  1. Hi everyone, I'm trying to get attaching files go mails generated using FM17 to work. The idea is to attach a variable file to a mail-message generated for a specific record. The filename for the attachment is specific to the record and I've got a field that generates that filename (fileNamejpg01). I'm using the send mail option in a script (which is working) and the option to attach a file by giving a file path. That file path looks like this: file:../../../Desktop/werkmap/Beeldmateriaal/instagram/$fileNamejpg01 The variable part is "$fileNamejpg01" and I'm sure I'm doing something really dumb ... but don't find anything that solves the problem (or that I at least understand). Hope someone can help! Thanks, Peter
  2. HELP! This is driving me nuts. Need to send emails with an attachment from server side script. The attachment path calculates correctly, as far as I can tell. Permissions are 777 (I Know...), but the file still does not attach! This is the variable calculation that yields the path: "/Samsung SSD/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Documents/"&$filename Only problem is: attachments don't attach! I have tried every iteration I could think of: "filemac:/Samsung SSD/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Documents/"&$filename "/$filename" "<Documents>/"&$filename What am I missing here??? Thank you!! I can't believe I'm the only one who ran into this issue?
  3. Sending emails with attachments using AWS and 360works CloudMail plugin I have the CloudMail plugin working on our system and are using it to send emails from our batch emailing system. It works well complete with attachments (as URL links to uploaded files) but I wanted to make the attachments show on the email like they do with regular emails sent from an email client. i.e. they should show as a file icon, rather than a long-winded URL. It would also be good to show images of single page PDFs and JPGs. Presumably, I would have to incorporate some sort of thumbnail image creation for this. Or is there an easier way I can't think of? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated Many thanks - Anatole
  4. Does anybody know a way of directly attaching a file to gmail (via the webclient) using mail to or via the send email functions. We have multiple users that move around the building so setting up outlook for each user is becoming a nightmare. They use iPads so the send mail script function works here, but on a desktop we would like it to force open GMail or use Mailto: and take the attachment with it. I've tried everything i know about mailto and i'm at a dead end. I did think about trying to integrate google drive HOWEVER i have no experience with Googles API's.
  5. I'm using the Bulk Recipient List with EmailSetBodyFile. Let say I have one attachment to send to all my list of customers. The first email in the list will receive one attachment. The second will receive 2 attachments of the same file. The third recipient will receive 3 attachments of the same file and so on… Something fishy with this function and a loop… I did screen captures of my scripts… Thank You for your Help.
  6. I was checking to see if I create a script if there is a way that it will still add the attachements when I set the scheduler? I notice when I switch my script to "Server" the line to save to PDF is greyed out.
  7. I'm stumped by what would seem to be a simple problem. I have a script that has been sending composed e-mail successfully for months now. The e-mail send script gathers up the To Addresses, Header, and Body text, then sends the e-mail. Works fine. Now I've added the ability to include an attachment. The same script, with the attachment command (EmailAttachFile) added, works fine, except that the body text no longer is included in the e-mail -- just the attachment. If there is no attachment, the e-mail sends with the body text included. It seems I can't have both. I test for error condition after every Email command, and there are no errors thrown. I also have stepped through the script multiple times using Script Debugger, but don't see any issues. I'm using the following Email commands, in sequence: EmailConnectSMTP EmailCreate EmailSetHeader EmailAttachFile EmailSetBody EmailSend EmailDisconnect (Note: I've also tried reversing the order the EmailAttachFile and EmailSetBody commands, just in case that would help. No joy.) Any ideas?
  8. I searched for hours and found threads such as this one ; The threads explain nicely how to export files to paths and then attach them, but I have a far more simple problem. In my 'Send Mail' Option window, the 'Specify' Attachment is simply greyed out. (See attachment - no pun intended) Thus, I cannot specify a field - I can only choose one file to attach. What have I done wrong? Thanks so much in advance
  9. Hi, My database has a Send Mail script that creates an email for each contact. The Subject and Message are filled in automatically based on their respective global fields, which are editable by the users of my database. However this option is not available for attachments. My original idea is to have a global Container field where my users can insert a file, and then use the script to send out large number of emails with the inseted file as an attachment. Is there anyway I can make Filemaker create emails that also attaches whatever file my users chose automatically? The rationale behind this is that the users of my database have almost no training in Filemaker, and we often have to send emails (with attachments) to hundreds of people in one go rapidly. Any suggestions are much appreciated, thanks! MacGuffin
