  1. I'm having some trouble with lengthy pop-up menus not displaying properly on the iPad. The dimensions on the iPad allow for ~21 choices to show at a time in landscape mode, and ~29 in portrait. For menus shorter than these lengths the values appear instantly when the menu is selected. For 2-3 pages of values the first page appears immediately and then subsequent values fill in after a delay, but for more than that (getting up into 60-100+ values) only the first page shows and subsequent pages are blank until you select one of the available values, after which the rest appear. It is driving me crazy and I can't seem to determine why it's not working properly. Hopefully this explanation makes sense. I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thanks! Justin
  2. I am trying achieve two things: 1. Either use a drop-down or pop-up menu on a 'Client' layout that allows users, particularly for Filemaker Go, to select a client and then populates the other fields on the 'Client' layout. This info includes address etc. The layout also has a portal attached to it which lists staff contacts for that client. 2. I have been searching through the internet and forums for a solution to write a script for a button that can turn on/off the Browse mode field entry box. It would be preferable to have an edit button on the layouts rather than changes being allowed when viewing a record Do solutions for these issues revolve around 'Global Storage/Fields'? I don't have a grasp of this concept sadly Thanks
  3. I am creating a pop-up menu list from a calculation within a table. For some reason the value being displayed is always showing twice. Would someone experienced this problem before ? Pop-up menu (double).tiff
  4. Hi, I'm new to the forum so apologies if I have put this question in the wrong section. What I am attempting to do: I want to create a 'home page' that each consultant sees when the database opens on an iPad. The home page should have two pop-up menus, Client and the other Contact. For context, each Client with have multiple Contacts (generally employees and contractors) The consultants in the office want to be able to navigate to a Client they select from the pop-up menu on the 'home page'. The same process applies to the Contact pop-up menu. Many thanks if anyone has ideas how to achieve this.
  5. Hi - I suspect there is a straightforward way to do this but I can't find it!! I am creating a solution to store then analyze some of my surgical workload. I have a table called "Operations" and this is related to another table called "Occupations" via a join table called "OccupationAtOperation". What I would like to do is have a field in the Operations table that is populated via a pop-up menu that is looked up from the relevant field in the Occupation table. I can create such a menu using a value-list, but I can't figure out how to add to the list without going to the Occupation table itself. Is such a thing possible? Can I enter the Occupation field in the Operation table and enter data that also creates a new occupation record in the occupation table? Also, when I come to putting an occupation in the Operation table this needs to be a constant for the operation and NOT change in the operation table if the patient changes their occupation over time. I hope that makes sense!! thanks Garth
  6. Hi all, Â Any FM12 file I open up (tried 2 so far) in FM13 results in Pop-up menus only showing the ID, and not the second field. See attached screen grabs. Â I've checked all the settings... "show values only from second field" is definitely checked. Â Anyone else noticed this?
