  1. I have a script that updates my Filemaker database by importing information from other SQL databases. In this script is a dialogue that asks the user if they wish to continue as it takes a few minutes to complete. I decided to schedule this script to run from the server every couple of hours but wanted to still be able to let a user run it if they needed to update the database in between the scheduled updates. So, I left the dialogue in but wrapped it between ( If and End If ) checking for MultiUserState = 2 so the dialogue step would not execute if running on the server because show dialogue is not compatible. Well the script fails when running on the server (Schedule "Inventory & AR Update" scripting error (3) at "Inventory & AR Assistant v1 : 120.0 Update Control : Show Custom Dialog"). When the script is run from the server MultiUserState should return 1 and subsequently the Show Dialogue should not execute, correct>. I also have Set Error Capture to On. MultiUserState returns... • 0 when network sharing is off • 1 when network sharing is on, you’re accessing the database file from the host computer, and either all users or a specific group of users (based on their privilege set) have network access to the database file • 2 when network sharing is on, you’re accessing the database file from a client computer, and either all users or a specific group of users (based on their privilege set) have network access to the database file
  2. Hi I’m new in Filemaker, but I see lot of advantages using this solution. I have two similar excel one is work schedule and next one is order schedule. I would like to have them in FM. My problem Is to build database which keep the visual and functionality of excels WORK SCHEDULE: The main part of this excel (SCHEUDLE) is connecting dates, workers and type of work to do. I would like to keep the visual form of this excel but it should work as a database. Work to do is editable list of work type. At the upfront you can see date, week day and time start of each shift, colors are pointing different line production (usually there are 2 shifts day/night and we have to lines block line and trey line also there are something like work on empting trays ) Below the main part is dictionary to translate contraction ( OL/K is operator of blocking line, W/PUSTE is forklift on empty side etc. ) and some extra info about production. I will translate last sheudle and add hole excel here. Also I did some pivot table to calculate how often my worker work on each post. It is on GRAF ORDER SCHEDULE At this excel we have similar situation. (I need to delete sensitive data I only keep date from the last month MAY 2016). On the left side you have clients which are extra sorted by type of product they take (BLOCKS / BULK / TRAY ). At the upfront we have dates months, days, week number, total weekly production by product, total day production by product. Last row (IV) is total season order for each client. The main cell is fill with amount of product to do. I should be something like popup menu with order details ( amount of product, order specification, transport specification I will edit that later on ) Please help me build such SHEDULES, I can’t figure out how to start ? P.S. SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH ORDER SCHEUDLE.xls WORK SCHEUDLE.xlsx
  3. Hello, I have created a task list for our company and I created fields that allow the users to enter a date on which they would like to receive an email reminder for that task (i.e. meeting scheduled, call so and so, etc.) I had everything set in place, and originally used various triggers to set off the script. First, I had a button that needed to be pressed daily (quite annoying). Then I had it set as a script trigger for when the first person opened the database on a given day. That still wasn't working out well. Any ideas or guidance for setting a scheduled script to go off at certain times of the day? Is that possible? I am working in FileMaker Pro 11. Thank you!
  4. I have set up a database that allows employees to log in and out of tasks throughout the day so that we can track productivity and use the data to better bill. One of the features of the database is an "In Progress" button that allows department managers to, with a single click, see what employees are actively working on. It all works well except for end of day tasks. Every couple of days, an employee will leave without first logging out of their task. So the next morning, the supervisor will have to manually adjust their time. In an ideal world, each department manager would check the "In Progress" task before heading home to catch them right away, but we don't live in an ideal world. What I want to do is, at a specific time each day, send just these select few managers a quick notification that says "there are five open tasks in your department" (and if there are no open tasks in their department that day, they wouldn't need to receive anything). But because of the volume of users, I want the script to run on the client side rather than server side. I think the actual script is pretty straightforward: If [ Get (AccountName ) = "Manager" ] Go to Layout [ "Layout Name" ] Enter Find Mode Set Field [ Task End Time; "==" ] Perform Find If [ Get (FoundCount) = 0 ] Go to Layout [ "Home" ] Halt Script Exit Script Else Beep Show Custom Dialog [ "Message"; "You have two open tasks in your department." ] Exit Sccript End If End If (I do realize that setting it up this way would cause whatever the person is actively doing to be interrupted by this script. I haven't quite thought of a resolution to that just yet.) But how would I set such a script to run on the client side at, say, 4:00 PM Monday thru Friday? Is there a plugin available or can it be done with the tools and script steps FM has built in?
  5. Hi, I’m looking for a solution to run a script weekly where it will check base on a field (date),The script will also generate report for records that the date is less than 180 days from today date, and will email out the report to the designate email address Can the script run on filemaker pro version standalone or it must be on server version ? Wanted to check can this be done before i going down the road to figure out the solution. Thanks. WJ

  7. I'm still working on my schedule solution. So far I have created "Schedule", "Person" and "Shift" -tables that are joined through other tables such as: "PersonShift" and so on... I have connected my persons to the right shift and my shift to the right date in my schedule. My problem is now how to add the right persons to each date. To add persons and dates to shifts was fairly easy with your help but now it is a whole other thing. My table looks like this: __kp_ScheduleShiftPerson _kf_Schedule _kf_Shift _kf_Person 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 4 1 5 5 2 I know in theory what to do but not an easy way to do it. I don't want to manually copy each date and enter every single person in the group that works that day. It would take forever! Please help!! All tips and tricks are very helpful!
  8. Hello I read the sticky post about serverside export and import. I want to create a report which gets actualized during the night with a scheduled script. The script runs fine when started from a client, but I get error 800 when I want to run it as a schedule. Attached are two PDFs of the scripts. hole Offerte in File "Reports" run the script export Offerten in file "Offerten" and then imports the result. Any hint why this happens? EDIT: added screenshots from updated but still not working version of the script and result per email — it sticks more to the example 1 Subject: Offerte Export: Error Message 800 Reply-To: ralph.schwegler@bluminformatik.ch Datensätze: 1941 Pfad: filemac:/EN FMS SSD/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Documents/offerten.fp7 2 Subject: Offerte Import: Error Message 100 Reply-To: ralph.schwegler@bluminformatik.ch Datensätze: Pfad: filemac:/EN FMS SSD/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Documents/offerten.fp7 hole Offerten.pdf export Offerten.pdf

Anyone with experience in this? I have solved the issue "User Aborted" `chmod 777 /Library/FileMaker\ Server/Data/Scripts/` So I can run some "System Script"s, but for "Script Sequence" the same scripts that runs as "System Scripts" does not run. I suspect wrong error message. I find no details in FileMaker Server console logs, and`tail -f /var/log/system.log` also has no more info. However here I find the actual error: $ tail -f /Library/FileMaker\ Server/Logs/stderr fmshelper: failed to exec() '/Volumes/FMTestServer/Library/FileMaker Server/Data/Scripts/timestamptotmp.sh', error Exec format error
