  1. So there's probably something simple, but do you guys know of a way to automate dates from one record to the next? Each record date needs to be seven days after the previous one, and I'd like for my client not to have to enter it manually. I tried doing Let ( Today = ( ReleaseDate ) ; Date ( Month ( Today ) ; Day ( Today ) + 7 ; Year ( Today ) ) ) and some others, but none appear to automatically fill in. Help!

  13. Hi, Firstly, thanks for the great product. I can't tell you how much it has sped up the solution process for our tutoring business. I have a few questions and issues: The Calendar Search appears not to be working, and my attempts to debug have been futile. For example, I add a ToDo called "Tutoring Session." When I search "tutoring" or "Tutoring" or "Session" or any combination thereof on the search string entry it comes up as empty search. I have gone into the script and everything seems to make sense, so perhaps I am using the search in a way it's not intended to be?I have been having issues connecting the projects module to the timesheets module. When I go to the Add Line Item I can add everything except for a project. The popover displays and I can enter everything. When I click the search icon on the project's field, the projects do show up (someone else had been having this issue before I saw). But after I click on one of the projects it doesn't go put it in the box on the popover itself. I hope this makes sense. I do not have this issue with the staff on the main data entry timesheets page. I noticed that in the relationships section of the data manager the timesheets section only connects to a staff table. Could this be the issue perhaps? I tried to fix it by adding a new table, but my attempts were futile. Is there a way to connect timesheets to Calendar, or simply to have a ToDo connected to a timesheet as well? For our tutoring business, we would like to add tutoring sessions to the Calendar as a ToDo, but we also would like to be able to track the hours each tutor has worked in the most recent pay period with the timesheets functionality. Is there a way you can recommend modifying fmstartingpoint or an easy way to integrate them like this? Having the ability to just add timesheets to the Calendar would remove the need for ToDos at all, which are tricky because they don't allow length of time for meetings, only when they start. I saw in a previous post Richard said that the new timesheets would have the ability to add the functionality easily, which would be awesome. Is there a way to create basic charts off contact data to present to the customers in a module? I have considered modifying the estimates module to do just this, but it would be helpful if there were a better solution, since you guys know better. Thanks so much for any help! Help with #2 and #3 would be greatly appreciated, as our ability to create timesheet structures them around connecting them to projects and putting them on a central calendar. Again, thanks for the great starting solution as well, which has helped so much.

  15. Hi With the release of the FM14 product line we've had some questions from users about the compatibility of our plugins (the Address Book selector for data exchange between Apple's Contacts and FM and the Calendar plugin for data exchange between Apple's Calendar and FM) so I thought I'd better post the info here: Our plugins work in FM14, as long as you open FM14 in 32 bit mode. You can set FM14 to open in 32 bit mode by selecting the application, choose ‘Get Info’ and tick the box 'open in 32 bit mode'. Our installer does not install the plugin in the FM14 extensions folder yet, but you can drag it there manually, either by copying it from the extensions folder from an earlier version of FMP, or by copying it from the Froodware folder in the Applications folder. Note: sometimes the icon of the plugin might look like a folder, but the plugin will still work normally. Please note that if you work in Mac OSX 10.9x or 10.10x you need to give Filemaker Pro access to Contacts/Calendar when using our plugins. You can do so by going to your System Preferences->Security and Privacy and add Filemaker Pro to the list of applications that is allowed to access Contacts/Calendar. We will release an update soon that will install the plugin in the FM14 Extensions folder, and fixes the icon issue. We are looking into the 64 bit version of our plugins, but we do not have an estimated release date for this yet. Feel free to contact us in case you have questions about this. (info@froodware.com) Happy Filemakering! Froodware
  16. Has anyone developed a (free or paid commercial) template for a very basic calendar system, written entirely in 100% native FileMaker lingo, also without making use of the web viewer? By very basic, I mean there is no need for drag and drop, consists of just a few tables, has one or two views, and has a scripts no longer than about a page length. I am aware that there are fully-featured commercial calendaring solutions, written in web languages - I am not interested in any of those. Should the calendar solution consist of any of the following, I would not be interested in it at all: HTML, PHP, JavaScript, JAVA, CSS, jQuery, SOAP, Python, perl, .net, Flash, or scripts and schema that require a the better portion of a ream of paper to print out. Just needing it simple, and pure FileMaker. If anyone knows of one that fits this description, please share the info, many thanks!

  18. Your FileMaker Calendar in a Browser Our Pro Calendar now includes a second set of scripts and layouts tuned for WebDirect in FileMaker Server 13. The v2 rev of FileMaker Server 13 made a lot of small improvements to WebDirect and we're pretty stoked about what we've been able to accomplish. The WebDirect calendar has almost complete feature parity with the calendar in FMPro. Filtering, resource scheduling, and even Gantt Charts all work (screenshots below). And since this is all done with unlocked, straight forward FMP layouts (some of the techniques here even come from FM 8.5) you can modify all this without getting into any crazy javascipt, php, or web publishing stuff. Learn More: Demo, Movies, and Screenshots Get what you need here: SeedCode Calendar for Pro, Go, and WebDirect New to SeedCode Calendar? Buy the Pro Calendar and follow our instructions to link it to--or embed it in--your file. Already Using SeedCode Calendar? 21. So.... Is there a definitive list anywhere of calendar implimentations & 3rd party options? 1. It would be great to have a listing of them, so one can make an intelligent decision. 2. It would also be great to have some comparisons by "knowledgeable" individuals regarding their options. I'm looking for something to inject into a solution, which allows me to easily add in project dates (from other tables), have it create deadlines (say a set of preferred alerts at X days prior to), and have the ability to tie into iCal or some other such integrated platform... Ideas?
  22. I have a simple app that is tracking sessions with clients. 1 client, multiple sessions. On another layout page, we set up the next appointment. I need that appointment to go into the IOS calendar (so alarms, alerts, etc... will work). Any thoughts? Thanks!

  24. Dear all, I am running a b&b and run into the following issue. I have a calendar with a check in date and a calendar with a check out date. The period of time selected into these calendars should result into the following: 1) number of weekend days (whereas weekend days are definable i.e. friday/saturday or saturdays/sundays) 2) number of work days (also definable: ie weekdays can be defined starting on either sunday or mondays) 3) a total of nights stayed. (check in date - minus check out date) I can't seem to find the way to calculate 1 and 2 and how to set this up. Anybody knows the trick for this? Thanks in advance.
