I am sure this is one of those simple ones… that has me bamboozled for nearly 2 days now. I need to limit access of my users viewing only a limited set of "Company" records after they log in. The companies that they are allowed to see are listed in each respective user's profile. My opening script goes to the user's profile and creates a global variable for each company that they are allowed to view. When I go to the "Manage Security > Edit Privilege Sets > Records > Custom Privileges > Limited > Script", and use any of those variables (e.g. $$Company01"), the records table returns no records at all (i.e. as if there were no matches). When I test the script and use text for any one (or several) of those companies by name (e.g. "ACME PTY LTD"), the access rules work perfectly. To be clear: The global variables themselves are correct. I know this this because they work in other scripts absolutely perfectly, so the variables DO match the names in the field. The script looks like this: $$Company = Table Manufacturer or $$Company01 = Table Manufacturer or $$Company02 = Table Manufacturer or $$Company03 = Table Manufacturer or $$Company04 = Table Manufacturer or $$Company05 = Table Manufacturer In every respect, the variable matches the actual text, but I can only imaging that there is a problem with my syntax? Please advise. Many thanks
So i'm dealing with two tables. 1. VisitTable. 2. GraphicsTable in a VisitTable layout, i have one or two portals related to the GraphicsTable, each related by a different factor. One portal would be related by a Date field, the other would be a ClientName field.. My desire is to click on a thumbnail in either one of these portals, and have that selected image be displayed in a separate/larger image window (which could be a container field in the current table, Or another portal? I don't care how - i just need to have it show up) I don't know the best method for doing this (ie., click thumbnail to have image fillin a separate location). In this particular instance, I don't want this to be a separate window, but to display in a container field view on the current window/layout. how do I accomplish this? thx
I have a client system which includes the collection of proof of delivery signatures using iPhones. The system is hosted on a server. The client has a mixture of Macs, XP and now Windows 7 users. The signatures are copied from the iPhone sub system into the main database using a server side script on a regular schedule. The signatures are visible on macs using the system, and were also visible on PC's using XP, but since the client upgraded to Windows 7 the signatures show the icons of the signature file only on the upgraded PCs. Is there something I can do about this? I have tried changing the default viewer for .png files in Windows to other applications (e.g. Quicktime. This changes the icon visible in the container field to a quicktime icon but doesn't render the image.)
