  1. To summarise the problem, we have deployed part of our solution in IWP using HTTPS and have a problem downloading any file from a container field using Internet Explorer versions 7 & 8 (the other common browsers are fine). When clicking into a container, the file download appears to start and then you get an error stating that "data.file" cannot be found. I've been searching around the Internet looking for a solution to this problem - I've found a couple of threads, but found nothing useful. (you may find my posts at the bottom, before I decided to try and amalgamate the threads here). http://fmforums.com/forum/topic/56723-iwp-pdf-downloads-over-https-fail-in-ie7/ http://fmforums.com/forum/topic/67123-internet-explorer-could-not-download-pdf-in-container-field/ http://forums.filemaker.com/posts/d6404f1366 (between myself and FileMaker support). Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated, if I can find or hear a solution, I will post the answer (or a link) in this thread.
  2. Hi, I get the following message in Filemaker. FMP is running on Windows Server 2008 Terminal Service. And I also always getting this Can someone help me here?
  3. Hi everyone, We have a newly deployed OS X 10.10.5 Server with FMS14 installed with only 3 databases hosted, all accessible via Web Direct. Now some of our customers are experiencing difficulties with even accessing our solutions, which we have narrowed down to local network problems at our customers. The problem is, the login window is not showing, and therefore they can't access the databases. Now, the problem is somehow browser based.. I went through the login process with a customer, which was sitting with Windows 8.1 / IE.. Now when trying to connect to the database the customer gets the following message "Failed to load the bootstrap javascript ./VAADIN/vaardinBootstrap.js" I then tried to connect to the database through Chrome, which worked perfectly fine! Is there something I can do for the customer or on our Server, to prevent this message for future customers? Best regards Christoffer
  4. I am sending a calculated URL to a Web Viewer. The web service (MailChimp) I am sending to returns a JSON file. This displays fine on a Mac in the Web Viewer and I am able to parse the content out and back into FileMaker, completing the loop. On Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8 beta) I get a dialog box popup when the JSON file comes back that says "Do you want to Save this file or find a program online to open it?" Type: Unknown File Type. The file I am working is a demo file for a lengthy (3-part) blog entry on integrating FileMaker Pro with MailChimp. Download Demo File here A Google search suggests that what is happening is that Internet Explorer (IE) doesn't have the appropriate MIME type for a JSON file. I found a response on another forum suggesting a way to get IE to accept JSON files, but changing the registry as recommended doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?
  5. Hi all, I have a solution running on WebDirect. Each record stores a url that needs to be opened in Internet Explorer only and not other browsers. I know that I can call that url and it will open it in users default web browser. Is there any way of opening it in Internet explorer, no matter what is the default browser? Regards,
  6. I need to be able to find the version of Internet Explorer that is installed from a FileMaker script, so that I can prompt my users to install the latest version of IE. I have done a lot of research and have found a way to do it on WinXP and Server 2003, but that method does not work on Vista, 7, and Server 2008. Any help would be appreciated.
