  1. Announcing the Release of 360Deploy 2 for FileMaker Data Migration Ease and Automation 360Works is proud to announce the release of 360Deploy 2! 360Deploy is an easy-to-use developer tool that automates development changes from a development environment to the production server. With the click of a button, it handles all tedious data migration tasks. How 360Deploy works: Clones the development database Transfers clone to the production server Imports the data from the production database and into the clone to absorb the new architecture *For large databases, it supports a scheduling feature to run imports overnight. Backs up the production solution in archived folders prior to import should clients wish to revert back to the old version Renames the deployed file Resumes the deployed file 360Deploy 2 leverages the new FileMaker Data Migration Tool, making the import super fast! Vertical Market solution developers will especially benefit from 360Deploy 2, as it allows for simultaneous remote deployment to multiple servers. Developers with shrink-wrapped software can do a simultaneous version update to multiple client servers around the world...all with a single click. Once you press the 'deploy' button in 360Deploy, there is nothing left to do. It sends the new version to FileMaker Server (or multiple servers), and then runs in the background on each server, so you are free to continue working, take a break, or head home for the night, knowing that the new version will be safely deployed to users on each server by the time you get back. You'll receive an email when the process is complete. Skip the hassle of fumbling with files on the server and stick to the 'one-button click' of 360Deploy for dev changes! Powerful features in 360Deploy 2: Simultaneous remote deployment to multiple servers Migrate data to new database versions using the fast, new FileMaker Data Migration Tool Import automation - automatically takes data from one FileMaker file and places into the structure of another file Scheduling feature lets you run the deployment unattended during off-hours Automated notifications when deployment is complete Work on your test server and easily deploy new changes to your production server We have put together a comparison chart to display the difference between the traditional development method of manually importing data, using the new FileMaker Data Migration Tool, or using 360Deploy 2: 360Deploy 2 requires FileMaker Pro or Advanced 16, and production databases must be hosted on FileMaker Server 14 or later. After downloading 360Deploy on your server and configuring settings with the simple 360Deploy Setup utility, 360Deploy will deploy the development file changes to your users with the click of one button. 360Deploy 2 is available immediately for purchase from 360deploy.com. Pricing starts at $195, which includes deployment with a single FileMaker solution (this can be a multi-file solution) and a single production server. It allows updated file versions for one solution to be deployed to one live / production server. There is a free demo license available which can deploy to any number of servers for testing and evaluation purposes. 4. I read that the new 3.01 version does not require Java. When I run FMPAv16 on my Mac (10.11.6) and use the sample Email database it works just fine and I see nothing related to Java. I had the older v2.12 plugin installed on here and have just updated to v3.01 today. When I run FMPAv16 on a different Mac (10.11.6) and install the v3.01 plugin (never had the plugin installed on this machine before today) and run the sample database a Java App runs without any windows, Just visible in the lower right dock and its single menu is titled "Java" Any ideas as to this oddity? Leland Long
  5. Hi there, we are having some serious trouble with the registration of the plugin in Version 2.12 and 2.14. We are using an enterprise licence for several years know (started with version 1.X, upgraded to version 2 some months ago) and everything worked fine with version 1.X. The Server is running filemaker server advanced 12 with all updates, java version 7.75 installed. 90% of our staff is working via iwp, never had any problems here with the plugin in version 1.X. Today we took a look in our databases and found several errors with registering the plugin. The message looks like this "An error occurred: DEMO mode expired! (16) You can continue to...." We checked the licence-key for version 2 (we got a new key after the upgrade from version 1), everything ok here The plugin is working sporadic so that most of the emails are sent but many are not. We did not change anything in our database for the last several years regarding the plugin or the functions of the plugin. With version 1.X we never had problems like this and it seems that the problem is present since the day we switched to version 2.X. It seems like the plugin forgets it's registration and thinks that it is in demo mode. Example: From three emails one and three are sent, the second one is not. No restart of server, services e.g. between these mails, the plugin seems to be wonly working sporadic. Registration e.g. gets called every time a email has to send so the registration can no be an issue (this was working for several years now, never had a problem with this in version 1.X). We have different solutions/databases which use the plugin and the error is appearing in every one of them. The plugin is absolutely crucial for our business and at this point we are having a hard time dealing with customers and employees because of missing emails. Is somebody having the problem with the problem ? Any clue how to solve this ? Thanks in advance !
