Disappearing latest entry in portal

Featured Replies

Using FMP 5.5, on OSX and Windows.

After adding a new record in a daughter file, the entry is not visible in the portal of the mother record until the mother record is closed and reopened. Any clue as to what might be happening? It does not appear to happen in OS9 or Classic mode of OSX.

I am not sure how you've got it set up, but sometimes FMP will not immediately show newly added related records in the parent file's portal. This can especially be the case in a multi-user scenario. I always end a 'add new child record' script with Go To Layout (original) step. This usually helps.

You shouldn't have to close and re-open the parent file, maybe just refresh its layout.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Any explanation as to why this might be happening in OSX and not Classic?
