  2. I am posting my database to Filemaker cloud. I have tested my solution on FM Go 16 without issue and wanted to begin to test on Web Direct. After configuring the file in FileMaker Advanced for Web Direct and testing successfully on my Mac, the file is no longer available in FM Go 16. Should you be able to run a file over Filemaker cloud and access via FM Go or Web Direct as the user chooses, or is it one or the other?
  3. In this article we cover how to build a beautiful sliding drawer menu that works on both FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Go. 6. San Diego, CA - February 14, 2017 - Productive Computing, Inc., a Platinum member of the FileMaker Business Alliance, is proud to announce the release of Vessel Service Solutions (VSS) version 2.4.0.0. This vertical solution was designed for the marine assistance industry and operates as a virtual command center to manage vessel assistance orders. VSS version 2.4 offers additional functionality, new iPad and iPhone layouts, and new QuickBooks functionality. What is VSS? VSS utilizes FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Go to allow captains to fully digitalize the entire tow order process from beginning to end. As soon as distress calls are received, any employee has the ability to send mobile orders from the office or an iOS device to themselves or other in-field captains. The captain receives the order on an iPad and, after assisting the boater, updates and submits the order to dispatch for final processing. VSS also allows invoices and items to be pushed one at a time or in batches to QuickBooks via the FM Books Connector. "When we started working on the new version of VSS, we asked for feedback from our current customers. What was working well, what processes and features could be improved, and was there anything that could enhance their team's workflow? The responses we got back were tremendous. This release was truly a collaborative effort and resulted in some exciting improvements to the system." Marc Larochelle, Chief Executive Officer, Productive Computing, Inc. Updates in version 2.4 focus on the mobile functionality available with FileMaker Go and include: - Access on an iPhone using FileMaker Go - Dispatch orders remotely from an iPad or iPhone - Create new orders on the iPad with no internet connection - Manage multiple tower IDs and assign IDs to ports - Automatically create timer entries when submitting orders to dispatch - Push multiple invoices to QuickBooks at one time This release also features updates to the Orders, Fuel Log, Maintenance, and Reports modules for improved ease of use, protection against bad data entry, and increased automation. To accompany this release, there are new instructional videos that review all new features and additional tips and tricks for using the system. Every business, even in the same industry, has different business standards and practices. Building VSS in FileMaker has allowed for the creation and continued improvement of a comprehensive solution that is also easy to customize specific to a client's needs. 7. [FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE] SYNELOGIS eliminates paperwork in freight transportation with help of 24U and FileMaker Platform Small company brings European freight transportation to the 21st century via modern technologies and a custom FileMaker app developed by 24U LAS VEGAS — July 18, 2016 SYNELOGIS s.r.o., the Czech Republic based logistics company is achieving its mission to reform European freight transportation by using a custom app developed in partnership with 24U Software within 6 weeks using the FileMaker Platform. The SYNELOGIS company strives to bring synergy to logistic processes by using modern technologies and sharing data between sales, transportation, stock, logistics, and the customer in real time. "Our company can provide information to the customer immediately with the help of modern technologies. Current trends are that in the future we won't need papers. My strive so that the customer does not have to sign a paper he throws away later. We use tablets and these devices help us to minimize the time information needs to flow from the supplier to the customer," says Jiří Šimák, SYNELOGIS CEO. At the beginning of 2016, SYNELOGIS got a new opportunity to replace an inefficient hauler by starting their own freight transportation business. This opportunity was conditioned by the requirement to start the operation from the 1st of March, i.e. in less than two months. SYNELOGIS partnered with the FileMaker Business Alliance Member 24U s.r.o. to create a custom app called Synetrans within only 6 weeks to achieve the goal of taking advantage of their unique opportunity. "By using the FileMaker Platform for development, we were not only able to create the app in such a short time, but also to flexibly modify the app in response to requirements coming from the experience after deployment," said Milan Zach, lead developer at 24U. Dispatchers use the app to plan routes to efficiently deliver shipments to their destinations. Synetrans lets them see an up-to-date analysis of expected cost and profit from the very beginning. Truck drivers use a mobile version of the custom app, based on FileMaker Go, on the iPad. as a complete replacement for paper waybills. Thanks to the mobile app drivers stay constantly in touch with dispatchers, without compromising their safety while driving or wasting time by unscheduled breaks. "Undoubted benefit of the app is that both drivers and dispatchers gain new willingness to work. Synetrans has also helped us to analyze a lot of data and disprove some doubts if our processes were efficient and if the shipments we accept to transport using our own trucks are profitable," said Jan Čech, CEO at SYNELOGIS Read the full story at http://www.24uSoftware.com/Synetrans About 24U Software With a team of full-time testers, web, plug-in, Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android native app developers, and FileMaker certified developers, led by the FileMaker DevCon 2015 Developer Cup champion, 24U excels in taking care of existing FileMaker solutions, optimizing their performance, identifying and resolving potential issues and liabilities, improving reliability, stability and scalability, integrating them with other systems including various hardware devices, and extending them beyond expectation. 