  6. Hi everyone, I'm trying to post data to a Drupal application from FileMaker via the BaseElements plugin. I'm getting a token, setting authentication, headers, and the post variables via the BaseElements functions and I've followed examples but I'm getting the following error: {"error":"The type link relation must be specified.”} I can't find any information about what this error might be. Does anyone have any idea based on the output I've gathered below? A working cURL command that I'm basically trying to replicate that can be run from the command line is here: curl --include \ --request POST \ --user res_user:"password" \ --header 'Content-type: application/hal+json' \ --header "X-CSRF-Token: $X_CSRF_TOKEN" \ --data-binary '{"_links":{"type":{"href":"http://server.mskcc.org/rest/type/node/event"}}, "field_event_type":[{"value":"Seminar"}], "title":[{"value":”Novel Approaches to Mating Drosophila"}], "field_shared_datetime":[{"value":"2016-06-13T17:15:00"}], "body":[{"value":"Tea ?: Yes<br>Tea Time: Tea at 1:15 PM"}], "field_shared_location_text":[{"value":"ZRC Auditorium"}], "field_shared_sponsor":[{"value":"Developmental Biology"}], "field_event_hosts_text":[{"value":"Alexander Rudensky"}], "field_shared_people_text":[{"value":"Name of Speaker: Steven Reiner<br>Speaker\u0027s Credentials: M.D.<br>Speaker\u0027s Title: Professor, Department of Microbiology and Immunology<br>Speaker\u0027s Affiliation: Columbia University Medical Center<br>Institution Location: New York, NY"}], "type":[{"target_id":"event"}]}' \ http://dev.mskcc.org/entity/node?_format=hal_json I've attached the script I'm working with as an image. thanks in advance. 7. What is the correct way to use the new SetErrorCapture plugin function. The 360Works documentation has not been updated to illustrate how this function should be used.  I am getting a number of dialog boxes popping up now that I'd like to suppress. For instance, in SuperContainer when a user cancels a file download dialog, I'm getting an error dialog after.  I've tried the following at the start of each script:  Set Variable [$error; Value:SCSetErrorCapture( "On" )]  but that doesn't seem to do the trick.  Any advice?
  8. Crestline, CA, April 30th, 2013 -- Dracoventions has released 2empowerFM Hands-Free Printer 3.0, the first FileMaker plug-in to let you control almost any individual printer setting.   HFP lets you control settings ranging from standard portrait vs. layout orientation to less common staple and hole punch. Save money by turning on toner saver, black & white, and double sided and make complex print jobs a snap. The new HFP can even keep the printer dialogs hidden while your job runs.    HFP 3.0 is available immediately at print.2empowerFM.com for both Macintosh and Windows.     More Reasons to Love HFP   - Automate print jobs to prevent costly mistakes like printing all records instead of current record.   - Make complex letter, label, and envelope print jobs easy even for new employees.   - Automate those infrequent print jobs that employees often forget how to print.   - Avoid use of confusing and error-prone groups of "Restore Print Settings".   - In many cases, only a single script needs to be updated if you get a new printer.   - No special software to install and no special requirements like turning on "access for assistive devices".  Your system's default printer is never changed.     Pricing and Availability   2empowerFM Hands-Free Printer 3.0 is available immediately at print.2empowerFM.com   This is a free update for those who purchased a license within the last year.  Older customers may purchase upgrades at 50% off.  New user licenses start at $99.   Developer licenses are also available.  All plug-ins can be tested for 30 days free of charge and demos are fully functional.     About Dracoventions   Dracoventions is a FileMaker Business Alliance (FBA) member located in Crestline, CA, USA.  We invent solutions to your FileMaker challenges, save you development time, expand FileMaker's capabilities, and create a better user experience.   With over 25 years of software engineering experience, company-founder Chris Dragon was inspired by the business needs of a FileMaker-based non-profit to create the 2empowerFM Family of Plug-ins. These plug-ins include Developer Assistant, Hands-Free Printer, Menu Popper, SQL Runner, and more.  Plug-ins are available at 2empowerFM.com     Contact   Chris Dragon Dracoventions support@dracoventions.com http://www.dracoventions.com PO Box 2859, Crestline, CA 92325, USA (818) 588-6418 This post has been promoted to an article
  9. When files are selected for uploading using SuperContainer Companion plugin, it quietly takes any "file" that is a package/bundle in Mac OS X (essentially, directories that are treated as single files) and zips them. The problem is that when you use the function SCDownload in the plugin to allow the user to export/save a local copy of the file, it does not transparently decompress the ZIP file. Instead, they are presented with a file that is different than what was uploaded. I'm planning on a work-around where we store the real file extension upon upload. Then, when they click our scripted Export button, we will present them with a "Save" dialog that has the name and real file extension of the file. Then, we will export a temporary file to a temporary location, then unzip it from the temporary location to the location the user chose (using ScriptMaster). It's disappointing to have to do this kind of work-around. Am I missing something? Is there some setting in SuperContainer Companion that tells it to transparently store and export packages as the real package, instead of silently zipping, but then not distinguishing between files zipped ahead of time by the user, and files that were not originally zipped?
