  1. My old fp7 solution had some fields that store the path to external pdf files, the files were stored in the same server machine and the path were like "file://oldserver/folder/file", the pdf files are shown in the solution through a webviewer field. The solution is developed under the 'separation model'. I just converted the solution to FM15 and I moved into a new server, at present I have both servers up and running, so the fmp12 database with fields pointing to "file://oldserver/folder/file" still shows pdf files as expected. Given that I want the paths to point to a certain folder into the new server I'm trying to find the right path to the new location of files but so far I haven't been able even thought I made sure that users fmserver and fmsadmin have full permissions on the folder that stores the pdf files. On the other hand I've seen that FMS15 creates a folder named "RC_Data_FMS" with a subfolder for each fmp12 file where the external container data is meant to be stored. Am I forced to store my pdf files in there OR somewhere else in the network? Thank you in advance.
  2. I have a desktop solution that has images that are stored in a shared folder on the server. To view the images I mount the shared folder on each workstation and use calculation fields to display the images. Here are examples of the calculations: imagewin:/O:/Images/1100231/Initial/Portrait Profile.jpg imagemac:/OEFiles/Images/1100231/Initial/Portrait Profile.jpg I am writing a FileMaker Go solution to work alongside our desktop solution. I need to display the same images in FileMaker Go and have tried numerous ways. Examples: image:/192.168.1.9/OEFiles/Images/1100231/Initial/Portrait Profile.jpg image://192.168.1.9/OEFiles/Images/1100231/Initial/Portrait Profile.jpg image:///192.168.1.9/OEFiles/Images/1100231/Initial/Portrait Profile.jpg file:/192.168.1.9/OEFiles/Images/1100231/Initial/Portrait Profile.jpg I have given full access to Guests on the shared folder. I do not want to use SuperContainer. I do not want to store the images in container fields (our clients can have 1-40 GB of images, which causes other problems for us). I know I can setup a web server to share the images, then use web viewers to display them, but I would like to see if it is possible to display them using calculations first. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?
  3. I have a single database that I use to store contact information. I currently have a script to export and backup all of the data as a raw text ".tab" file that is saved on the desktop. (For script step for the path, I set a variable and the following to save to the desktop: Get ( DesktopPath ) & "DataBackup.tab" Works great. But I want to use my database with FM Go, and then revise my script to save this "DataBackup.tab" file to dropbox, or to copy.com. (Copy.com is much like dropbox but with more free storage.) The problem is that the path needs to be revised since you can't save a file to the desktop with FM Go and the iPad. I need to change the path to the root dropbox or copy.com folder. Also, I need this to be a variable so that if my brother uses this same database, it will properly save to his dropbox account/path from his iPad, etc. Thanks.
  4. IN my db I have the following fields IMAGE (CONTAINS 14 FRAMES FROM A MOV FILES AS A JPG FILE) FILEPATH (TEXT FILE AS FOLLOWS: file://Data/Videos/MVI_9887.MOV) VIDEO A Container file where I would like to see the "file://Data/Videos/MVI_9887.MOV" In the DB I have several different records how can I create a SCRIPT AS SUCH GO TO FIELD VIDEO OPEN file://Data/Videos/MVI_9887.MOV I Don't want to keep the video file in the db but only look at it when needed The various INSERT QUICKTIME, URL and so on require me to set the actual file path for each MOVIE file and this is time consuming as I have more than 1200 records, therefore 1200 movie path to insert Anu help? Thanks a lot