12. San Diego, CA - April 12, 2016 - Productive Computing, Inc., a Platinum member of the FileMaker Business Alliance, is proud to announce the release of Vessel Service Solutions (VSS) version 2. This vertical solution was designed for the marine assistance industry and operates as a virtual command center to manage vessel assistance orders. VSS version 2 offers additional features and modules, a completely redesigned UI, and improved processes for users. What is VSS? VSS was built with a “paperless and efficient” philosophy and allows users to fully digitalize the entire tow order process from beginning to end. As soon as distress calls are received, dispatchers have the ability to send mobile orders straight from the office to in-field captains. The captain receives the order on an iPad and, after assisting the boater, updates and submits the order to dispatch for final processing. VSS also allows invoices and items to be pushed directly to QuickBooks via the FM Books Connector. What's New? VSS version 1 provided companies with a customizable framework they could employ to achieve a paperless solution. Version 2 has been crafted with industry input and takes the entire tow order process to the next level by offering the user a truly comprehensive solution. Dispatch can send, receive, and submit orders for payment without printing a single document. Using FileMaker Go, captains can receive, update, and send orders from their iPads. They can even perform data entry while at sea without an internet connection. Version 2 has expanded functionality to allow users to maintain fuel logs, maintenance logs, maintenance schedules, time sheets, and pull various reports. As with most FileMaker products, this solution allows for customization, including the ability to personalize all terms, disclaimers, notes and signature requirements, company information, tower ID, and company logo in the modules. "We're quite excited about the new and improved VSS, because this dynamic solution enables users to efficiently and digitally dispatch, track, and manage tow orders, eliminating the need for time-consuming paperwork, resulting in improved accuracy and turnaround time. We've had a lot of support from industry leaders, and we're pleased to be delivering something we think will continue to greatly help the boat towing industry" - Marc Larochelle, Chief Executive Officer, Productive Computing, Inc. 13. How do FM Go developers handle the whole e-commerce thing? I've been hunting around the web for the past few days without success, looking for a detailed how-to guide for FM specifically. Is the arena so competitive that, similar to writing a good book on poker, participants are reluctant to give up their secrets? I'm starting to get that impression. My standalone FM iOS app works locally after installing Go to iPhone/iPad. With just one screen and one record, it works like a calculator with various buttons and a few popups. It's almost as simple as a Hello World application. Merely finding information about how to post it online for sale---someplace other than the App Store, which doesn't accept FM databases---is turning out to be a major chore. If no full-fledged tutorial exists, maybe someone can offer a few helpful pointers? (Already know all about web programming...it's just the money part I need guidance with.)
  14. I have a need to save a series of photos directly to the camera roll. I'm familiar with Export Field Contents, but not on iOS, and I can't seem to find much documentation on iOS pathing. Is it possible to save a photo directly to the Camera Roll and bypass the FileMaker documents folder? Thanks, Ryan
  15. I have recently setup a Brother QL-710W printer for making labels from Filemaker Go, but have run into a strange page setup problem. It is a label printer that is AirPrint enabled, which allows printing from iOS devices. The printer seems to be working fine, but I have a strange problem when printing the same layout from FM Go (on an iPhone), whereas it is fine using FM Pro. The problem seems to be that the FM Go inappropriately rotates the page from landscape to portrait causing the page to get truncated. (I run a page setup script ahead of time to set the non-standard page size and orientation) What's even weirder is that I can work around the problem if, on the FM Go print dialog, I choose "PDF > View" and then print this; but not if I choose "Print" directly within the FM Go dialog. Also if I choose the "Print" option first, and then later go back choose the "PDF > View" option then the rotation will also have changed to portrait and the image is truncated. It seems as though the "Print" button is changing the rotation back to portrait (even though it is not selected) and it comes out that way on the subsequent print out or when viewing a PDF version. As any one had print rotation issues from Filemaker Go?
