  6. Hi, I started a project some time ago and quickly ran into tasks beyond my ability. I had posted a help wanted here, got a response and the project proceeded. The person who was working on the file jumped ship and now im left with a file that isnt quite finished (SO close tho) and our budget has been eaten up. I need two things done both to do with reporting on the data i collect in the database. I expect that someone would be able to finish this up in just a few hours if they know what they are doing. I can provide specific details as requested. To finish this project the $$ is coming from my own pocket as my boss has already given more than was originally quoted by the first person who we hired to finish. So, I can only pay $150CAN for this. If you might be up for this, please let me know via email and i can send you the file and details. I have been left burned by the previous programmer, and as such i will not pay until the file is working 100% as agreed upon when starting work. I just cant since we paid upfront last time and are left without a finished project. Thanks for your time. galen(at)oktodo(dot)com

  18. We need a simple FMP database put together for a small business. We would provide designs as PSDs or AI files, and you write the database in FMP. - 20-30 fields (we haven't designed it yet) that keep simple job records - assign job number - information on the job needed - deadlines, whom it's assigned to - notes and follow up fields - priority - list view that sorts in order of priority or deadline - list view that sorts in order of whom it's assigned to This will be hosted on a web server so that a few people will have access to it. We know enough FMP here to be dangerous, and want someone to work on this so it works correctly without us fumbling around. If your interested in taking on the project, please respond with your email and we will send you the design files. Thanks, David

    services wanted Seeking Fm Integrator

I am seeking a developer who can integrate my FM database with 37 Signals basecamp. Thank you Darrin
  21. Hi, I'm new to the forum and looking for junior filemaker developer to do as needed work on our database. We are in the Greater Toronto Area - most of the work will be remote but will occasionally need the person to come onsite for meetings. If anyone is interested PM me. thanks, Brian
  22. I thought I was a pretty good novice at coming up with simple FM databases until I tried to figure out relationships! LOL I've been sitting here for three hours now and can't get it to do what I need. I'm hoping someone would like to volunteer to help me out. All I need is a simple relational database to track individual pages from the Census records, with the ability to list some of the names on each page (that would repeat on other pages/other years). (For instance, my grandfather Neal might appear in 5 census pages, so he'd appear once in Layout 1 and on 5 different census pages in Layout 2). It would be like this: Table/Layout 1 Person ID #, Last Name, Suffix, First Name. Then a portal(?) that shows all the census pages that person appears on by census record number. Table/Layout 2 Record Number, Census Year, State, County, City, Page Number. Then a portal(?) where I could enter the Person ID# from Table 1 and it fills in the whole name (it would be nice if I could enter the name and it fill in the record number, but some people have identical names). Then I'd like to add info to that name (on that specific census record) with Relationship, Age, Birth Month, Birth Year, Birth Place, Father's Birth Place, Mother's Birth Place. I know people get paid for doing this stuff, I just don't have extra money to pay someone. Not to give a sob story, but I recently gave up my job to care for my disabled sister full-time, when our mom died. Working on my family tree has been a great way to cope with both. So I hope someone might be willing to help out. My email is july1962@aol.com Thanks! Eric
  23. Hello everyone, I am new to this site and the forum as well. So thank you in advance to any/all that respond. I have hit an impasse. Over the past few months I have been designing and creating from scratch a brand new database. However, there are some things that I just cannot do. I used FM many years ago but never to this extent and never have I created an entire database. With that said, I have a little bit of work that needs to get done and I am, quite honestly, tired of wasting so many days, weeks and months trying to figure this out on my own. Trial and error is great and a necessary process but at some point you gotta ask for help. So here I am. I am looking for someone to come in for a short term project (2 or 3 days). It really shouldn't take much longer than that because I have pretty much finished the whole thing. If you can assist, either as a temp employee (from an agency) or as a consultant, it's required that you sign a non-disclosure agreement. Here's a brief scope of work: Experience Needed: FileMaker Pro 11 Advanced 1. Review the completed database schema to make sure it is optimized and the relationships work correctly (Basically I need a teacher to review my work ) 2. Create reports that are configured correctly & develop scripts (buttons) to produce them (I already have some but am not familiar with scripts or calculations to do more complicated reports) 3. Technical: Create a login & password for other users (currently the db is not on a FM Server); set up security for multiple users (admin, read-only), possible knowledge of networking/instant web publishing and if my I can use this feature. One major issue I am having is the db "crashing". Two or three times a day I will get a "file is damaged and cannot be opened. Use the recover command..." message. When I go to recover the file, a message comes up that says "Recover built a new db w/o detecting any problems. The new db is safe to use..." So, if everything was rebuilt with no problems found & no data missing, why does it say it was damaged? My non-technical mind believes it might have something to do with going back and forth between MAC OS X and Windows 7 using VMware Fusion. I use a Mac and most times have Windows running all day long. It's a small db but until I can get all this worked out, I am doing double duty by entering the data in FM AND Excel so that the data I am tracking & maintaining is not lost. Please someone help save me time and give me peace of mind with this database. The work must be done in our office. So, if you are in the Los Angeles area please let me know your interest, rate, resume or any other information you deem important. Email me Thank You!
  24. Hi, I don't currently have the capability (mainly the capital requirements) to setup a FileMaker server, so I'm looking for a hosted server. I was wondering what recommendations you have for companies that host? I've seen some out there, but I have no idea how good they are. The only one I've contacted so far has not answered my inquiry. Please include your thoughts on support, reliability, cost, performance, and any other issues you think I should consider. Thanks, Grant
