  1. So here's the tech involved: Microsoft SQL 2014 FileMaker Server 14 FileMaker Pro 15 IIS/PHP The project involves submitting information via web form into the SQL database and then viewing it in a FileMaker portal connected to the database via ODBC. I've done this before, no big deal... except one feature that was thrown at me. Ability to submit images through the web portal and view them through FileMaker I've done image submittal via PHP before, but viewing them in FileMaker is a new one. I've seen some stuff on converting the images to BASE64 then converting them back in a FileMaker container field, but the information was several years old and I'm checking to see if there was any more modern way to handle it; and if it still needs to be done that way, I need some clarification on how to accomplish this.
  2. I am using FMP13 dark theme as default to design a layout with a tab control set, I insert a container field the last (deepest) tab. Alas! the image in the container is shown in every tab, as if it was on top of the tab control. What's wrong? Thanks for your help
  3. Hello, The images in the webviewer look crisp, but when I save them to PDF they become blurry and unusable. How can I save the images to a PDF file without changes of the resolution? - I am running FM11 Pro in a local network (with my iMac as server). - Webviewer style: "?style=noapplet+left+noscroll+nodelete"
  4. I have a layout for printing on a letterhead and have inserted an image file as the Background Image to serve as the letterhead. Printing and Save to PDF work as expected, but for the life of me I cannot get the background image to display correctly in Preview mode. Not displaying correctly in Preview mode is not terrible except, when the client does a print preview and it doesn't line up, there will be questions...even though it print correctly. Basically, it looks like the background image has a pre-determined padding applied to it at the top, but all parts and objects are set to padding 0. Has anyone else experienced this? Preview mode - letterhead has padding Printed PDF - the letterhead is up where it should be:
  5. Hi, I imported an Image from my server into webviewer via this.: "data:text/html, <html> <head><img src='" & "http://www.LisaPrice.info/fahrtenbuch/images/" & Buggy Fahrtenbuch::fileversion & "/eingabelocked2.jpg" & "' style='width:100%; height:100%;' /></head> <body style='border: 0; margin: 0'> </body> </html>" The Result is an image without any borders. Works perfect. When I import the image as an html, I keep getting a wireframe, and it seems this wireframe is generated by webviewer. Can anybody help me. My html file behind the Url: "http://www.LisaPrice.info/fahrtenbuch/images/" & Buggy Fahrtenbuch::fileversion & "/eingabelocked2.htm" is <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"/> <title>Untitled 1</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; cellspacing: 0px; cellpadding:0px; border:0px } --> </style> </head> <body> <img src="welcome2.jpg" width="332" height="216" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" /> </body> </html> my content in the settings of the webviewer is: SuperContainer_noBorder ("http://www.LisaPrice.info/fahrtenbuch/images/" & Buggy Fahrtenbuch::fileversion & "/eingabelocked295.htm") And my function "SuperContainer_noBorder" is: "data:text/html,<html>¶ <head> <style> html, body { height: 100%; width: 100%; overflow:hidden; } body { margin : 0px 0px 0px 0px; border :0px; } table { border-collapse: collapse; width : 100%; height : 100%; overflow:hidden; } td {" & "text-align : left;" & "vertical-align : top;" & "font-family : "Arial"; font-size : 75%; font-smooth : always; } </style> </head> <body>¶ <table><tr><td>¶" & " <iframe src=" & link &" frameborder="0" width="100%" height="100%" frameborder='0' scrolling='no' marginheight='0' marginwidth='0'> <p>Your browser does not support iframes.</p> </iframe> " & "</td></tr></table>¶ </body>¶ </html>" I believe somwhere in the function, the wireframe is generated or not eliminated, but I canot find where. Can anybody help me please? On the attached file, the two images on the right are imported as jpg vie the first code in webviewer. Everything works fine, no frame . The left blue window, just blue is a jpg imported as html vie the other codes and steps. And the frame is clearly visible. Regards Lisa
  6. Hello all, I moved a folder and all of my container fields now show error messages because they map to the older folder location and not he new one. I found this amazingly inspiring solution online: http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/549/kw/patterncount Unfortunately, when I get to the last part, the ImagePath field I created is grayed out, so I cannot equate it to File Name for the import. Does anyone have any ideas why that might be? The images are all PDF documents imported as Quicktime. I don't know if that matters, but I have a feeling it might. Anyone able to help? Thanks! B
  7. Hello all. I've been using FM for years and years but really consider myself a novice who has never utilized some of the more sophisticated features of FM. I'm running FM 12.0v5. I've often wondered if I could do the following: I have a custom-created FM database which catalogs my large CD collection with fields such as "Artist", "Title", "Label", "Number" and so on. I've always dreamed that it would be great to add a container field to the database, and, based on the Artist, Title, Label and Number conduct an online search for the CD artwork and have an internet site(s) return and paste into the container field that artwork. I know Amazon is a good source of CD artwork and that their are other sources. Is this even doable? Highly complex? A piece of cake? Can anyone give me some suggestions on whether this is possible and if so, a step-by-step "how to" on making this happen. What about not only letting FM scour a site but returning, say, only images that are 500x500 pixels? I've always thought I should be able to do something like this but I just don't know. I'd love to have this artwork just flow into that container field like magic! Thank you for reading this post and for any guidance any of you might provide. snazz123
