bbaliner Posted July 1, 2002 Posted July 1, 2002 Hi folks, Does anyone know of a good way to export directly into excel, whithout going thorough an intermediary app like .dbf or .tab file? Maybe a plug-in or something? That'd be great not to have the headings butchered. I wonder when (or if) FM will convince Microsoft to honor FM export directly...
kraftyman Posted July 2, 2002 Posted July 2, 2002 Presumably ODBC is not working for you... You could automate the export to the TAB/CSV file, and then set this is up as a data source in Windows, so that Excel could automatically update a worksheet from this data
bbaliner Posted July 2, 2002 Author Posted July 2, 2002 --Presumably ODBC is not working for you... Wait, are you talking about using ODBC between Excel and File Maker? I haven't tried that, I assumed ODBC is only for SQL databases interface. --You could automate the export to the TAB/CSV file, and then set this is up as a data source in Windows, so that Excel could automatically update a worksheet from this data I can do the first part. In the second part are you suggesting writing a macro for excel automatic update from data source? Thanks for your advice. BB
