  1. Just upgraded to FMP 16. Now when I try to log into my solution as an admin by hitting the option key I just go straight into the solution. Unfortunately I go straight in as low level user and not as an admin so there doesn't seem to be an easy way to fix this than I can think of. Any suggestions?
  2. Hi all, many thanks for reading my post. I am working on a project with my sister who currently builds our databases at work with filemaker. We are working on a website together for release in late 2014 or early 2015. As with all websites, there's a frontend and a backend. We would like to develop the backend "usernames, passwords, user data, dates, times, data fields etc" within a filemaker database (that my sister can build), and then have a professional web programmer build the frontend using javascript or html 5 or something similar. I have a few questions: 1)
  3. LS, My plan is to let the FMS handle more duties, without overloading the server. For instance 25 PSOS are allowed, so I would like to get the count of those sessions. How do I do that ? I would like to think there would be a simple way to know how many sessions are running and which script they are running. Or shouldn't I be doing this at all ? Regards.
  4. Hello, I would like to restrict access for a specific user group to records based on a specific value in a field. For example, the field is called Category in the database table Catalogue, and the value is Canadian and is part of a value list. I've gotten to the step of a limited records access which brings me to a boolean condition screen. I'm not sure how to write the Boolean condition. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Ok, before I burn thru lots of time (as I've already spent a couple hours...), I was hoping someone may KNOW if you can do peer-to-peer between iPads (3 is the goal) on a closed wifi network (no internet connection)...? AND, if so, could I set it up so that at each iPad a user can log in to show only certain layouts...? Basically, I'm aiming for a mobilized menu/prep ordering system: Cashier + Order Prep Queue + Delivery Queue TIA for any insights
  6. Basically, my database solution is a lead management system, designed to help my sales representatives manage and keep details on leads that my company receives. I don't want my sales representatives to have access to LEADS that they are not assigned to. My solution to this was to have a field in the LEADS table that contains a foreign key from a record in my SALESREPS table. Each LEAD has one SALESREP assigned, and each SALESREP has many LEADS that they are assigned to. My solution works just fine, but I have been trying to figure out the best way to assign a second SALESREP to a LEAD rec
  7. I have a few employees accessing our database either on the local intranet or via web publishing, each with their unique account. Each one has his/her layout in which to enter data. Is there a way to allow each account user only to be able to access their layout? I have created a layout for each of them with different fields to enter data into. I am having the problem that if I am on the main layout when they open the file, it opens on their computer in the layout I am viewing, and they are not savvy enough to switch between layouts, even with buttons I have created.   8. Hi All~ My latest dilemma involves writing a script that will find all the records that were created by a specific user. Basically it breaks down like this: User logs into the database. User wants to know what POs (records in this case) they've made and are still active (Y/N radio button). User runs script that pulls in all records that match these criteria. I can do all that. Easy with one user and one user ID. My issue is that in the script, how do I make a find step that will read the current user? many thanks! I've attached a file with the script