  16. Hello friends I am using FM 13 advanced, and in it i have many slide controls within the different tabs I have, its working perfectly on my macbook pro, but its not even showing in the FM go on the iPad, the tabs are there though.. Any idea how can I fix that? thanx
  17. Hi Can anyone help, I've stored Scanned PDF's of purchase invoices on our FM database which is running on FM server 13. Stored externally and secure storage option on the container field. We can view the files fine on FM pro but when we try and view on FM Go goes to a web view and errors and does not show the PDF. How do you view stored pdf's in filemaker go? Hi  When Custom Menu is configured on an application actions on Filemaker Go Container Field are affected showing less options than default.  On an image view and export options are not present on enabled Custom Menu, only replace and replace keep visible.  On a video again only replace and replace keep visible, play and export are not present.  I hope anyone can help telling me which commands should I enable on Custom Menu so this options continue enabled on Filemaker Go.  Thanks AM  Â
  19. Hi All, I'm in the process of designing a Filemaker Go 13 solution for my company. One of the layouts has six questions which the relevant response in Pop-over menus. I have also set the tab order which opens the next questions Pop-over answer options. Once the last question has been answered I'd like to highlight a button.I realise that the tab order for iOS does not recognise buttons. I have tried to use the following with no success. Script Trigger on last question field: OnObjectModify with script GoTo Object naming the button I would like to highlight At the moment the script trigger is ignored and the first question is highlighted again, as in the tab order going in a loop. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks Zab

  23. I was pulling my hair out earlier due to a problem with FileMaker Go 13.0.2 on my iPhone 5S (updated OS). I'm running it against a FileMaker 13 server hosted at FileMakerProHosting.com and developed the database with FileMaker Pro 13 Advanced. I have a simple layout for updating a table. On the iPhone, I would click on a field and modify the contents and then go to another record and do the same (List view). If I went back to the original record and tried to modify the field, again, I would get the subject message. Actually, if I went to any record, I got the same message. This would NOT occur on FileMaker Pro 13 Advanced on my Mac. Nor would it happen on my iPad running FileMaker Go 13.0.2 (same version). The problem seems to be unique to the iPhone. I also noticed that my Mac and iPad were not getting any of the field updates I was able to make on the iPhone prior to the error appearing. This makes me think FileMaker Go was in some funky state and not pushing updates--it thought the field was still in the midst of a change. What I do recall is that earlier I had become interested in learning how well Siri would work to enter data into a field. This may or may not have anything to do with the issue surfacing. I have tried using Siri on my iPad and experienced no problems with this same layout. If I logged the iPhone out of the database and reconnected, I would have the same experience. It seems I can update one record, but when I go to another, the problem seemed to surface. Note--the Layout is set to "Save record changes automatically". I tried adding a script trigger to force a commit when leaving the field, but without any benefit. I then tried powering down/up the iPhone and that seems to have fixed the issue. I don't know how to report this to FileMaker, but I do know from other threads that others have experienced this same issue. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. We're close to putting this system in the field to manage all of our service techs and I'm a bit anxious the problem will surface, again.
  24. I think this is a bug but can't find any mention of it. Has anyone else seen this? This is true with FileMaker Go 12 + 13  Problem: Create two "collections" of UI elements (fields, button, graphics, etc.) and pin one to the right of the screen and one to the left of the screen, so that when iOS device is rotated in landscape mode the right-hand collection is visible and when in portrait mode the right-hand collection is hidden behind the left-hand collection.  If one of the UI elements on the right-hand side is a portal, this still works as expected. If that portal has scrolling enabled, it pops to the foreground even when it's hidden behind the left-most collection of UI elements. I've attached two pictures to demonstrate this behavior.  All it takes is to check the "enable scrollbar" option in the portal and the popping to the foreground happens. If you uncheck that option, the portal stays hidden as expected.  This has been driving me crazy. Does anyone have insight into this problem?    Â
  25. Hi all My problem is in Filemaker Go I take a photo with iPad or iPhone in a container field. Now I want to insert a symbol in a point over the photo (over the container field). The symbol maybe a character or png transparent picture. This symbol have to a ID field inside database linked to data. I can have many symbols over container field. It's like a geographic map with symbols over the map at specific coordinates. I want to substitute the map with normal photo. I tested many solutions but nothing is good: the most near is to create a trasparent grid over the container field and any cell of grid is a clickable boolean field : 0 is transparent, 1 is red transparent and this field is linked to data. This solution is partial. Now Filemaker Go 13 has base64 encode/decode data and it is possible to insert a photo in container field and view it in a webviewer field. There is show/hidden object function. Is there a solution with interactive javascript in a webviewer to insert a base64 symbol and linked the object to data? Other methods?? Thanks in advance
