  1. The first line of my startup script is hiding the toolbar but it appears 1-2 seconds before it disappears. Any way to avoid this ?
  2. FMP 13 - Web Direct - Improperly displaying list layout with sub-summary parts (public link for this doc) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zIbF13RSlaW230-NlYicGZxHB3FsYvQt-U0fFL9uwEU/edit?usp=sharing&pli=1 I am having a problem with Filemaker Pro 13’s Web Direct handling of a simple list layout with sub-summaries. The sub summaries, when added, seem to be cutting off the first (or last*) row of detail in the body. * If the sub-summary is above the body it cuts off the first row. * If the sub-summary is trailing the body, it cuts off the last row of detail. (this exam
  3. To log out Webdirect solution , if i use exit application script , will it log out ? or is there something else to log out ? mikey
  4. Hi All - Looking for some direction here. I'd like to use WebDirect to act as a secure delivery mechanism for PDFs stored in container fields. I set the FileMaker Database server to require secure connections so data passing between the server and the browser is encrypted. My first thought was to simply put the container field on a layout and set it to be interactive and load automatically. I quickly found that, unless I had "Enable progressive downloading" on in the Database Server, the content would NOT show in the field. Instead it just showed the PDF icon and file name.
  5. Has anyone found a workaround for Save Records as PDF in web direct? I know this feature is incompatible with direct scripting and I've been trying to think of a workaround. This feature would be great and is needed to generate any sort of reasonable reports, but I've had not luck scripting a workaround so far. Help!
  6. I have a FileMaker server 13.v10 database solution that changed somehow during development and now does not display several WebDirect objects properly. For starters, the text shows up as white on a white background, which it did not do before. We have been and are using the Cool Grey theme. Other problems with display: 1. 3 value lists will not display: One a regular list from a set of values, another list from a related layout, and a third a filtered list from another layout. Another value list works normally 2. A picture in a container field (locally stored, not exte
  7. I have a web direct solution which has the opening script which starts with these commands: Show/Hide Toolbars [Lock;hide] Show/Hide Menubar [Hide] Yet when I launch it, the toolbar shows up for about 1-2 seconds as the app launches. This looks really ugly and unprofessional. Is there any way to truly hide the toolbar from showing?
  8. I have a client that just moved from FM 9 to FM 13. This is a school that has many teachers that used the database via IWP, so now they're using WebDirect. FM 13 is new for me, and I'm not a Windows person. So far, I haven't done any modifications of the layouts that were used via IWP. Other than the error below, everything seems to be working. I've just gotten reports that users are unable to copy text in Word and paste it into a database text field, if they use the 'control-v' keyboard command. They are running Windows 8, and a variety of browsers (Explorer, Chrome, Firefox). I had
  9. Hi Ok, so we have just completed the set up of our test FM13 server and the application is being accessed via webdirect. I have tested it on Chrome (as our managed image only runs IE8 at present), and I get a login dialog whuich i have to enter my network credentials into. Currently the application is secured by three different Active Directory groups based on the access level of the user, and the users would really like to know if it's possoble for them to not have to sign in? The third party provider who set this up believed it was possible, but as WebDirect is new, there doesn't seem to
  10. I have an FM solution where the checkbox is minimized to its width and in webdirect it still shows the "1". FM: http://cloud.zerobluetech.com/image/1B2z1J353L1O Webdirect: http://cloud.zerobluetech.com/image/421H1Q2i171g Then I went down in font size and at 18 it actually works, with a width of 20. Just wanted to let you guys know. The other thing is a button on a portal row. It fits perfectly well in FM and works. In webdirect I had to put it in the front and remove the fill color.
  11. In FMS13v5, I have a solution which at one point requires the user to relogin using the [Guest] account. If I script it as follows: Re-Login[] Set Variable ($err = Get(LastError) Show Custom Dialog ("Error = " & $err) As long as the user chooses the Guest button on the Re-Login dialog, it works fine, and Err= 0, and the account changes to [Guest]. If I script it as follows: Re-Login[No Dialog] Set Variable ($err = Get(LastError) Show Custom Dialog ("Error = " & $err) Then I get Err=5 (Command is invalid) and the account privilege does not change to the [Guest] account.