  10. On the heals of recent QuickLicense 7, Windows 8.1 and OS X Mavericks upgrades, Excel Software updated a suite of protection and licensing tools. QuickLicense Server 1.1 creates a floating license server for a protected application or document. DocProtect 3.0.2 generates a protected Mac or Windows application from popular document types. QLRT Xcode 2.0 provides the QuickLicense 7 runtime system in a static library for Xcode developers. PluginFMQLRT 1.0.1 and PluginXojoQLRT 1.0.1 give FileMaker and Xojo developers a plugin with QuickLicense 7 features tested on the latest Mac and Windows OS. QuickLicense Server 1.1 outputs a vendor-branded, floating license server system for protected applications with no programming required. The system requires minimal administrative effort for the vendor or customer, requires no Internet access and can increase the license count at the customer site with a secure code. The License Server and License Monitor can be distributed royalty-free to customers with a protected application created with QuickLicense or a protected document created with DocProtect. The License Server can run on Windows to serve protected Mac and Windows applications on the network. The server also runs on Mac to license Mac and Windows applications. QLRT Xcode 2.0 adds QuickLicense 7 features for Trial, Product, Subscription, Floating or Try/Buy licenses with a human managed or Internet automated activation system. QuickLicense is used to configure all aspects of the software license and activation process, then output an encrypted Ticket file. That Ticket file is bound to an application with a function call when the QLRT library file is dropped into an Xcode project. Programmers enjoy a quick, integrated solution for any software protection, activation or licensing requirement. Call a simple function to access all commands with fast, streamlined security and no exposed interface. With a small disk and memory footprint, the runtime allows one software build to support many license types and customized features. DocProtect turns HTML projects, image collections, video files, audio files, PDFs or SWF files into a protected Mac or Windows application. When used with QuickLicense 7, any license type or activation process can be applied with advanced features such as license release, restore, reset and subscription management. DocProtect Windows now supports either QuickTime or Media Player as the video engine for protected videos. Protected PDF files are presented with the Adobe Reader engine and have been updated to support the latest build. PluginFMQLRT is a FileMaker plugin that embeds the QuickLicense 7 runtime in a FileMaker Pro Advanced solution that is distributed as a standalone application. PluginXojoQLRT is a Xojo plugin containing the QuickLicense 7 runtime. All protection, activation and licensing capabilities in the QuickLicense system are available to an application with simple function calls. QuickLicense Server 1.1 is $995 for a Single User License on either Windows or Mac. QLRT Xcode 2.0 is $495 and runs on a Mac OS X computer with 10.6 or later with an Intel processor. DocProtect is $495 for a Single User License on either Windows or Mac OS X or $795 for both platforms. A Single User License of either PluginFMQLRT or PluginXojoQLRT is $395 on Mac or Windows or $690 for both. Each product includes royalty-free runtime distribution rights for any number of protected products or licenses. All licensing products support Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1 or Mac OS X 10.6 or later through Mavericks. A free video library demonstrates software protection, licensing features and order process automation. Excel Software Ph: (702) 445-7645 Web: www.excelsoftware.com Email: info@excelsoftware.com
  11. I'm running FMPA 16.02.205 and ScriptMaster 5.05 in MacOS 10.12.6. ScriptMaster doesn't retain the activation state from one start of the app to another. It's not totally consistent either. Any ideas why the activation of the plug-in isn't being retained between app restarts?

