  1. Using MS Access 2010. Filemaker 13 Pro, Filemaker 13 Server. I have a MS Access database that that I programmed to do a lot of calculations and creates data. Now I want that data saved in a Filemaker database. I was able to create ODBC connection to the Filemaker database. I am able to view the Filemaker tables/data in MS Access. At 8AM daily I want the Access database to do the calculations, and then insert the data to Filemaker . However every time I try this, the Filemaker Login Screen comes up. And I would have to manually enter the username and password. Is there any w
  2. I'm trying to upload a new solution to FMS. When I attempted to connect using the saved credentials, it threw the error "Invalid name/password. Please try again." Unfortunately, the login pane was grayed out, so I could not make any changes. So, I went into Keychain Access and deleted the credentials. Now, there are no saved credentials, but I am still unable to access the login pane. I see my server in Local Hosts, the IP address is correct, and I can access the Admin Console. But I can't log in to upload. I have managed to lock myself out of my own server. How embarrassing is that? FMS
  3. Just upgraded to FMP 16. Now when I try to log into my solution as an admin by hitting the option key I just go straight into the solution. Unfortunately I go straight in as low level user and not as an admin so there doesn't seem to be an easy way to fix this than I can think of. Any suggestions?
  4. Hey folks, Is there a way to change the Re-login[] dialog box that pops up so that instead of "Account Name:", it says "Account Email"? I've tried using 'show custom dialog' script steps for already added account logins, and that works with one exception. When they client forgets their password, and we go into security and change the password, and then "require new password" is checked. When the client logs in to change their password, it isn't requiring it and the clients new password is stuck at whatever we changed it to. So from that experience, I went back to the default
  5. I have created a webclip for iOS with a FMP Url with the format FMP://username:password@myserver.com/mydatabase.fmp12 I have the extended privilege set to: fmreauthenticate0 to make testing easy upon first launch, it works correctly. When I press the home button on the device.. I wait 10 seconds and then I launch from the URL/Webclip I am prompted for login credentials(This shouldnt be because I am passing the credentials in via the URL. If I press cancel as the login screen, it seems to work just continue as it should with the login credentials. I am getting some complaints and confusion f
  6. My solution has a staff layout. How can I limit each user who happens to be a staff, to his/her own staff page. ie when a staff (user) logs in to the database, he/she is redirected to his own page (staff layout). the essence is just for Staff to have NO access to the records of each other. I have hidden the tool bar so as not to allow ''Go go Next Record'' navigation. I don't really know if my topic rightly suggests my intention for this post, but I am hoping you get my point. Thanks
  7. Has anyone been able to log into Facebook using Web Assistant? I've tried the following without success: WAGetURL( "http://facebook.com" ; "email=" ; "pass=[password]" ; "type=text" ) and WAGetURL( "http://facebook.com" ; "username=" ; "password=[password]" ; "type=text" )
  8. Hi, I have a password protected-database. I currently have the file options set to "Log in using" the Guest Account privileges set to the single FileMaker file. (To toggle this, I can have users hold down the option key (mac) or shift key (windows) to override this and enter an Account Name and Password that has been authorized. However, what I want to do is have it to where a user can enter in their account name and password just ONCE, and then it will save this information, to grant them access to the FileMaker database. For example, maybe a script step that triggers an edit to the file
  9. Hello everyone - new here, and looking for some knowledge. Let me start by explaining what I want to do - there may be multiple ways, or no way at all to acheive this. I have a database I have created. I have people who would like to use it. I do not own/or want to own there data/server. What I would like to be able to do is shut them out from using the layout/database if issues arise. Possibly make the layout authenticate monthly? The issue lays in the fact that I will not own or control their network or server. Help please?!?!?!
  10. Ok, before I burn thru lots of time (as I've already spent a couple hours...), I was hoping someone may KNOW if you can do peer-to-peer between iPads (3 is the goal) on a closed wifi network (no internet connection)...? AND, if so, could I set it up so that at each iPad a user can log in to show only certain layouts...? Basically, I'm aiming for a mobilized menu/prep ordering system: Cashier + Order Prep Queue + Delivery Queue TIA for any insights
  11. Is there a way for a script to "know" whether the last login attempt was sucsessful? I would like to use the outcome of the log in as an IF/THEN step. Something like... IF Get (lastloginattempt) = sucsessful perform action.... ELSE IF Get (lastloginattempt) = failed don't allow action.... It would also have to account for the user cancelling out of a log in prompt, or treat that as a failed attempt. I know there's not a Get (lastloginattempt) but I saw a Get (lasterror) which has many error codes pertaining to passwords. I'm not sure how to write the script though since
  12. I have a Personnel table with a "Last" field. On a a related table's layout, there's a field that displays all "Last" names from the "Personnel" table in a drop down (Safety Clearance:Worker 1). I would like to set it up so that the following happens when choosing a name in the "worker 1" field: (for user who's Personnel::Last = "Smith", and Account Name = "jsmith", 2nd user- "Doe", "jdoe" respectively ) Initially, the "Worker 1" field with the Personnel::Last dropdown is empty. Initially, jdoe is logged in instead of jsmith (or anyone besides jsmith) IF Worker 1 = Perso
