Newbies mcohran Posted July 11, 2002 Newbies Posted July 11, 2002 I'm using FMP 5.5 with Mac OSX. I have created a layout that spans two pages. I have set the Part Setup to allow parts to break across page boundaries. The problem is that page 1 is printing on top of page 2. I have searched the FM Website for tech articles about this to no avail, and I've tried breaking the layout into two text blocks. Anyone else have this problem or know how to solve it?
BobWeaver Posted July 11, 2002 Posted July 11, 2002 What exactly do you mean by page 1 printing over top of page 2? Do you mean that all the page 1 stuff is superimposed on the page 2 stuff? Or.. Is there just a bit of the stuff from the bottom of page 1 slopping over onto the top of page 2? Or, something else?
Newbies markyd Posted September 25, 2002 Newbies Posted September 25, 2002 I am wondering how you break a field across multiple pages eg. writing a letter from within a database. Can anyone give me some hints?
CobaltSky Posted September 25, 2002 Posted September 25, 2002 Provided you are not using columns (which require that the layout be constrained to one page length), you can make a multi-page layout by simply dragging the body part down to the desired maximum length. Text fields can then be made appropriately large (more than one page length if desired) and will break appropriately over the page boundaries. You'll want to consider using the option to slide up and reduce the size of the enclosing part (from 'Format > Sliding/Prnting...' in layout mode) though, to ensure you don't get a bunch of blank pages in cases where the field contents are shorter than the maximum you've allowed for.
BobWeaver Posted September 26, 2002 Posted September 26, 2002 I wrote a longwinded post about this some time back. Here is the link: http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB8&Number=1518&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=all&fpart=1
