Hi guys and gals,

I'm running FileMaker Server 5.0 on a dedicated NT workstation.

I am thinking about disabling bunch of services on this NT box for security reasons, but don't know which ones are critical to FMS.

For example, will I mess it up by disabling local Network DDE, or Server services?

I also scanned my ports, and see only UDP ports open. But my FMS is configured for TCP/IP, so in other words FileMaker Server works through UDP ports?

Thanks in advance

I believe you will need to leave task scheduler enabled if you are using FileMaker server to automatically backup your files. Not sure about the server service - that may only be relevant for Microsoft file sharing type access.