  13. Crestline, CA, April 22nd, 2013 -- Dracoventions has released 2empowerFM Menu Popper 3.0, the first FileMaker plug-in to let you add advanced dropdown menus to FileMaker layouts. Dropdowns can be used for things like type-ahead suggestions based on a search of multiple FileMaker fields. For example, as the user types, you might show matches in first names, last names, and email addresses, along with separator lines between each type of match. Showing suggested matches below your fields makes data entry faster and reduces duplicates. Dropdowns placed below FileMaker fields respond to up/down arrows, close when Esc is pressed, and even open again when the field is clicked in or first entered. If a match is chosen, you can populate other fields based on the record id of the chosen match, saving your users even more time. Menu Popper 3 also supports bold, italic, underline, and disabled styles in all its menus, along with bullets in its pop-up menus. Menus can now be kept in memory, combined together, and their items can be added or deleted. 14. I have been trying to upload some server side compatible plug in to my Mac X Server  I followed all the instructions to install it as a server side plug-in putting it in the appropriate  server folder, changed the file privileges to inherit the extensions folder privileges, re-started FM server and the whole server in several occasions but I am still getting the Plug-In Name as Not Loaded, I try to enable it, and as you would expect when I restart the server the selection doesn't stick.  After running several tests, including the removal from the extensions folder of some Plug Ins I never use, I see that the admin console doesn't refresh the list of plugIns available and some plugIns that no longer are in the Extensions folder still show up, no matter how many times I restart FM Server and even the whole OX Server.  I am including a screen shot of the server console in the attachment.  Anyone please, any ideas of what could be happening here? solutions?  Thanks  David  PS. I am running FMSA 10 Admin Console Version : 10.0.2.206 on Apple X Serve 3.1 with  Mac OS X v. 10.5.8 In case this information is relevant
  15. Hi All, Server: FMS 11.03, Mac Server 10.6.8 Client: FMP 11.03, Windows 7 Home Edition SuperContainers: 2.81 over port 80 Problem: I have a Client that just installed Windows 7 Home Edition. The user opened their solution and they got a message that the solution will update their SuperContainers Plugin. (I'm using the automated plugin updater with FMS) After the user gets a message that the update was successful, it cause them to restart FMP. The user launches the solution again and they get the same message that they need to update their SuperContainers Plugin. So the user runs in a loop. Investigation: 1. I made sure the plugin was downloaded correctly in the dir: C:\users\user_name\AppData\Local\FileMaker\Extensions\ This was correct. But did not work. 2. Moved the plugin to the FMP extension folder in the FileMaker Dir. Did not work. 3. Check to see if FileMaker was seeing the plugin. (edit/preferences/plugin tab) It was showing but could not check the box to make it active. I moved the plugin between the two directors, but never having it in both dir at the same time. Still did not work 4. Downloaded the newest plugin from 360works. I Still could not activate the plugin in the plugin tab of FMP. Thanks for your Help. Todd Dignan Dignan Consulting Inc
  16. I was trying to use the ScriptMaster plugin on a Windows Terminal Server but somehow it is not working fully for all instances (users). It always works for Administrator user though. Can anyone help how should I configure this plugin on Terminal Server such that it works for all users without any issue?
  17. Hello, Experiencing a strange behavior. We had to emergency switch our SuperContainer Server. Everything seems to be working as expected except the function SCSetBaseURL is sending back an Error message for one person. OS: Mountain Lion FM Version: 10 We installed the latest version of SuperContainer. It is successfully serving (and transforming) our images. It is also uploading fine through the browser. When I used our FM database I received an error notifying me that SCSetBaseURL was sending back an error code. After review I noticed that my FM 10 had the plugin in the extensions folder but my FM 10 Advanced did not. I downloaded and placed the plugin into my FM 10 Advanced Extensions directory and it worked fine. I can successfully upload images through FM. My coworker is getting the same message. I installed the plugin from the exact same version of FM that we're using and it's still failing I verified that Java was installed and working on his machine. Reviewed file permissions, that the plugin was loaded and recognized by FM. Does anyone have any suggestions or help on how I can determine why the SuperContainer plugin isn't setting the Base URL for my coworker but it does me? Thanks, Travis

    installing plugins

LS, Since FM12 I deploy plugins with the install plugin script step FM provides. This works like a charm in 12.x and 13.x. 14.x refuses to install plugins with these script steps under Win7 and Win10. Has anyone else had problems with this ? I now just manually install the plugins for my test machines, but this kind of sucks. There seems to have been a change as well in the way/time the plugins load as I now get Troi Dialog saying it is not registered, but it it registered when my start scripts is finished loading. Using all the latest versions of my plugins. Thanks in advance !

