Could not get database names for filemaker database server

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

I installed today mirror sync as a trial on a filemaker server to give it a try. After Installation and reboot of the server (basically it wasn't responding) I logged in on mirror sync and start creating a new configuration, but It gives me an error when I try to access to the database server.

What am I missing?

This error indicates an issue trying to read data from the FileMaker database. This could be because your XML publishing engine is off or broken, among other possibilities.

To debug, you can run this query in your web browser on the server you installed MirrorSync and see if you  get an XML response.

http://localhost/fmi/xml/FMPXMLRESULT.xml?-dbnames

In either case, you can go to localhost/MirrorSync and submit a problem report and we can take over in our ticketing system to get you sorted out.

San Diego, CA - October 11, 2017 - Productive Computing, Inc., a Platinum member of the FileMaker® Business Alliance, announces a new dedicated hosting plan for FileMaker Server 15 and 16. The Micro Team plan, available for $99 a month, gives the FileMaker community a more affordable hosting option to get their FileMaker solutions in the cloud.
Productive Computing's dedicated hosting plans allow users to host their solutions in a secure environment and take advantage of the benefits of FileMaker Server 15 and 16.
"We created the Micro Team hosting plan to give smaller organizations and independent FileMaker developers a more affordable dedicated hosting option. We realized that there were customers out there with fewer users and smaller files who didn't need the robust computing power offered by our other plans. The Micro Team plan can easily handle a small contact or order management system or can be used by developers to temporarily host client files that they are working on." - Marc Larochelle, CEO, Productive Computing, Inc.
This new dedicated hosting plan will offer the same benefits as the other plans: free setup, robust backup schedules, and SSL certificates. All servers are fully managed by PCI's certified hosting team at no additional charge. Customers can choose to provide their own FileMaker Server license or they will be able to purchase their license through Productive Computing at a discount.
      Every Dedicated Hosting plan includes:
      -          Free personalized setup
      -          Fully managed dedicated server
      -          SSL certificate
      -          FileMaker Server Admin Console access
      -          Regular automatic backups
      -          Dropbox availability
      -          Optional Amazon Web Services (AWS) consultation
      -          Access to FileMaker and AWS certified developers for assistance and questions
      -          Secure uploads, downloads and connections
      -          PHP/ CWP/ ODBC/ JDBC/ XML connectivity
      -          FMI API trial access
      -          Ability to use FileMaker WebDirect and FileMaker Go
      -          Optional customized integration with third-party tools, AWS S3, and more

Dedicated hosting plans start as low as $99/month and Shared hosting plans are available for as little as $30/month. Productive Computing also offers setup, consultation, and monthly managed services for FileMaker Cloud, starting at $39/mo.

360Works is having a one-day sale on Friday, September 29, 2017 to help relief efforts for the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. This Friday, all 360Works plug-ins and add-ons will be available for 10% off using the discount code 360HELPNOW and all proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Maria relief efforts.
Hurricane Maria left the entire island of Puerto Rico in devastation. It is now one week since the hurricane hit the islands, and millions are still without power, fuel, and clean water. Communication is non-existent in many areas as cell service has been interrupted with cell towers down. Food is becoming scarce. Today, CNN reported that in the town of Utuado, Lydia Rivera has started to ration crackers and drink rainwater to keep her two grandchildren alive. "No water, no food," Rivera told CNN. People with medical conditions are at risk of death, as diesel supplies diminish and limit the power supply for generators powering hospitals and home breathing equipment.
The American Red Cross has had their employees and volunteers on the ground in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands since before Hurricane Irma made landfall a few weeks prior. They are continuing to expand their relief efforts by shipping satellite phones and other technology supplies to help with the interrupted cell service and bringing relief supplies such as water, ready-to-eat food, cleanup kits, home repair kits, insect repellent, and more.
At 360Works, we believe we can work with our customers to make a difference. Make any purchase at 360works.com on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. ET using the 360HELPNOW promo code, and 100% of all sales will be donated to the American Red Cross. If you would prefer to make a contribution directly to the Red Cross rather than buy a product from our online store, we will match the total amount of these donations, beginning Wednesday, September 27 through Friday, September 29. For all direct contributions received up until Friday, September 29th, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, 360Works will match the total amount of donations up to $5,000. Please use this link to make direct contributions to the 360Works Hurricane Maria Relief Efforts. Thank you for your support over the years, and for working with us to help those in need.
      Sincerely,

      The 360Works team:

      Hi guys,

I am trying to set up MirrorSync with a Data Separation Model setup and need a spot of help. I have the DATA file hosted on FMPHost.com, and a local copy of the UI. The documentation states that I must set up MirrorSync in the UI file, then copy that across to the DATA file. However, the setup window only gives me the option to select the DATA file. I'm a bit stuck now, could anyone shed some light on how to proceed?
      Thanks in advance!

      Hi,
Our Filemaker database is hosted by 360Works using MirrorSync 3. The owner wants to upgrade to MirrorSync 4 asap. Any idea on when it will be available for hosted databases?
      :-)
      Doug
