  1. Hello I am trying to use the OSR help for the Productive computing FM connector. However the scroll bar on the message drop down does not seem to work. I can’t select the message I want to work with. Thanks kaps
  2. This is a wide open question without a correct answer. Maybe it will foster comments & suggestions. Over several years, at another job in another state, I cobbled together a FileMaker solution that's now an essential part of the way that business operates. That project consists of several haphazard fixes and relationships held together with baling wire and chewing gum, because we kept ading functionality as it occurred to us, and because my skill level was changing as the project grew. Now that I'm in my next life, I'm ready to start the project from scratch and try to license it as an off-the-shelf database to businesses in this line. I'm convinced that the right form for such a project is a browser interface. So my question: is there such a thing as a solution, sitting on an FMS install, that's solely accessed (by its users) via a browser window - and doesn't feel clunky? If I were a newborn, just wanting to make this project, I'd assume that the best thing was to learn PHP & Ruby & JavaScript. I'm not assuming FM is the best way just because it's what I know, but et cetera et cetera. All input, as always, is welcome.
  3. Can't seem to find this out -- If I am viewing a web page in webviewer (in Filemaker) is there any way to get that exact URL from the webviewer and open it in an external browser (i.e. Safari, Chrome)? I know the starting page already, but the user may have navigated away from that page when they want to open the external browser. I have searched this site for an answer and also other FM resources on the web. Maybe I am using the wrong search terms? Seems like a straightforward thing -- I am viewing a page in Filemaker and I need to open that page in a stand alone browser. Click a button and voila! (?) Any help is appreciated. Thanks! -Rob
  4. I would like to use the Autofill feature that is built into browsers. In Safari if you go to a form field that has a name tag like the following: <input type="text" name="FirstName" /> When you start typing your name, Safari will ask you if you want to Autofill the rest of your info. If you choose Autofill it will fill in all the fields that your computer knows (Last name, address, email, phone). The problem is that in my PHP code the name tag has code for connecting to FileMaker, like the following: <input type="text" name="<?php echo getFieldFormName('hh_pt_name_first', 0, $record);?>" value="<?php echo $record->getField('hh_pt_name_first', 0) ;?>"> So the Autofill will sometimes pop up and if you click Autofill it puts the information in the wrong fields. Does anyone know how to make the Autofill work?
  5. CLOSE the connection when close the browser tab: Mac: Firefox, Chrome, Safari. Win7: Firefox, Chrome, not tested on IE. DO NOT CLOSE the connection when close the browser tab: IOS last Ipad mini 2: Chrome, Safari.
  6. So I created a solution in Filemaker Pro and its appearance looks great.... until I open it in WebDirect on a web browser. Fields are cut off at the bottom, styles like Condense condense wrong, and rectangle boxes don't show at their full size. Also, the padding spacing on radio buttons is completely ignored. I've tried three different browsers: Safari, Firefox, and Google Chrome, and all show the exact same results. The only way I am even remotely able to change the appearance for the WebDirect browser page is by scrubbing out all the style changes (mostly Condense) and that still only changes about 20% of the inconsistencies. Thank you for any help.
  7. I have a web site that is presenting data from fields in a Filemaker Database. FM 11 Server. When viewing the text in a browser it does not see the carriage returns. Is there a way to embed some html/php in the field so that the browser will add in carriage returns?
