  1. The 24U's latest FileMaker plug-in now allows for mobile custom apps to securely process credit card payments on the go. Prague, CZ -- June 28, 2019 -- 24U Software has released Gonector 1.2.2, a new version of the latest FileMaker plug-in designed specifically for mobile custom apps running on iPads and iPhones. The new version adds direct support for mobile payment terminals from Infinite Peripherals and Ingenico, making it possible to seamlessly integrate credit card payments processing directly to the custom app developed with the FileMaker platform. About payment terminals Accepting credit card payments on the go has strict security requirements, which are even not the same on the east and west sides of the Atlantic ocean. Common approach is that the mobile sales person is equipped with a stand-alone payment terminal, so whatever amount they need to charge needs to be manually entered on the terminal's keyboard. If the source of the data about the sale is a custom app running on an iPhone or iPad, the most convenient way to implement the payment process is to integrate the payment terminal directly with the app, so that the sales person does not have to re-type the payment amount to the terminal. The application also securely receives confirmation or denial of the payment, so it immediately and reliably knows, whether the payment was successful. The payment terminal takes care of reading encrypted data from the customer's credit card. In Europe it also takes care of directly processing the payment transaction online with the credit card issuer. In North America the payment terminal can just provide the encrypted data to the custom app, which then uses payment processing service, such as Stripe, to actually process the payment transaction. About Gonector Gonector is a FileMaker plug-in that allows a native application for iPhone or iPad to communicate directly with mobile hardware devices. Being able to interact with professional mobile devices enables you to use the FileMaker platform to create a POS, Inventory and lots of other heavy-duty mobile business apps with friendly, fast, and reliable user interface. The plug-in already supports mobile receipt printers, RFID readers, barcode scanners, digital weighing scales, and even NFC reading built into iPhone 7 or newer, which does not require any additional hardware to work. Since the mobile processing differs between North America and Europe, 24U has chosen one popular brand of payment terminals for each continent, Infinite Peripherals for North America, and Ingenico for Europe, and added support for their devices to the Gonector plug-in to allow such seamless integration for custom apps developed using the FileMaker platform. Availability and Pricing of Gonector Licenses for Gonector start at US$499 per app deployed to up to 20 users. License for Payment Terminals Edition of Gonector is available for US$7999 and includes implementation support for one type of payment terminal. 2. Hello! I am using Go on an iPad and trying to trigger remote scripter on another machine. This is done easily enough with an open URL script step. What I really want to do is trigger the script without having to leave FM and launch the browser. Anyone have an idea of how to do this? Thanks in advance, Wes
  3. I have a layout for my Contacts, in list view. Each row contains the Contact Name and a POPOVER to edit the Contact information.  When the list is longer (beyond the iPhone 4s screen size), click the popover to edit, the title bar seems to slide up (see pics), and I see a single field fully, click 'next' and it scrolls to the next field... I am happy with that.   However, when the list does not exceed the iPhone 4s screen size, click the popover to edit, the title bar does not seem to slide up (see pics), and I am only able to see a portion of the field (which makes it difficult to type information in), click 'next' and it scrolls to the next field (again only allowing a portion of the field to be seen)... I am NOT happy with that.   Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a way to ensure that the field is fully visible, regardless of the length of the list?
  4. Hi, Got a real strange issue.... My button bars look fine, slightly offset, but fine on the desktop version... But as soon as I look on FM Go, one of the text boxes just floats away? - I have tried moving it around and changing the size and i just get the same issue but with different buttons? See images... Thanks
  5. I'm in the early stages of building an app for iOS that would serve multiple purposes. A few of the options will send emails to a specific account that would be monitored for call-backs. We'd like few of the other options would be to place orders in our current Filemaker system, but I don't see a way to do that without FM:GO, and as nice as it looks, a dedicated database app is not really the solution we're looking for right now. Is there any way at all to make table updates or query FMP databases with native code similar to how I'd work with PHP+MySQL or C#+MSSQL, or am I out of luck?
  6. I had a request to print PDFs from an iPad. In the past I created a bot that based on Sic Fried Rice's (if I'm not mistaken) technique would print a label on a label printer by triggering a script from the iPad. I would like to be able print without setting up a Bot, PHP or using a plugin. I got close but for some reason I'm stuck on the last bit and I'm sure other developers have done this before. So the process I came up with so far is: 1, I found a lightweight utility called SumatraPDF which I copied to the Doc folder on the Windows FM 14 server 2. I populated a global field with the batch file string to print the document (e.g. "C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Server\Data\Documents\sumatrapdf" "C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Server\Data\Documents\1.pdf" -print-to-default) 3. I created a print script for the iPad that runs a PSOS script that exports the global field to the documents folder and opens it So when running the script from the iPad I can see it creates the correct batch file on the server and I can click on it manually to run - it works Problem is it doesn't print when run from the iPad. Maybe 'open automatically' isn't supported on PSOS? I'm open to other ideas.... Dan Update: seems that it is unrelated to printing - the batch file just doesn't get run.
  7. Hi, Beacuse I want to maintain users more easily I want to change several FM Server hosted files to External Authentication instead of FM Authentication. I have tested it, and it works fine so far on when using a FM Pro Client, and the external Auhenticator is the Active Directory on a Windows Server. But I can not make it Work on FM Go or when using Webdirect. So my question is, is it possible to make it work on the following: Filemaker Go WebDirect PHP Web Publishing (for security I might want to create an separate account for this directly in FM) Filemaker Pro clients running on machines that are NOT domain (AD) members. There doesnt seem to be a lot of settings in FM regarding External Authentication, so I might have to change something in the AD? It is my impression that Filemaker will first look at the local machines domain membership, but if it is not a member, it will look at the FMS box' Windows accounts and/or domain membership? Is that correct, or any ideas how to accomplish this? Benjamin
  8. Hi I've been trying to use the Insert from Device script step to insert a camera image into a container field. However this particular command, on the iPad, creates an Error 4: "This script step "<unknown>" is not supported on this device." FM Go_iPad 12.0.8 on an iPad 2 and an iPad Air, both using iOS 7.1. The database (attached) was created using 13.v01. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks in advance. David photo.fmp12.zip