  20. Nickenich, Germany - (January 28th, 2016) -- MonkeyBread Software today is pleased to announce MBS FileMaker Plugin 6.0 for Mac OS X or Windows, the latest update to their product that is easily the most powerful plugin currently available for FileMaker Pro. As the leading database management solution for Windows, Mac, and the web, the FileMaker Pro Integrated Development Environment supports a plugin architecture that can easily extend the feature set of the application. MBS FileMaker Plugin 6.0 has been updated and now includes over 3500 different functions, and the versatile plugin has gained more new functions: With the new version we got a couple of new DynaPDF functions. One is the new optimize commandto rebuild and repair PDF files. You can do that before archiving PDFs or before creating a PDF/A file. If you need to embed XML for your invoice PDFs, please check the ZUGFeRD examples. If you need to extract text from a PDF, you can now decide between DynaPDF.ExtractTextfor the whole document or DynaPDF.ExtractPageText for individual pages. Our JSON functions got a major update. We know can pass JSON around as both text and IDs. Using IDs can reduce the work the plugin does with parsing and speed up the process a lot. Please check the new functions JSON.Parse, JSON.CreateArrayRef and JSON.CreateObjectRef to create references and work with them. Do you have a LDAP server or one for Active Directory? We have new functions to query LDAP server. You can perform a search and get back results. You can add, modify, delete and rename entries. If you need to loopup an IPv4 or IPv6 for a domain name, you can use our new DNSLookup functions. The reverse way is possible by looking up domain name for an IP. For handling zip archives we got two new convenience functions: UnZipFile.ExtractFiles expands all files from an open archive while ZipFile.CompressFiles adds files to an archive. If you need more control, we still have individual functions for the tasks. If you are unfamiliar with SQL, but you like to use powerful commands in FileMaker, please check our new Insert/Update/Delete commands. FM.UpdateRecord lets you update a record without switching layout. With FM.InsertOrUpdateRecord the plugin either updates an existing record or inserts a new one. And with FM.DeleteRecordyou can delete a record without a relationship or changing layout. And those functions are available for multiple records, too. For the FileMaker development, we got a new contextual menu entry for most list controls in FileMaker. Copy the list of fields or tables as text. Our Syntax Coloring feature is now off by default and turns on when you open script editor. This way regular users don't run into it. We added html functions for clipboard, better hash, more FSEvents and path, new preferences and window, better listmatching and PDFKit functions. Finally we updated DynaPDF to version 3.0.48.143, libXL to version 3.6.5.2, openssl to version 1.0.2e, SQLAPI++ to version 4.1.7 and SQLite to version 3.10.2 See release notes for a complete list of changes. More details in the release notes. Please take the time to check our 350 example databases and check where you can use our plugin features in your solutions. System Requirements: * Mac OS X 10.6 or later, including OS X 10.11 * Windows XP and newer, including Windows 10 * FileMaker Pro 9 to 14 Pricing and Availability: MBS FileMaker Plugin 6.0 for Mac OS X or Windows is available directly from the MonkeyBread website with licenses starting at just $149 (USD). 21. I need some help. I have a database with id and need to update the name of the current record only from an oracle database. I can connect (odbc) to the oracle database and can import by match, but there are some many records and takes a while. Is there a better solution, like jdbc, or a plugin. Currently using filemaker 14 on windows 7. Please advice.
  22. Hello, I have a generated plugin, created in ScriptMaster 4.2, that I am registering using the key generated with the plugin. The registration seems to be working fine in the start-up script and the function show up under external functions. BUT: After 2 hours of using FileMaker, the plugin ceases to run, as if in a demo-mode. The functions are still available but will not work. I have double checked that ScriptMaster Advanced is/was properly registered at the time of plugin creation. This problem is occurring with the Mac version of the plugin. Windows plugins have not been tested. This is urgent. Please advise. Thank you!

  24. I am trying to deploy an application cross platform using the Runtime of FileMaker 11. I have it working on the Mac. I previously had this working in Windows 7. I currently copy my FileMaker file over to Windows to make minor modifications on that platform before generating a runtime for Windows. This previously worked, I do not know what changed. I can see the ScriptMaster plugins through the Preferences dialog. When I open Scripts now in FileMaker Advanced, I only see the Basic Functions and not the library of functions like "Select a File". So the functions I inserted before on the Mac side now show "Function Missing". I used the method of Copy and Paste to add to my startup script the functions I needed. I did download and register for the free version of ScriptMaster, so the plugin does show a key. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  25. I have made a ScriptMaster Advanced (4.124) plugin and when I try and use my complied function from the plugin I get this error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate compiled ScriptMaster function: pdfItin2( output; orientation ) the exact same function runs perfectly when registered in ScriptMaster, but fails to instantiate when run from my plugin. I've triple checked to make sure I've included all required jars in the plugin. How can I debug this? Mac OS X 10.6.8 Sam Fisher
