Hi all I'm trying to export my filemaker records to my external sql database via the execute sql script step but am getting a number of errors. I can see my external ODBC source and can generally write to it (I can go to the respective layout and click 'new record'). My query basically as follows: "INSERT INTO dbo.Log ( dbo.Log.log_id, dbo.Log.log_case_idf, dbo.Log.Labour_TOTALS_Labour_Cost, dbo.Log.Labour_TOTALS_Item_Sale) SELECT Log_Log.log_id, Log_Log.log_case_idf, Log_Log.Labour_TOTALS_Labour_Cost, Log_Log.Labour_TOTALS_Item_Sale, FROM Log WHERE Log_Log.Log_Type = '2'" My first question is: is it even possible to export to an odbc source with a 'insert INTO SELECT' query? Many thanks
Hi all, I am facing a strange issue in doing searching/relational link for a DATE type data. I am having 2 global fields (g_StartDate, g_EndDate ) to take input (DATE) and there is a column exist on the table creation date (DateCreated_xd) based on the input date range I am filtering list of records. While I do the search its working as per the requirements but when my client use the same file with same date range it doesn't fiend anything. The issue is not in my programing/scripting but the issue in the DATA. I am from India and I am using a system which is having system settings (LANGUAGE, DATE & TIMING) US English. Where as my client is an Australian guy who uses their system settings. Date in my format is MM/DD/YYYY But Date format of my client is DD/MM/YYYY The field DateCreated_xd is an auto entered field so its set data as MM/DD/YYYY format when I create the records and when my client create records Filemaker set the Date data in format DD/MM/YYYY. So the issue is that the records created by me are not shows while my client use the application and when I use the application I am not able to see records created by him. Can anyone advice me how can I get rid of this issue so that the date format for both will be remain same and the search issue will fixed. a great thanks in advance Manjit
milanm posted a topic in External Data SourcesI am trying to run Execute SQL script to populate a particular field (password) in MySQL table to which FileMaker 13 is connected using MySQL ODBC driver. The driver is already connected and i imported the tables i need, so it works perfect all arround BUT - when i Execute SQL from FileMaker to MySql it prompts me for a username and a password for the ODBC data source and when i import the details similar to the ones i am already using to connect ODBC driver with MySQL it rejects my credentials. I am working on Apple and the database and the ODBC driver are hosted on Windows 2012 Server if this might be important. Could anybody tell me why is this happening and which username and password is it asking for in the first place? Thank you
kat012002 posted a topic in Script Workspace and Script TriggersHello All, I have a file with shipment information that I need to import into separate tables, a shipment name/id table and a shipment line items table. The problem is it is formatted in a way that the shipment name/id is located in column 2, row 1. The shipment line item information starts at row 9 and but the number of subsequent lines vary with each shipment. I’m not sure how to go about writing a script to create a new shipment in the shipment table using the value from column 2/row 1, then create child records in the shipment line items table with the values starting at row 9. I have written a couple executeSQL calculations that gather the shipment name and line item information I need but I can’t figure out how to use the data from the executeSQL calc to create the shipment line items records. Is there a better way to do this? Any help and/or suggestion would be very much appreciated!