  12. In my WebDirect solution, I often do something like this for creating data in a non-related table. I'm curious if anyone knows which method is faster? Creating then closing a new (virtual) window: FreezeWindow New Window Go to layout XXX New Record Set field Set field Close Window Navigating layouts: FreezeWindow Go to layout XXX New Record Set field Set field Go to layout (original layout) The reason I prefer the New Window solution is that it doesn't affect the state of the current window. The second solution, by contrast, can affect things such as the l
  13. Hi, I'm trying to get my mind around using layouts with WebDirect. See the pic below. The layout is relatively tight at around 750 pixels wide. https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/33a4adaf-8a19-4046-b35f-b2c77214510b/84064a9fc2cf6f65d01eb175c00d4cad However when viewed in WebDirect it really wants to go wide with it. I'm not sure how to constrain it to something more manageable: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/80385469-2833-4c6d-89ac-a94da6d0f6ec/64e56cf9f922952410d8bd4f68570b20 Any suggestions? Thanks
  14. We have been struggling to deal with the fact that anyone can manually edit the WebDirect URL to gain access to things that they normally wouldn't, from IWP or even Client versions. Is there any way to disable this glaring security flaw in WebDirect? Ideally, there would be a switch we could enable or disable to mask the URL (similarly to IWP) or not, as desired. Currently, here are the workarounds we've come up with: /fmi/webd#<database>&lay=<layout name>&viewstyle=<form/list>&record=<record number>&mode=<browse/find> 1) Database: Technica
  15. Hi all I have a layout with a portal and the portal isn't displaying any records. I've tried changing the theme (based on solution I read on another thread here). What am I missing? P.S: I'm a beginner, so excuse the blind ignorance.
  16. Good morning. I apologize for my english by google translate. I created for the first time in years a db to use a browser, with FMwebdirect. Known but some flaws that I did not expect given the experience I had with FM and I do not know what to depend on. 1-not work drag and drop images, if the load by the "insert in the container" from my mac it does, from the client pretends to load and then does not display images. Even to win. 2-The first screen is made with navigation icons, perfectly visible in local, disappeared from the web version. Whether they are png or jpg. Using FM 13 advanced, th
  17. Is there a way to change the browser window title of the login prompt that appears when you are redirected to "http://website/fmi/webd?" The default title is "Filemaker WebDirect". 20mb image hosting
  18. Hi, I am going to migrate my FileMaker server from one server machine to another and I am in the process of testing the transfer. However following the test transfer I have discovered that accessing database files in the new server via WebDirect is not functioning properly. I wonder if the community can offer some advice? Normally upon entering the hyperlink (i.e. <host>/fmi/webd/), I would be presented the default WebDirect screen asking for my credentials before presenting me with the list of database files available. However when the files are hosted on the new server, I only get th
  19. Our jurisdiction is exploring options on providing public access to certain information within Filemaker. We do not have a PHP designer on staff, and the third party estimates we are getting for this work has been quite a bit higher than we anticipated. I will likely be leading this project for the foreseeable future, (I am the in house FM coordinator), with almost zero web development experience. My question: is WebDirect an option I should even consider, given it's limitations? We have a CMS website developed and hosted by a third party, and our IS department is on board with helping
  20. Hello. I have an a solution with some web direct layyouts for my customer. In On Open file script, when customer enter the layout will create a global variable $$Loginname and after that on all layouts they should see only their records related to the $$Loginname. Right now i use a portal with filter Customer = $$Loginname. Question: What is faster? List view with script on enter that will find related records or portal with filter. Really the problem is that my customer have a big latency( because they live in Russia, and my server in China) and when they scroll portal there always an a
  21. Webdirect does not seem to respect the aspect ratio of a video (at all). It resizes it to the dimensions of the container field both horizontally and vertically. Turning auto-resizing off is no solution either, because different movies have different aspect ratios - it's impossible to size the container field to match all movies stored in it. Does anyone know a cure for this...? See images attached. PS: the obvious is a given - "maintain original proportions" is checked. PPS: I just installed FMS 14 and FMP 14 to see if maybe they resolved this. Go figure... sometimes I really wonder. R
  22. hi all, the situation: - users should log in to a file via webdirect and get their appropriate values displayed - they should "just" click a link in an email - i was searching the documentation and forums but couldn't find an answer to… the question: - is it possible to call a script with parameters in webdirect similar to the fmp:// call? - if so, what is wrong with this url: www.myfmserver.com/fmi/webd#fmEvent?script=redirect&param=CEDFFF2F-3932-4405-92BB-7FBE035ED89F with the solution called "fmEvent" the script called "redirect" and the param being an uuid "CEDFFF2F-39
  23. Hi - I'm using filemaker pro advanced and working with webdirect layouts, But I do not find URL to see the filemaker layouts on Browsers. Is it possible to see this pages without hosting fm application to fm server. Thanks in advance for your reply
  24. Has anyone had any trouble with value lists displaying in web direct? I have a value lists from an external data source that will not display. I have tried it as a popup menu, a drop down menu, radio button set, and in a popover button with radio buttons. Then I have another value list that is also from an external data source but defined from a field and it loads.
  25. Hello I would like to know how many users can access my web direct in simultaneous. I read somewere only 5 users can access the database on remote mode. This can be aplyed to web direct? Thanks
