I can understand why, obvious security reasons. But can I use the built in functions without creating a FM Network? To explain more clearly what I want to do... I want to host the file on a server (only accessible from the network, not on the Internet). Each user has a different, personalized welcome page after the login. Thanks, Z.
  12. Hi - I'm looking for a way to have a field that displays **** when data is entered, like a password field would. This is for a custom login layout. Many thanks, Z.
  13. I will definitely contact you if I need anything. I actually have developed something myself just now and if this works out the way I want to I may have to have it redone in a more 'professional way'. Will let you know. Thanks again for your help, Z.
  14. Thanks James, it was quite a useless question, I just had to resize my layout. Don't know why I could not see it by myself! Thanks anyway, Z.
  15. Hi - anyone knows if there is a way to lock the scrollbar on a list? I have a report with only 12 lines and it won't be longer. But I would like to 'fix' this report so no one scrolls down. Thanks, Z.
