Newbies RCamejo Posted June 19, 2002 Newbies Posted June 19, 2002 I am trying to make a double sided identification card with information in the database. The front side would have a persons name, the rear their photo and personal data. Each side prints on it's own with no problem. My problem is that I want to duplex the card (I have a printer with duplexing capability), but the data doesn't line up on the second page. I am using an Avery business card for the layout. When I print, record #1 is always in the upper left corner. On the back side, record #1 needs to be in the upper right corner. Any suggestions on how to set this up would be greatly appreciated.
Vaughan Posted June 20, 2002 Posted June 20, 2002 Try this: use a single two-page layout for each record. Put side 1 on the forst pagr, side 2 on the second. Adjust either page's elements until they are correct.
Newbies sapna Posted March 19, 2004 Newbies Posted March 19, 2004 I was wondering how to set filemaker up for dual side printing on ID cards. I was told to check if FM is capable of dual side printing, and I'm not sure how to go about checking before purchasing the ID card printer. Thanks.
BobWeaver Posted March 19, 2004 Posted March 19, 2004 I've done it. You either have to set up some strange relationships that have different sorting so that the records are arranged left to right on the front side of the print layout, and right to left on the back side. If you do it as two separate print runs, then you can skip the relationships, and just sort the data differently for each print run.
