  1. Hi, All on the same machine: Mac Mini, Mac OSX Lion Server, Filemaker Server Advanced 11, Filemaker Pro Advanced 11 Client. I am sure that my general stupidity is preventing me from accomplishing this EZ task. I have some videos that I would like to view in a container field either using IWP (enabled) or on another remote machine with a Filemaker remote install. I keep getting the same messages, no matter what I try, of "cannot locate URL" or no link or video at all ..... I have tried: 1) putting the video in the web folder of the Filemaker Pro Advanced Client, and trying to access via "Quicktime Access" I do not see anything in the field remotely via Filemaker or on IWP. If I insert as a "file" and select the "relayive file path" dialog I see the "link" in both Filemaker Advanced Client and IWP, but when I click on the link it tells me that it cannot find the file and lists the path ..... 2) Have tried other weird derivations like placing the video file in the Library/Webserver folder on the server, and placing the file in the Filemaker Server web folder....of course that did not work either ...... Help????
  2. I have a solution that uses WebDirect to publish a list of files stored in a container. Is there a way using a url to direct download a file stored in a container?

  4. I would like to perform a search on a DB served and created on a FM11 server using the PHP site setup tools. This web site I would simply like to search the field “NT” for values of say 120. I expected something simple like: http://lgdfm3.ncifcr...list.php?NT=120 But alas I seem to have too high expectations and it seems like I will have to build a form php page to perform a search via a URL?
  5. Hi, everyone. I am using a portal with a button that performs the Open URL script step using text in a field from the portal's related record. It works as expected in every portal row in FM Pro but not in IWP. I've tried all variations of making the url a button such as a global and local graphic, the url text field itself, or another text description field that points to the url link in a button. All work in the program but not on the web. I put the button outside of the portal and the GoToURL works but only references the first occurrence of the portal, of course. Is using the Open URL script step in a portal another function that doesn't perform in IWP? If so, is there a workaround to make this work? I really appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks! David
  6. The topic says it all. My UUID function is working, and I can display it in a standard display field, but I can't get it to populate into my SC URL. Here's how I have the fields set up: (SC is running under tomcat on a Win2008 R2 server) SC_ServerURL (calculation) ="http://myserver:8080/SuperContainer/Files" SC_RecordPathURL (calculation) =Get ( FileName ) & "/Record_" & SC_Get_UUID SC_VersionTrackingURL (calculation) =SC_ServerURL & "/" & SC_RecordPathURL & "/" & "Version_" & SC_VersionNumber & "?style=nodelete+info" SC_VersionNumber (calculation) =Number w/ a range of 0-99999 SC_Get_UUID (text) =UUIDRandom custom function I realize this could be cleaned up a bit. Maybe that's part of the problem. But everything else works. I was using a traditional incremental record ID, and that worked perfectly, but I took that out completely. Now all I end up w/ is all files ending up in the same "Record_" directory, even though I can see the UUID changing in the display field. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! jbh
  7. Hello, I just installed and tested the SuperContainer. I use FM Pro 12 server, and I've install with the "Mac installer". When I use the url "NameOfServer/SUperContainer" I've the correct answer. In the FMServer Consol, the database is correctly publish with GO/PRO and IWP option. In the plugIn tab, I don't see the name of SC. It is normal? When I try to access form an other computer (via Chrome for example) through IWP, I've only a blank windows (exactly a blank layout from FMS) with the "ok" button. I can't access to settings. If I try to access from FM Pro remote, a message indicate "You don't have access to modify…". I've see the URL and it's "localhost…". Also how can I change the "localhost" with the name of my server? Thanks a lot Regards Bernard
  8. I can manually import a .csv URL from the web just fine. Works every time. Why can't I script it to import that same URL? Thanks! An example (not a real URL) is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16irOtO503scu0pKguIzYSM0PTu1oc7rvY7Y/export?gid=0&format=csv
  9. Hi all, I'm an FM novice who has a functioning database, and I'm trying to add layers of functionality to it. One feature I'm trying to design is a script to search through a Gmail outbox with certain keywords. In URLs, "%" translates to "%25". Filemaker appears to do this automatically - In Gmail syntax, you need to write "in%3Asent" to have the Gmail search bar contain "in:sent" which searches my outbox. Here's my current code for Go to URL: This "%" bit translates to "%25". I've tried "\%", I've tried creating a string, x, then having it open x, but no matter what I cannot get "%" to show up as-is, it always translates to "%25". Is there any way around this? I've tried subtracting text, but I just can't seem to get it to work. Any bright ideas? I can't find an answer to this specific question of disabling URL string substitution.