  8. We get excited about adding innovation to the FileMaker platform! Today we are showing you how to use machine learning in FileMaker to detect objects, scenes, and images. This can be useful for FileMaker databases that need to be able to identify objects and characteristics within an image file and report on the findings within the solution. Joe Martin, Senior Developer and Product Lead at 360Works, is demonstrating the process in the video below. He will be building off of AWS scripts from Jesse Barnum, President of 360Works, from his presentation at the 2018 FileMaker Developer Conference. See Jesse's past presentation and scripts in "Session Materials". 9. Hi to all, I am pretty new in creating databases, so I ask for your patience. English is not my native language, so I may do few mistakes. I ask for your patience I am creating a database. What I want is to create a dropdown list with three choises. When a user selects, lets say "Option A" I want a specific image (such as image-a.jpg) to appear in a certain field. When he chooses "option B" another image (image-b.jpg) should be "attached" in this particular field and so on. What are the steps that I have to follow? Please try to be as specific as possible! Thank you very much for your help! George
  10. Hi I can not fiddle out how to make it work. I have tried several browsers with same result. We are using FM 12 server. I tried this file paths file:///C:/file.jpg C:/file.jpg file://localhost/C:/file.jpg and few others I'm using this code in the Web Viewer which is working fine in FM client but not in browser "data:text/html, <html> <head> <style type=text/css> " & table::style & " </style> </head> <body> <div class='thumb'> <span class='helper'></span><img class='thumb' src='" & table::ThumbnailPath & "'> </div> </body> </html>" If it's caused by fact image is not present in web site folder as stated in document then my question is if it possible use unc network path in filename like file://///other_than_fmserver/networkpath/file.jpg. I wasn't successful either. Any help appreciated Thank you
  11. Hi all, I'm having trouble syncing container fields. I am using the latest version of MirrorSync (2.012) and when I run a sync, I get a "Sync completed successfully" status, however, when I check the online database, the images stored in the container fields in the spoke have not been synced, and the same vice versa. I have checked the external data sources and the URL and filename information is correct. Port 5003 is open and forwarded. When i run the Sync a second time, i get a message saying sync successful, and a breakdown of what has changed, which shows 1 item modified, even when there have been no further records changed in the database. I am assuming this has something to do with the image from the container field but when i check, this is still not populated. does anyone have any ideas? Lloyd
  12. We just upgraded to FileMaker 13 and Filemaker 13 Server running on a server with Windows 12 server OS Our database contains inventory of some 200 thousand Items, each Item has a photo associated with it. The Photos are located in a folder on the server. Is there a way I can relate the Item# and the Photo saved as the same name as the Item# that is located in a File Folder. Item# = 12345 Photo = 12345.jpg (the Folder name is MASTERIMAGE) I tried this "imagewin:/c://‪MASTERIMAGE/Item#"&".jpg" but it won't work Can anyone help?
  13. I have developed a solution for IOS devices which also utilizes scripts that facilitate importing of GPS coordinates and especially photos from the device, i.e. iPhone or iPad, within FMGo. Although I have scripted the possibility of emailing images originally captured by the solution outside of the solution, there does not seem to be a possibility for exporting the captured image to the Photos app and thus pushing them to the iCloud. I know one could first capture the image in the Camera app and then import it into a container within the solution, but this distracts from the all-in-one nature of my solution, where quick image capture is paramount. Ideally, the user would use the solution to capture the image and related contextual data, but also elect to save such an image in the Photo app at a later stage to permit sharing it to social media apps, for example. I'm fairly advanced, having used FM since the Claris days.
  14. Hi There, First of all many thanks to creators for amaizng plugin. What is the syntax for inserting images to excel? ScribeDocWriteValue ( “addImage()”; image ; page ; x location ; y location ; height ; width ) Do not work for xlsx with error about invalid cell name (first parameter is function adn for excel it seams it is not recognized) for pdf works fine as in demo expample I tried standard syntax for excel where first parameter is table cell and second is image in container but it do not insert the image. 15. Hi all, I'm using trying to add an image to a PDF in Scribe, the process works well, however the image I'm using is a PNG with transparency. The image is stored in FM and the transparency is retained, if I export the field contents, it is retained too. When the image is added to the PDF, it loses the transparency, and the are replaced with white, which means I can't see what's under it. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it resolved/resolvable, or is this something where I need to find an alternative solution? Thanks
  16. Here's a ScriptMaster module to color invert an image from a container field. The containerField input should be a text field with the name of the container field. You might need to increase your java memory size if you try to use this with a large image (http://docs.360works.com/index.php/Heapspace_Out_of_Memory_Error) //Invert Image (containerField) import javax.imageio.ImageIO; import java.awt.image.BufferedImage; import java.awt.image.RescaleOp; InputStream input; try{ input = fmpro.getContainerStream(containerField); } catch(e){ throw new RuntimeException( e ); return false; } BufferedImage img = ImageIO.read(input); RescaleOp op = new RescaleOp(-1.0f, 255f, null); BufferedImage negative = op.filter(img, null); return negative; Cheers jp
