garhop Posted August 7, 2002 Posted August 7, 2002 There appears to be two menu altering plug-ins on the market. (1) Menu Control by Dacons and (2) the new version of SecureFM by New Millennium. Has anyone tried either?..both?... and your opinion please. Gary
joegold Posted August 19, 2002 Posted August 19, 2002 I use Secure FM. It works quite well in allowing you to gray out any menu choice you would like. When you gray it out, the keyboard shortcut also stops working. On windows and mac OS 9, you can actually remove an entire window. Unfortunately, this does not work on mac OS x. On mac os x, the menu cannot vanish, it just gets grayed out. Secure FM can also remove toolbars and the status bar. I have not tried Menu Control although the idea of being able to link any menu item to a script, and link keyboard shortcuts to a script is very exciting to me.
CobaltSky Posted August 21, 2002 Posted August 21, 2002 Not sure if you'll have caught up with my recent post on this topic on another (related) thread on this forum, but if not, it is at: Anyone using Menu Altering Plug-Ins? Cheers,
garhop Posted September 4, 2002 Author Posted September 4, 2002 Thanks for the info folks. CobaltSky, I'll look up your post. The link has died. Thanks again, Gary