  10. Hi, I have scriptmaster running with Post Data to URL. But there is problems with authentication. My parameters is: URL: https://api.operatorspage.com/2/sms/ VALUE: "batch_label": "Test", "message": "Hello world!" KEY: Authorization Token zxczxczxczxc How can I POST data to URL without get back this error? java.io.IOExeption: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: https://api.operatorspage.com/2/sms/ My code: // Construct data String data = URLEncoder.encode(key, "UTF-8") + "=" + URLEncoder.encode(value, "UTF-8"); // use something like the following to send multiple key/value pairs // data += "&" + URLEncoder.encode(key2, "UTF-8") + "=" + URLEncoder.encode(value2, "UTF-8"); // Send data URL url = new URL(url); URLConnection conn = url.openConnection(); conn.setDoOutput(true); OutputStreamWriter wr = new OutputStreamWriter(conn.getOutputStream()); wr.write(data); wr.flush(); // Get the response String response = conn.getInputStream().getText("utf-8"); wr.close(); return response; Thanks! /Stefan
  11. Hello everyone, I have written a short line of code as a custom html in the web viewer such that when the link present in the web viewer is clicked it runs a particular script in the file with a parameter. It looks like this: "data:text/html," &" <html> <body> &"/"& Get ( FileName )& "?script=<scriptName>&param=" & <someField> &"'>View Map Detail</a> </body> </html>" Now I know that this web viewer is doing what i want it to do. upon clicking the link the script is executed with the appropriate parameter. However each time the link is clicked filemaker reopens the file that i am trying to work with and asks me to reauthenticate and then runs the script. The functionality i want is for the link to be clicked in the web viewer and the script to run in the same (currently open) file. in case it helps, sharing is turned on, and when the script runs it reopens the file with the title: FileName (ComputerName)
  12. I just moved my solution from Server 15 to 16.03 and everything went smoothly except on small issue. My solution has a WebDirect file that users login from the web. The URL on my site is supposed to take the directly to the login screen but since the upgrade drops them directry on the WebDirect Home Screen. Am I missing something? Did something change in Server 16? This worked flawlessly in 15 Here is the link: https://fcserver.fernwoodcove.com/fmi/webd#FC_Databases Thank you in advance! Jim
  13. The script which I am using (kindly provided by another user) is: "http://www.publishersmarketplace.com/pm/search?ss_q=" & Contacts::First Name & "+" & Contacts::Last Name & "&ss_c=dealmaker" Using this script, I am able to generate the URL that I wish. The URL is different depending on who I am searching for, and as such each URL is unique to a specific record. I currently have a field set to perform this script - the problem is creating a button capable of going to this calculated URL. Trying to enter it as the URL to go to leads to me searching for Contacts::First Name rather than the desired first name. I am unsure of how to go forward and am not finding useful information relevant to this problem in my searches.
  14. Hi, I wondering whether somebody might be able to help me with something, more information than help. For background, I'm trying to integrate a system into a website, performing calls, sending data to and from the website. This is all going to be handled from the FileMaker side. Scripts will Send Data to the website via XML and then also receive data in the same way. From the ScriptMaster Plug-In, I was very happy to find the PostXMLData function. so, following on, having started conversations with the Website developer, we got started to getting the the first call to the website, which simply started by sending log-in credentials to the website, and the action is then based on the response. I I have been provide by the Web developer a web address and an test XML structure to send. The URL that I have been given is a 'https' So, My Question; The PostXMLData does work with https url's? Reason being I keep getting a Handshake Exception; "javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target" What I just want to make sure that this is not something on my side, that I need to change. Thanks in advance for any guidance here. Pad
  15. I am working on a project where there is a need to share some data with a 3rd part. Currently, the workflow is to export the records to a CSV and then upload the file to a web API that the 3rd party set up. We would like to send the data directly to the website from inside the solution, instead of having to go through the steps of exporting and manually uploading the file. I am not sure what this new automated-API will quite be like at the moment, as I am working with the web developer to create it in the first place. But I would like to get a better understanding of the possible FileMaker side of things before trying to work that out with them. Is this possible to do with 13? (Note: this is just FMP client and local file, not a hosted/server solution.) Is it possible to use "Insert from URL" (even though I am really exporting) to pass the data via POST? or "Open URL"? Seems like maybe it could be done with a web viewer, if you built the data object into a variable and used javascript to make the connection? Would be nice if there were a full/native FM way to do it, though (easier to maintain I would think). Would this require a plugin (prefer not - cost issues)? Is it perhaps possible to export a file to a URL-path (then maybe I could just re-use the API that currently is in place)? I would assume that many folks have done this before I would like to hear from the voice of experience. Thanks, Justin
  16. Hello everyone. I just joined this forum as a complete newbie and have a question regarding inserting a URL into a record. I'm using Filemaker as a database to keep track of color mixing formulas. So far this has worked just fine, but I'm thinking it would be a cool feature if I could insert a URL for each record that links to a picture of the finished product I'm using the mixed colors on. I tried doing this by creating a button with a "Go to URL" command. This works great, but it creates the same link on every record in my database. I want to use a unique URL for each and some won't have a link at all. I'm probably missing something obvious (very new to Filemaker) but it seems like there should be a way to insert a link on one record only. (I have over 2,000 records in the database). Many thanks!
  17. Hello, I have a question that I'm debating myself if it's doable or not... there is a solution with an Inventory DB. This file contains images of the products, before the filepath was used in the container field as "imagewin"... but the images are being moved to an external system "a cloud". Is there any way i can link the images from the cloud into the cointainer field or maybe a similar solution I could work around? I'm kind of stuck on this issue and I don't know how to proceed. Thanks in advance.
  18. Hi there, Just created a web viewer that shows the contents of a pdf, but I wanted to be able to link to a bookmark that is in the PDF. I have tried the PDF Open Paramaters as documented here: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/acrobat/PDFOpenParameters.pdf Yet this doesn't work. Example: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/acrobat/PDFOpenParameters.pdf#page=10 doesn't go to that page Does anyone have any input on going to a bookmark or page using PDF Open parameters or other ways to do it in FileMaker? Kind regards Noonshade
  19. I have an application that was using IWP under FM Server 12, to allow my friends and friends of friends to upload their golf scores, and my system would calculate their USGA handicaps. After upgrading to FM Server 13, IWP not longer exists, and WebDirect does not support mobile devices. So, I set up an alternative server using FM12. A lot of guys that I don't have contact details for, used that IWP based system to upload golf scores. So I don't have a way to tell them all the new URL. Using the old IWP URL, you are presented with a screen that says "The requested page is not found. Check the URL you are using to access FileMaker WebDirect." I want to edit that page to add some additional information telling them the new URL etc. But I can't find any document with that content in any FM Server folder or sub folder. Anyone know where I can find it ? thanks
